SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNINCil
Read all warnings, safety instructions and other instructions carefully
before use. Failure to follow all the instructions and safety instructions can
result in the risk of electric shock, fire and/or serious personal injury.
- Save these instructions and safety instructions for future reference.
- The term “power tool” in all the warnings below refers to mains-powered (corded) or battery-powered (cordless) power tools.
WORKAREA
- Keep the work area clean and well lit. Dark and cluttered work areas increase the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Do not use power tools in explosive environments, such as in the vicinity offlammable liquids, gas or dust. Power tools produce sparks that can ignite dust and fumes.
- Keep onlookers, especially children, and pets at a safe distance when using power tools. You can easily lose control of the product if you are distracted.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY
- Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces such as pipes, radiators, cookers and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed.
- Do not expose power tools to rain or moisture. There is a greater risk of electric shock if water gets into a power tool.
PERSONAL SAFETY
- Stay alert. Pay attention to what you are doing, and use your common sense when working with power tools. Never use power tools if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. Remember that a fraction of a second of inattention or negligence can result in serious personal injury.
- Use personal safety equipment. Wear safety glasses. Depending on the type of product and how it is used, safety equipment such as dust masks, non-slip safety shoes, safety helmets and ear protection reduce the risk of personal injury.
- Avoid accidental starting. Check that the power switch is in the OFF position before plugging in the plug or battery, or lifting/ carrying the product. Carrying a powertool with your finger on the switch, or connecting a tool to the mains supply when the switch is in the ON position, increases the risk of accidents and injuries.
- Remove any adjuster keys and the like before starting the product. Spanners or the like that are left in a rotating part of the product can cause personal injury.
- Do not overreach. Always maintain a firm footing and good balance. This ensures better control over the power tool in unexpected situations.
- Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose-fitting clothing, jewellery and long hair can get caught in moving parts.
- If dust extraction and dust collection equipment is available, this should be connected and used correctly. The use of such devices can reduce the risk of dust-related problems.
USE AND CARE
- Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for the planned work. The power tool does the job better and safer when used at the rate for which it was designed.
- Do not use the power tool if it cannot be switched on and off with the power switch. Power tools that cannot be controlled with the power switch are dangerous and must be repaired . Pull out the plug and/or remove the battery before making any adjustments, changing accessories or putting the power tool away. These safety precautions reduce the risk of accidentally starting the power tool.
- Store power tools out of the reach of children when not in use. Never allow children, or anyone who is unfamiliar with the power tool and these instructions, to use the tool. Power tools are dangerous if used by inexperienced persons.
- Maintain and take good care of power tools. Check before use that moving parts are properly adjusted and do not jam, and that no parts are damaged. Check for other factors that could affect the functionality of the product. Have the product repaired before using it again. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
- Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to jam and are easier to control.
- Use the power tool, accessories and bits etc., in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the actual working conditions and the work that is to be done. It can be dangerous to use power tools for purposes other than those for which they are intended to be used.
- Do not use the product if a handle or safety device is dismantled or damaged. Do not dismantle the product or attempt to modify or repair it- risk of personal injury and/or material damage.
- Look around the work area for potential risks that you might not notice when the product is in use.
- Do not use the product when other persons, especially children, or pets, are in the vicinity.
USING AND HANDLING CORDLESS PRODUCTS
- Only charge the battery with the charger recommended by the manufacturer. A charger intended for one type of battery can result in a fire risk if used with another type of battery.
- Only use batteries recommended by the manufacturer. The use of other batteries can result in a risk of personal injury and/ or fire.
- When the battery is not in use keep it away from metal objects such as paper-clips, coins, keys, nails, screws and other small metal objects that can short circuit the terminals. Short circuiting discharges large amounts of energy and can cause a fire and/or serious personal injury.
- Failure to handle the battery carefully can cause fluid to leak from the battery. Avoid contact with battery fluid. If you get battery fluid on your skin, rinse immediately in plenty of fresh water. If you get battery fluid in your eyes, rinse your eyes with clean water for at least 10 minutes and then seek medical attention immediately. Fluid leaking from the battery can cause irritation or burns.
- Read all the instructions and safety instructions for the charger and/or battery.
SERVICE
- The power tool must only be serviced by qualified personnel using identical spare parts. This will ensure that the power tool remains safe to use.
SPECIAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Hold the product by the insulated grips when working in areas where it could come into contact with concealed cables. Contact with a live cable will cause the metal parts on the product to also become live – risk of electric shock. Wear safety glasses and ear protection. A safety helmet with visor, safety gloves and non-slip safety shoes with protection for the lower part of the leg are recommended.
- Do not overreach. Always maintain a firm footing and good balance. Only use the product on a level, stable surface. Never use the product from a ladder, tree or other unstable place. This could cause you to lose your balance or lose control of the product.
- Keep the handles clean, dry and free from oil and grease. Greasy handles make it difficult to hold the product- risk of personal injury and/or material damage.
- Only use the product to remove grass and somewhat thicker undergrowth. Do not use the product for any other purpose than the one it is intended to be used for. Incorrect use can result in a risk of serious personal injury.
CAUSES OF KICKBACK AND WAYS TO PREVENT IT
- Kickback can occur if the tip of the blade comes into contact with wood or other solid objects.
- The product is then thrown backwards out of control towards the user.
- Kickback can cause you to lose control of the product, with a risk of fatal or serious personal injury. Do not rely on the safety mechanisms on the product. Take suitable precautions to prevent accidents and personal injury.
- Kickback occurs when the product is used incorrectly and/or with the wrong work methods or in the wrong conditions, and can be avoided as follows.
– Hold the product firmly with both hands and hold your arms and body in a position that prevents kickback. Do not let go of the product
– Only use accessories recommended by the manufacturer. The use of other accessories increases the risk of kickback.
– Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for maintenance.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read all the warnings, safety instructions and other instructions carefully before use and familiarise yourself with the controls on the product and how to use them, their applications, limits and potential risks. It is recommended to undertake a suitable training course.

The product is not intended to be used by persons (children or adults) with any form of functional disorders, or by persons who do not have sufficient experience or knowledge on how to use it, unless they have received instructions concerning the use of the product from someone who is responsible for their safety. Keep children under supervision to make sure they do not play with the product.

Switch off the product and remove the battery in the following situations.
Before leaving the product unattended.
– Before checking, adjusting, cleaning or doing any other work on the product.
– If the product starts vibrating abnormally. -
Keep onlookers, especially children and pets at a safe distance from the work area.

Carefully inspect the area where the product is to be used and remove any foreign objects that can fasten and be thrown out by the product. Ejected objects can cause serious personal injury and/or material damage.

Switch off the product and wait until all moving parts have completely stopped before putting it down.
-
Never leave the product unattended when the battery is inserted. Switch off the product before transporting it.
-
Do not use the product if a handle or safety device is dismantled or damaged.
-
Do not use the product if it is not fully assembled.
-
Do not dismantle the product or attempt to modify or repair it, this will invalidate the warranty and can result in a risk of personal injury and/or material damage.

Only use spare parts recommended by the manufacturer. Remove the battery before changing accessories and/or spare parts. Fit accessories and/or spare parts in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

Hold the product firmly with both hands and point the blade/trimmer head away from the body.
-
Check that the blade/trimmer head is not touching the ground or an object when starting the product. Check that the power switch is in the OFF position before putting in the battery. The power switch and lock must not be in the locked position.
-
Keep other people, especially children, and pets at least 15 metres away from the work area.
-
Only use the product in daylight, or in good artificial lighting.
-
Wear safety glasses, ear protection, safety gloves, non-slip safety shoes and heavy-duty long trousers.
-
Do not wear loose-fitting clothing, jewellery or watches that can get caught in moving parts. Do not use the product barefoot or wearing open shoes.
-
Stay at least 10 metres away from power lines.
-
Do not overreach. Always maintain a firm footing and good balance. Only use the product on a level, stable surface.
-
Be careful to avoid slipping or falling, especially when walking backwards.
-
Switch off the product immediately and remove the battery from the product if the blade jams. Remove the blockage.
-
Check that the power switch is in the OFF position before putting in the battery. The power switch and lock must not be in the locked position.
-
Never dismantle or modify the safety devices on the product.
-
Do not use the product if it is damaged, or if all the safety devices are not in place and working properly. Replace damaged or worn parts.
-
Do not use the product in an explosive environment, e.g. near flammable liquids, gas or dust- risk of fire and/or explosion.
WARNING!
The product produces an electromagnetic field when in use. This field can
in some circumstances affect active or passive medical implants. If you have a
medical implant you should consult your doctor and/or the manufacturer of the
medical implant before using the product to reduce the risk of serious or
fatal personal injury.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR BATTERY
- Never attempt to open batteries in any ci rcu msta nces.
- Do not expose batteries to rain or moisture.
- Never burn the battery, not even if it is damaged and can no longer be charged.
- The battery can explode if it is burned.
- Do not store the where the temperature can exceed 40°C.
- Do not leave the battery in the charger after it is fully charged – risk of battery leakage.
- Only charge at room temperature.
- Only charge with the supplied charger.
- Check that the battery is dry and clean before charging.
- Only use the type of battery supplied with the tool.
- Recycle used batteries in accordance with local regulations.
- A small amount offluid can leak out of the battery during extreme usage, or in extreme temperatures. Follow the instructions below if you discover fluid on the battery.
- Carefully wipe away the fluid with a cloth.
- Avoid contact with battery fluid.
- The battery cells are of the lithium-ion type. Do not discard batteries with household waste, in a fire or in water. Recycle used batteries in accordance with local regulations.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR CHARGER
- The plug on the charger must match the power point. Never modify the plug in any way. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets reduce the risk of electric shock.
- The charger must only be used with the type of battery recommended by the manufacturer. Charging other batteries can result in an explosion, personal injury or material damage.
- Do not charge more than two consecutive batteries without allowing the charger to cool.
- After charging, unplug the power cord to the charger and remove the battery from the charger. Do not leave batteries in the charger.
- Never carry the product by the power cord. Do not pull the power cord to pull out the plug.
- Keep the power cord away from heat, oil and sharp edges.
- Do not attempt to charge nonrechargeable batteries. The power cord for the charger cannot be replaced. Do not use the charger if the power cord or plug are damaged.
- Do not expose the charger to rain or moisture.
- Do not open the charger.
- Do not insert objects into the ventilation openings on the charger.
- The charger is only intended for indoor use.
- The battery will get hot during long periods of use. Allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes before charging.
- The charger and battery can get hot during the charging. This is quite normal. The charger should preferably be used at room temperature.
- Do not cover the battery charger. Do not charge the battery in direct sunlight or near sources of heat.
- The battery must be charged when it no longer supplies the tool with enough power.
- Do not continue to use the tool when the battery no longer supplies the tool with enough power. Charge the battery according to the instructions. The battery can be recharged at any time, even if it is not fully discharged.
- Make sure that the charger terminals are not short circuited by any metal objects when the power cord on the charger is plugged in. Unplug the power cord when the charger is not in use. Unplug the power cord before cleaning.
- Never immerse the charger in water or any other liquid.
- Never allow water to get into the charger – risk of electric shock.
RISK OF FIRE AND/OR EXPLOSION
- Never use damaged, defective or deformed batteries. Never attempt to open the battery or subject it to knock and blows.
- Never charge the battery near acid and/or flammable gas or other substances.
- Do not expose batteries to heat or naked flames.
- Do not charge the battery at temperatures below 10°( or above 40°C, this can damage the battery.
- Do not expose the battery to high temperatures or strong sunlight for long periods.
- The battery will get hot during long periods of use. Allow it to cool before charging.
- Never short-circuit the battery terminals.
- The battery must be packed in a plastic bag or box, or the battery terminals sealed, before transport or storage and before waste disposal of the battery
REMAINING RISKS

Even if appropriate safety regulations are adhered to and safety devices are used, it is not possible to eliminate all risks. The following risks remain:
– Risk of cut injuries.
– Risk of hearing impairment. -
Prolonged use without ear protection can result in the risk of a hearing impairment. Wear ear protection.

Risk of personal injury as a result of vibration during prolonged and/or incorrect use.
-
During prolonged use vibrations are suspected to cause circulation problems in the hands and arms, or Raynaud’s syndrome (white fingers). Stop working immediately and seek medical attention if you experience numbness, itching, tingling or pain, or if your skin changes colour. Limit the risk of injuries as a result of vibrations by maintaining the tool correctly, keeping your hands warm and taking breaks.

Even if the product is used in accordance with the instructions it is impossible to rule out all risk factors.
WARNING!
- The product must not be used to trim hedges, cut thick branches, or to shredmaterial to be composted.
- The product must not be used to cut or trim grass that is not growing on the ground – grass on roads, paving etc. must not be cut or trimmed with the product.
REMAINING RISKS

Even if the product is used in accordance with the instructions it is impossible to rule out all risk factors. The following are potential risks associated with the type and design of the product:
– Damage to lungs (if an effective face mask is not worn).
– Damage to ears (if effective ear protection is not worn).
– Vibration injuries (if the product is used for long periods, or is not handled and maintained correctly). -

Always wear ear protection.
The declared vibration value, which has been measured by a standardised test method, can be used to compare different tools with each other and for a preliminary assessment of exposure. The measurement values have been determined in accordance with EN 50636.2.91:2014
WARNINCil
The actual vibration level when using power tools may differ from the
specified maximum value, depending on how the tool is used. It is therefore
necessary to determine which safety precautions are required to protect the
user, based on an estimate of exposure in actual operating conditions (taking
into account all stages of the work cycle, e.g. the time when the tool is
switched off and whenit is idling, in addition to the start-up time).

ASSEMBLY
IMPORTANT:
Do not put in the battery before the product is fully assembled and
adjusted. Wear safety gloves when working on the product. Unpack the product
and check that all the parts are included and undamaged.
FITTING THE SHAFT

FITTING THE HANDLE
- Release the knob that holds the fastener closed.

Put the handle in the fastener.

Tighten the knob to hold the handle firmly in place.

FITTING THE GUARD
Fit the guard on its holder with three screws. Firmly tighten the screws.

Fit the clips that hold the throttle wire.

Fit the carry strap as shown in the figure and adjust to make it comfortable.

FITTING THE TRIMMER SPOOL

Align the holes in the flange and the guard to each other.
-
Lock the flange with a hex key or the equivalent and undo the nut clockwise.

After removing the nut, release the inner cap. Lock the flange with a screwdriver, or equivalent. Place the trimmer spool on the axle. Twist the trimmer spool anticlockwise to lock it in place.

Remove the trimmer spool by locking the flange with a screwdriver or equivalent and twisting the trimmer spool clockwise to release it.
FITTING THE CLEARING BLADE

Undo the nut and remove the outer flange.

2. Fit the blade, the outer flange, the cap and the nut. Make sure to fit the blade with the direction of rotation specified on the machine.

Lock the flange using an hex key and tighten the nut firmly anti-clockwise.

Remove the clearing blade by locking the flange with a hex key or equivalent, lock the nut with a ring spanner, and then take off the blade.
INSERTING/REPLACING THE BATTERY

Charge the battery as described in the instructions for the charger.
-
Press the charged battery in the battery holder so that it clicks in place.

Press down the lock button and pull out the battery.

IMPORTANT:
Protect the battery terminals when the battery is not in use. Otherwise the
battery can be short circuited, which can result in a risk of fire and/or
explosion.
USE
INTENDED USE
- The product is intended for cutting/ trimming grass, brushwood and weeds.
- The brush cutter is intended for thick grass and twigs with a diameter of up to 2 cm.
- The trimmer head is intended for grass and non lignified weeds beside fences, walls, foundations, paths and round tree trunks.
- The product must only be used for its intended purpose and in accordance with these instructions. All other use is considered to be unsuitable. The manufacturer cannot accept liability for personal injury and/or material damage resulting from improper use. The full responsibility for any such personal injury and/or material damage rests on the user.
START/SWITCH OFF
IMPORTANT:
Check that the clearing blade is not touching the ground or an object when
starting the product – risk of serious personal injury.

HOW TO USE
Before using
Check that all the parts are correctly and firmly in place and that the product has no visible defects.
Keep the product correctly
- Always maintain a firm footing and good balance.
- Do not overreach.
- Do not use the product in bad weather or poor light.
- Stand with both feet firmly on the ground. Watch out for obstructions in the work area.
- Hold the product firmly with both hands in accordance with the instructions.
Tips
- For best results hold the trimmer head at a slight angle to the area to be trimmed. The product works best when it is moved from left to right over the area to be trimmed. It cuts less effectively when moved from right to left.
- Letthe tip of the trimmer line cut the grass. Do not force the trimmer head into uncut grass.
- Contact with solid objects, such as kurbstones, fences, walls and trees, rapidly wears the trimmer line and can also break t.
- Avoid contact with trees and bushes. Bark, fence posts and boarding etc. can easily become damaged by the trimmer line.
FEEDING OUT THE TRIMMER LINE
The product has automaticfeeding of the trimmer line. Bump the trimmer head
against the ground to feed out the line.

MAINTENANCE
WARNING!
Remove the battery from the product before cleaning, adjustment,
maintenance and/ or replacing accessories. Risk of cut injuries when handling
the clearing blade – wear safety gloves.
CLEANING
- Clean the product after it has been used for best functionality. Clean product with a soft brush.
- Keep the ventilation openings free from dust and dirt.
IMPORTANT:
Do not use water or liquid detergent.
REPLACING THE TRIMMER LINE
- Rem ave the battery.
- Remove the line spool from the trimmer head. Remove any remaining trimmer line from the spool.
- Cut about four metres of trimmer line.

Put the trimmer line in the anchor hole on the top of the spool. Make sure there is about two metres of wire both ways.

Wind the trimmer line clockwise round the top of the spool (see arrows on spool). Put the trimmer line in the slot on the top flange of the spool, so that about 15 cm of trimmer line sticks out from the slot. Do not wind on too much -when the trimmer line is wound on there should be at least 6 mm of free space between the trimmer line and the outer edge of the spool.

Replace the spool and spool casing as per the instructions above.

STORAGE
- Remove the battery from the product before putting into storage.
- Remove all foreign material from the product.
- Keep this product out of the reach of children.
- Store the product away from corrosive substances, such as salt.
- Charge and store batteries in a cool area . Temperatures over or below normal room temperature reduce battery life.
- Do not store discharged batteries. Allow the battery to cool and then charge it.
- Store the battery in a dry place at no more than 27°C.
- Batteries self-discharge, especially in high ambient temperature. For best battery life, charge the battery every or every other month, even when the product is not in use.
