APPLICATION
The two-way, bass-reflex, multimedia sound box is recommended primarily for home entertainment use. It is compact, easy to carry. The built-in battery allows operation without mains voltage. You can connect external devices directly, such as a mobile phone, computer, CD/DVD player, musical instrument, microphone… In addition to the speakers, the unit includes an amplifier and an FM/BT/MP3/WMA/WAV multimedia player. The accessories include a wired microphone, a remote controller and a USB charging cable. The KARAOKE function has a constant echo and enables mixing with signal sources.
CHARGING THE BATTERY
The battery must be charged before first use. Connect the supplied charging cable to the sound box (DC 5V, microUSB), and the other end to a USB power supply. This can be a USB mains or car charger, a “power bank”, or a USB socket on your computer. Recommended mains charger option: SA 24USB. Leave the sound box switched off. In charging mode, an LED illuminates next to the charging socket. It turns off when automatic charging is complete. Disconnect the charging cable then, or in no more than 6 hours from the sound box and the charger and start using the appliance. When the battery is fully discharged, the charging time is approximately 4.5 hours. The fully charged built-in battery offers about 13 hours of operation at medium volume. This also depends on the volume set, the mode selected and the ambient temperature. This was tested by listening to the radio at room temperature with the LEDs switched off.
- It is basically not recommended to charge the unit during use. This will increase charging time and may cause additional noise and overheating. The radio reception quality may also deteriorate. This device is intended for use with battery power.
- When you finish charging or use, turn the unit off with the -OFF ON+ knob on top of the sound box and unplug the charging cable.
- This product is designed to run from battery power, you are recommended to recharge it immediately after use.
- When the device is switched off, the automatic battery charger still works. Therefore, disconnect the charging cable when charging is complete.
- To increase lifetime, keep the battery charged when the unit is out of use.
- The battery used is of lithium-ion type. It requires no maintenance. At the end of its service life, it can be replaced after removing the back panel. The cover is secured by screws.
PUTTING INTO USE
Make sure that the unit is disconnected from the mains when making connections. Switch off both the sound box and the device to be connected. Make sure that the connectors have correct wiring and polarity. Keep the microphone cable and the audio cable away from power cords. Turn the unit on with the -OFF ON+ knob on the control panel, and BT mode will be activated. If you have a USB or microSD device inserted, it will start playing. If you previously switched it off using the remote controller, you can use it to switch it back on. If you turned the unit off using the knob on top of the sound box OFF, you can turn it on with the knob only.
- Neither the remote controller nor the on/off switch on the unit will completely de-energize the sound box.
- When the unit is switched off, the built-in automatic battery charger still remains active if you connect the charging cable.
VOLUME CONTROL AND FUNCTION SWITCHING
The volume can be adjusted using either the -OFF ON+ knob or the VOL+ / VOL- buttons on the remote controller. The two control options affect each other. When the volume is set using the remote controller, turning the knob will activate the volume set last with it. This can result in an unexpected volume change. The desired function can be selected by repeatedly pressing the MODE button (briefly on the unit but long, for 2s on the remote controller): FM RADIO – USB – microSD – BT – AUX (LINE)
Available multimedia functions: connection of an external device (AUX), microphone connection (MIC), wireless BT connection (BT), USB/microSD MP3 player. The available services may vary depending on the signal source used. Function associated with non connected devices are not available. For example, MP3 mode is unavailable when no USB or microSD storage device is connected, and AUX mode is unavailable without connecting an AUX cable. The AUX mode is activated when a plug of 3.5mm diameter (optional) is inserted and the message LINE is displayed.

MAXIMUM VOLUME
All speakers should be run in before normal use. During the first 30 to 50 hours of operation, they should be used at 50% volume. Higher volumes may, in certain cases, cause distorted, poor quality sound. This may be caused by an overly high input signal level. To avoid this, reduce the signal level from the external device (e.g., BT, AUX) or, if necessary, the volume of the sound box. The maximum volume of a system is the one, at which the sound produced is high quality and distortion free.
- Any further increase of the volume will not increase the output power, but raise the distortion of the system. This may damage the speakers, as well as cause defects.
TONE CONTROL
You can adjust the sound using the remote controller of the sound box. Note that different signal sources and volume levels may require different settings. Otherwise, the sound quality may deteriorate. Always find the best setting for the current program. Press the EQ button on the remote controller to access various setting modes: NORMAL, POP, ROCK, JAZZ, CLASSIC, CUT
- The EQ function is available in USB/microSD mode.
- In BT mode, correctly setting the volume and tone on the mobile phone is important for good sound quality.
- In AUX mode, correctly setting the volume and tone of the signal source is important for good sound quality.
WIRELESS BT CONNECTION
Within a maximum range of 10 meters, the unit can be paired with other equipment communicating according to the BT protocol. After pairing, you can listen to music played on your mobile phone, tablet, notebook or other similar device. Repeatedly press the MODE button (for 2s on the remote controller) to select the BT function. Place the device to be paired in the vicinity of the unit, and find nearby wireless BT devices, including this sound box, as described in its operating manual. Connect the two devices. After successful connection, the flashing BT indicator will start to illuminate continuously. Then you can listen to the desired program via the speakers. The player application on the playback device (e.g., a mobile phone) can usually be controlled remotely using the buttons of the control panel or remote controller.
- In BT mode, correctly setting the volume and tone on the mobile phone is important for good sound quality.
- One sound box can be paired with one BT signal source at a time.
- If the wireless connection is lost, turn BT mode off and back on if necessary. Press and hold the button for 3s. Then BT connection will be lost, and you can repeat the procedure to reactivate pairing mode. If necessary, turn off and back on the sound box or switch off and back on BT mode on the mobile device.
- If you receive a phone call to the connected mobile phone while listening to music, the music will pause. After your conversation, restart playback if it does not resume automatically.
- The actual range depends on the other device and the environmental conditions (e.g., walls, human bodies, other electrical appliances, motion…)
- Electrical devices operated nearby may cause abnormal operation or noise; this does not indicate a malfunction of the sound box!
- Abnormal operation may be caused by the individual characteristics of the external device; this is not a sign of product malfunction. In certain cases, the BT functionality may be limited, depending on the external device.
STEREO WIRELESS BT CONNECTION (TWS)
Two sound boxes of the same type and having the same BT name can be paired with each other and with a phone. In this case, the two sound boxes can return the right and left audio channels forming a wireless stereo sound system. First, turn off BT mode on your phone. Turn on both Sound boxes and make sure they are in BT mode. An acoustic signal will sound shortly, and one of the two flashing BT indicators will already illuminate continuously. Then two sound boxes will be automatically connected to each other. If this fails to happen automatically, press twice the /TWS button on one of the sound boxes. Then switch on the BT function on your phone and pair the sound box with the BT indicator still flashing with the phone.
- In stereo mode, the setting of one sound box (e.g., volume) will automatically take effect on the other sound box too.
- Disabling the TWS mode: Press and hold the /TWS button of one sound box for 3 seconds until an acoustic signal indicates that the two sound boxes are disconnected.
- The radio offers mono reception.
USING THE RADIO
Straighten the antenna wire on the back. If possible, attach the end to a higher point such as a shelf for better reception. Select the FM radio mode with the MODE button. The display shows the tuned frequency. To start automatic tuning and storage, press and hold the button on the unit or remote controller for about 2 seconds. When the setting is completed, the unit switches to the first found radio station. Other stored programs can be accessed by briefly pressing and holding the stepping keys. The display will show the programme positions CH01…CH02… for the current radio station. Press and hold one of the stepping keys to find the nearest radio station. You can also turn on automatic tuning and storage by pressing and holding the button on the remote controller. If you press the stepping keys briefly, you can scroll through the stored programs, while holding down makes the radio tune to the next station.
- The display shows the tuned frequency; for example 1031 = 103.1MHz
- Press the button briefly to mute the speakers.
- The search stops when it detects varying signal strength – this does not always mean that a radio program is found.
- The reception capability of the radio largely depends on the place of use and the current reception conditions.
- Do not place large metal objects or electrical equipment close to the device!
- Orient the antenna wire on the back to achieve the best reception. The positioning of the equipment can also affect the quality of reception.
- The LED light effect function is not available in radio mode.
MP3/WMA/WAV PLAYBACK from USB/microSD STORAGE MEDIA
The player is ready to play when the device is switched on. Carefully insert
the USB or microSD memory and the unit will automatically switch to USB/SD
mode and start playback. If necessary, use the MODE button to activate this
function or to switch between the two storage devices.
The display will show the number of the current programme and the elapsed
time, as well as the number of the song when stepping. To start playback,
press the button, but playback will also start automatically when the external
device is inserted. You can also use the same button to pause playback (PAUSE)
or to select the desired programme using the step buttons . Pressing and
holding the latter allows fast scanning. Some extra functions can only be
activated when the MP3 player is switched on. Use the REPE (REPEAT) button on
the remote control to select the playback mode. ONE: repeat current song, ALL:
repeat all songs. The EQ function described above is available only in MP3
mode.
- When the power is turned on, playback of the last programme you were listening to starts again.
- The recommended file system for the memory is FAT32. Do not use an NTFS formatted memory card.
- If the product gives no sound or does not recognise the USB/microSD memory, remove and reinsert the memory unit and select it again with the MODE button. If necessary, turn the power off and on again.
- Only remove the external memory after switching to a different source with the MODE button or switching off the player. Otherwise, the data may be damaged. Do not remove the connected external unit during playback!
- The USB/microSD device can only be inserted in one way. If it stops, turn it over and try again; do not force it. Do not touch the contacts with your hand.
- Be careful not to damage the devices protruding from the product.
- Abnormal operation may be caused by the individual characteristics of the storage device; this is not a sign of product malfunction.
- Do not charge devices (e.g., mobile phones) from the USB socket!
WIRED AUDIO INPUTS
The following input options are available to connect external devices with
headphone output or audio output to the sound box:
AUX: Ø3.5mm socket for headphone or LINE OUT output from an external
device (mobile phone, tablet, computer, multimedia player, musical instrument,
CD/DVD…). This input is activated automatically when an AUX plug is inserted
(optional). The display shows the message LINE.
MIC: Ø6.3mm echo enhanced socket for handheld microphone (included).
- The sound quality depends on the quality of the audio signal received from by the external device and its volume and tone settings. In AUX mode, correctly setting the volume and tone of the signal source is important for good sound quality.
- If the sound box receives weak signal (low volume), it may cause extra noise, while a too large signal may cause distortion. It is recommended to keep the volume of the source at medium level.
- To make the appropriate connection, you may need to buy a connection cable or, in some cases, an external adapter.
- For more information, see the user guide of the device you want to connect.
KARAOKE MICROPHONE FUNCTION
Turn down the MIC VOL control, then connect the supplied microphone to the MIC socket on the sound box. Before this, make sure that the microphone switch is in OFF position. Turn on the microphone, then slowly start increasing the microphone volume using the MIC VOL control. If necessary, also adjust the volume control on the sound box (-OFF ON +). Use the MODE button to select the signal source you want to sing with. The sound of the connected microphone is echoed.
- We recommend using the microphone with a signal source in AUX (LINE) or BT mode, as the function is optimized for these.
- The microphone cable can be removed from the handle by pressing the button on its plug.
- Place the connected microphone as far away from the sound box as possible to avoid feedback. Do not turn the speaker toward the microphone, as feedback will damage the speakers. We recommend using the microphone behind the sound box. When using a microphone, carefully increase the volume, and if you experience feedback, immediately turn back the control. If necessary, relocate the sound box.
LED light effect
When the sound box is turned on, the LED light effect is also activated. You can switch this on and off, or choose from many effects by using the (LED) button on the control panel. Some light effects work depending on the current volume and rhythm.
- You can also switch the light by briefly pressing the MODE button on the remote controller.
- Longer operating times can be achieved with the lights switched off.
- The LED light effect cannot be activated in FM radio mode.
Rolling sound box
Press the button on the top of the handle to extend the bar. This allows you to move the sound box on casters. Do not lift the unit by this handle! Use the carrying handle on the top of the sound box to lift it.
