COMMISSIONING
Connect the included connection cable to the microphone and then to the running personal computer. The computer will immediately recognize (Plug & Play) the new hardware. Then the parameters of the new microphone need to be set in the operating system. This may require various operations on each individual computer and operating system. The microphone is highly sensitive, thus it is recommended to set the sensitivity to a lower level in the computer software. Otherwise, it will pick up minor and more distant sounds, and noises as well. Proper settings require knowledge of the computer system itself. Consult an IT professional if necessary. The appliance should be set as the default sound recording device (microphone), and access to the microphone has to be enabled for various applications. • Installation of a driver is normally not required on computers. In case of certain DELL products, the microphone needs to be enabled in the device manager. • Set the volume control to a minimum level before connection or removal of the connector. • Increase the volume carefully during commissioning. • Do not place the microphone in the vicinity of a loudspeaker, as it can generate noise. • In order to avoid noise, place the microphone as far away from any loudspeakers as possible. • It is best to place the microphone behind the soundbox. • Pop noise can cause damage to hearing and malfunction of the speaker/appliance. • Do not touch the upper portion of the microphone during use, as this can cause noise. • Turn off or lower the volume level of the microphone before moving the appliance. • The vicinity of certain electrical appliances can cause interference or noise. • A volume set too low results in higher noise, while a volume set too high will result in distorted sound. Set the volume controls on the receiving device with care.
