CHARGING THE HEADSET
- Open the charging port cover on the headset remote, and plug the micro-USB end of the cable into the charging port.
- Plug the USB end of the cable to the USB port of the power source (PC, USB charger, etc.) Red light on: Charging Solid blue light: Fully charged
NOTE: The battery is recyclable. Batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) should not be exposed to excessive heat, such as direct sunlight, fire, radiant heater, etc.
PAIRING/CONNECTING
Pairing headset with B/uetooth cell phone via B/uetooth
Prior to using the headset for the first time, it must be paired with a 8
/uetooth-enabled cell phone.
The pairing procedures are subject to different models of cell phones. Please
refer to your cell phone
user’s manual for further information.
The general pairing procedures are as follows:
- Keep the headset turned off and within 1 meter of device.
- Press and hold MFB about 5 seconds until the red and blue LED flash alternately. The headset enters pairing mode and announces “The Bluetooth device is ready to pair.•
- Activate your cell phone’s B/uetooth function and search for B/uetooth devices within range. Select “Scosche BT-102” from the list of devices (enter password “0000” if the headset prompts).
- After successfully connecting, blue LED on the headset flashes once every second and announces “Bluetooth connected”.
Remarks:
- Pairing mode will last 2 minutes. The headset will revert back to standby mode if the pairing fails.
- If the pairing is not successful, turn off the headset and repeat the steps as above.
- When the headset is in standby mode and not connected with device, short press any button of headset – it will try to connect to last connected device.
- If the headset falls out of range and disconnects from a device, it will automatically reconnect if back in range within 5 minutes. If automatic reconnection does not occur within this time quickly press any button to reconnect.
PAIRING/CONNECTING (cont’d)
Pairing the headset with a Bluetooth transmitter via Bluetooth
You can connect the headset to a 8/uetooth transmitter (not included) to enjoy
wireless audio. An example of pairing steps follows. Transmitters may vary.
Consult your transmitter’s user manual for further infom1ation.
- Keep the headset and transmitter within 1 meter when pairing.
- Turn on the headset to enter pairing mode (make sure headset is not connected to another device).
- Turn on the Bluetooth transmitter and enter pairing mode (refer to the transmitter’s user’s manual). It will search for 8/uetooth devices automatically and send a pairing request.
- When the headset requests a PIN No., the transmitter will respond “0000” automatically.
- After a successful pairing and connection, the blue LED on the headset flashes once every second and announces “Bluetooth connected”
Remarks:
- The pairing password of BT102 is “0000.”
- If pairing still fails after several tries, please refer to the 8/uetooth transmitter’s user manual for further information.
HEADSET FUNCTIONS AND INDICATORS
- When the volume is adjusted to maximum level you will hear an audio prompt. When the volume is adjusted to minimum level, you will hear a low prompt tone.
- To use the remote control’s lasVnext song, pause/play functions, the 8/uetooth mobile phone or 8/uetooth transmitter paired with the headset must support AVRCP profile. Please refer to the user manual for your mobile phone or 8/uetooth transmitter for further information.
- For best results when calling, make sure the microphone is in close proximity to your mouth.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
- Keep headset dry. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight, and extreme heat or cold.
- Do not attempt to disassemble the product.
- Avoid dropping or exposing to hard impact.
- Do not use intensive chemical products or detergent to clean the product.
- Do not scratch the surface with sharp objects.
- Do not submerge headset
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: LISTENING TO MUSIC AT EXCESSIVE VOLUME CAN RESULT IN PERMANENT HEARING DAMAGE.
- Make sure volume is lowered before wearing headset. Hearing damage may occur from listening at high volume or sustained listening at unsafe volume levels.
- Ringing in the ears may indicate that the volume level is too high. We recommend lowering the volume.
- Do not use while driving, cycling, operating machinery, or in any manner that may impair awareness of your surroundings.
- If you are using the headphones with an airplane’s sound system, we recommend lowering the volume level so that the pilots’ messages do not cause discomfort to your ears.
- Have your ears checked by an audiologist regularly. If you are experiencing wax build up, stop using the headphones until an audiologist has examined your ears.
- Stop using the headphones if they begin to cause great discomfort or infection.
