CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

The FirstVu PRO body camera is a wearable device capable of recording video, audio, taking snapshots, and advanced features like streaming video. The FirstVu PRO is designed specifically for law enforcement. The features allow for law enforcement interacting with the public to capture a user’s point of view and provide a record of the event.

1.2 CHARGING
Charging is done through the USB Type-C connector. Open the rubber cover to access the USB Type-C connector. Replace the rubber cover when done – needed for sealing the body camera from possible water damage.

The body camera can be charged using the AC/DC adapter or the docking station. Charge times vary.

AC/DC adapter – 3 HOURS
QuickVu 24 Docking Station – 4 HOURS
QuickVu 8 Docking Station – 6 HOURS

1.3 SIM CARD INSTALLATION
The body camera can be connected to a cellular network. If a SIM Card needs to be replaced or installed:
A nano SIM Card is required.

Using the ejector pin, the tray can be removed to seat and install the Nano SIM card.

STEPS:

  1. Open the SIM tray with the ejector tool.
  2. Insert the SIM card into the tray.
  3. Install the SIM tray.

1.4 MOUNTING CLIP INSTALLATION
The body camera has a molded clip housing allowing for the use of different mounting options. The included wide fabric clip can be attached as shown below.

INSTALLATION STEPS:
Orient the wide fabric clip as shown and push the clip into the molded clip housing. A click will be heard when the clip is fully seated. To remove the wide fabric clip, press the spring clip and pull the wide fabric clip vertically from the molded clip housing.

CHAPTER 2: OPERATION

2.1 POWER-ON/OFF

To power ON the body camera, press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds. The body camera will vibrate and the Digital Ally logo will appear on the display. Once fully booted, the image from the camera will be displayed followed by an audible beep.

To power OFF the body camera, press and hold the Power button for 3 seconds. The body camera will produce two audible beeps and power off.

2.2 DISPLAY SCREENSAVER

The screensaver will turn OFF the display after the configured time with no operation. Pressing any button will wake the display. The configuration options are 15s, 30s, 1min, 2min.

2.3 STANDBY
After the body camera starts up, it enters into the preview mode automatically.

2.4 MENU
Press the Menu button to access the Playback, Functions, and General options from the Main Menu.

2.5 SNAPSHOT
Press the Snapshot button to take a still photo while in Standby or while recording a video – a camera shutter sound will be produced.

2.6 VIDEO RECORDING
Press the Video button to begin a recording.
The body camera will produce an audible beep, followed by the
Red Status LED blinking in sync with the Record icon on the display.
The Mark button can be pressed during the recording to tag the video as important.
Press the Video button again to stop the recording.
The body camera will produce two audible beeps.

2.7 AUDIO RECORDING
Press and hold the Audio button to begin an Audio recording.
The body camera will produce an audible beep, followed by the
Yellow Status LED blinking in sync with the Record icon on the display.
Press the Audio button again to stop the recording.
The body camera will produce two audible beeps.

2.8 PLAYBACK
Press the Menu Button to access the Main Menu.
Press the Playback icon on the display.
Press the Photo, Audio, or Video icon to access the recorded media.

CHAPTER 3 SETTINGS

3.1 VIDEO SETTINGS
3.1.1 RESOLUTION
The video resolution can be configured through the Menu Res.
Options include 19201080, 1280720, 848480, with 1280720 as the default.

3.1.2 FRAME RATE
The video frame rate can be configured through Menu
Options include 25fps, 30fps, with 30fps as the default.

3.1.3 BITRATE
The video bitrate can be configured through the Menu Bitrate.
Options include High, Standard, Low, with Standard as the default.

3.2 PRE EVENT
The pre-event time can be configured through the Menu
Options include 30S, 60S, 120S, Off, with Off as the default.
This option adds the configured pre-event time to the beginning of the video.

3.3 POST EVENT
The post-event time can be configured through the Menu
Options include SS, IOS, 1 SS, 30S, Off, with Off as the default
This option adds the configured post-event time to the end of the video.

3.4 PHOTO SETTINGS
3.4.1 RESOLUTION
The photo resolution can be configured through the
Menu > General> Preference> Photo Res.
Options include 40MP, 36MP, 20MP, 16MP, 12MP, 9MP, with 16MP

3.4.2 BURST MODE
The burst mode can be configured through the
Menu > General> Preference> Burst Mode.
Options include On, Off, with On as the default.

CHAPTER 4 NETWORK

4.1 CELLULAR NETWORK
Cellular connectivity requires the use of a SIM card and an active service plan.

4.2 WI-FI
Wi-Fi connectivity options can be configured through the Menu General Wireless WLAN

4.3 STREAMING PARAMETERS

4.5 GPS
With GPS enabled and locked, coordinates will be logged once per second during recording. Enable this feature through the
Menu > General> Preference> GPS

undesired operation.

Any changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance

protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates,
uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the

However, there is no guarantee that interference will not occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:

  • Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
  • Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
  • Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
  • Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.

This device meets the government’s requirements for exposure to radio waves. The guidelines are based on standards that were developed by independent scientific organizations through periodic and thorough evaluation of scientific studies. The standards include a substantial safety margin designed to assure the safety of all persons regardless of age or health. FCC RF Exposure
Information and Statement the SAR limit of USA (FCC) is 1.6 W/kg averaged over one gram of
tissue. Device types: Body Worn Camera (FCC ID: WPZFVPRO) has also been tested against this SAR limit. This device was tested for typical body-worn operations with the back of the device kept 10mm from the body. To maintain compliance with FCC RF exposure requirements, use accessories that maintain a 10mm separation distance between the user’s body and the back of the Body Worn Camera. The use of belt clips, holsters and similar accessories should not contain metallic components in its assembly. The use of accessories that do not satisfy these requirements may not comply with FCC RF exposure requirements, and should be avoided.
