1.1 Product Description
The product is a 12 V battery charger.
1.2 Intended use
The product is intended to be used for charging 12 V batteries. The product can also be used as an auxiliary starter for 12 V batteries. Do not use the product as a power source for low voltage systems.
1.3 Symbols
Read the operating instructions carefully and make sure that you understand the instructions before you use the product. Save the instructions for future reference.

This product complies with applicable EU directives and regulations.
Recycle as electrical waste.

2.2 Safety instructions for operation
Warning! If you do not obey these instructions, there is a risk of death or injury.

  • Read and understand the instructions before you use the product.
  • Save these instructions and safety instructions for future reference.
  • Do not use the product for tasks other than its intended purpose. The manufacturer cannot accept liability for any damage that is a result of improper use.
  • Use safety glasses. If you get battery fluid in your eyes, rinse your eyes with clean water for at least 10 minutes and then immediately seek medical attention.
  • If you get battery acid on your skin, rinse immediately with water and wash with soap and water. Seek medical attention if there is redness or if you feel pain or skin irritation.
  • Remove all metal objects from your body (for example rings, bracelets, necklaces, and watches) when you work with lead-acid batteries. If a metal object touches the terminals on a lead-acid battery, the lead-acid battery can produce a short-circuit current that can melt metal objects. Risk of burn injury.
  • Do not work with lead-acid batteries on your own.
  • Make sure that all electrical equipment in the vehicle is off.
  • Always disconnect the earthed battery terminal first to prevent sparks and arcing.
  • Do not operate the product if you are fatigued or easily distracted.
  • Do not operate the product if you are under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
  • Use common sense when you operate the product.
  • Keep the product away from moisture and water.
  • Do not immerse the product or any of its parts in water or other liquid. Risk of electric shock.
  • Do not touch the product with wet hands or other wet parts of your body. Risk of electric shock.
  • Do not operate the product in damp or wet environments.
  • Do not use the product to charge dry cell batteries. Risk of explosion.
  • Do not charge frozen batteries.
  • Do not charge a vehicle battery when the engine in the vehicle is in operation.
  • Do not put batteries on top of the product.
  • Do not charge batteries in boats, aircraft, or enclosed environments. Remove batteries from boats, aircraft, and enclosed environments before you charge the batteries.
  • Do not use the product with the 12 V socket in a vehicle if the fuse trips repeatedly when you connect the product. Do not change or modify the fuse.
  • Keep the product away from battery acid.
  • Do not put the product directly above the battery that you charge. Gases from the battery can cause damage to the product.
  • Do not smoke when you operate the product.
  • Make sure that there are no naked flames or sparks near the product or the battery that you charge.
  • Do not operate the product near flammable liquids or gases.
  • Do not use the product if parts are missing. Speak to the retailer if the product if parts are missing.
  • Do a check for wear and damage on the product before operating.
  • Do not use the product if it is damaged or defective. Speak to an authorized service center.
  • Do not let children younger than 8 years operate the product without supervision.
  • Do not let persons with physical, sensorial, or mental disabilities operate the product without supervision.
  • Do not let persons who do not have the required experience, knowledge, or training operate the product without training or supervision.
  • Do not let children play with the product.
  • Do not let children operate the product.
  • Do not let children clean or do maintenance on the product without supervision.
  • Keep the product away from children younger than 8 years.
  • Do not repair the product. A damaged or defective product must be repaired at an authorized service center. The manufacturer cannot accept liability for any damage that is a result of unauthorized repairs.
  • Only use accessories and parts that are approved by the manufacturer of the product.
  • Make sure that the clamps cannot short-circuit.
  • Make sure that you connect the clamps to the correct terminal on the battery.
  • Only operate the product in a well-ventilated area. Batteries emit explosive gas when they are in use and when they are charging.
  • Make sure that you follow the safety instructions for vehicles and other machines that are near the product when you operate the product. Risk of explosion.
  • Make sure that the product is put at least 50 cm above floor level when you operate the product in a closed environment.
  • Keep children and bystanders at a safe distance from the product when the product is in operation.
  • Do not attempt to open the product. Risk of electric shock.
  • Do not disassemble the product. The manufacturer cannot accept liability for any damage or injury that is a result of unauthorized disassembly.
  • Keep the product in dry and closed storage, away from children, when the product is not in operation.
  • Make sure that all switches are in the off position when the product is not in operation.
  • Make sure that the power plug is disconnected when the product is not in operation.
  • Make sure that all switches are in the OFF position before you clean or do maintenance on the product.
  • Clean the product regularly.

Operation

3.1 To do before you operate the product
Caution! Always refer to the operator’s manual for the battery before you charge the battery.

  • If you are charging a battery in a vehicle, make sure that it is possible to use an auxiliary starter.

Caution! The computer system in the vehicle can become damaged if it is not compatible with an auxiliary starter. Refer to the operator’s manual of the vehicle.

  • Make sure that the area is well-ventilated.
  • Make sure that the electrolyte level in the battery cells is correct. Fill with distilled water if it is necessary. Refer to the operator’s manual of the battery for instructions.
  • Make sure that the battery is a 12 V battery. Refer to the operator’s manual for the battery or the vehicle if you are not sure.
  • Clean the battery terminals and make sure that the is no corrosion.

**Warning!** Use safety glasses.

3.2 To connect the product to a battery

**Caution! Risk of short-circuiting. Make sure that the clips cannot touch each other.
Caution!** Put the product as far away as possible from the battery you connect it to. Do not put the product directly above the battery that you charge. Gases from the battery can cause damage to the product.

  1. Connect the charger to a power source. Symbols for voltage, clips, and battery level shows on the display.

  2. Connect the red positive (+) clip to the positive (+) terminal on the battery.

  3. Connect the black negative (-) clip to the negative (-) terminal on the battery.
    Note! If the clips are connected to the incorrect terminal, a warning sound will be heard. The display shows a warning symbol and the error code “Err”. The warning sound will stop when you disconnect the clips from the terminals.

  4. Disconnect the product from the battery in the opposite sequence.

Warning! Risk of electric shock. Always disconnect the black negative (-) clip first.

3.3 To charge a battery
Caution! Risk of short-circuiting. Make sure that the clips cannot touch each other.
Caution! If you are charging a battery in a vehicle, make sure that it is possible to use an auxiliary starter. The computer system in the vehicle can become damaged if it is not compatible with an auxiliary starter. Refer to the operator’s manual of the vehicle.
Caution! Always refer to the operator’s manual for the battery before you charge the battery.

  1. Connect the product to the battery. Refer to “3.2 To connect the product to a battery” on page 21.
  2. Press the “Charge” button. The product starts to charge the battery. The display shows the charging current, symbols for the clips, and a battery symbol that fills up as the battery is charged. When the battery is fully charged the product automatically switches to maintenance charging.

Note! The standard charging current is 10 A. If it is necessary to use a different charging current, press the “Charge rate” button to adjust the charging current to 1, 3, 5 or 10 A.
Note! If the product overheats, an overheat symbol shows on the display. The product will decrease the charging current automatically to decrease the temperature in the product.

3.4 To recondition a battery

  1. Connect the product to the battery. Refer to “3.2 To connect the product to a battery” on page 21.

  2. Press the “Record” button to select battery to recondition mode.
    Note! It is not possible to select battery to recondition mode if the “Charge” button has been pressed and the product is in charging mode. If the product is in charging mode, press the “Charge” button again to stop the charging mode before you press the “Record” button.

  3. Press the “Charge” button to start the recondition of the battery.
    Note! A battery recondition takes approximately 2 hours.
    The product switches to charging mode automatically when the battery recondition is finished.

  4. Repeat the battery recondition again and again until the performance of the battery has improved.

Note! If the performance of the battery does not improve after 5 operations, replace the battery.

Maintenance

4.1 To clean the product
Warning! Disconnect the power plug before you clean or do maintenance on the product.

  • Clean the product with a dry or damp cloth.

Storage

5.1 To put the product in storage

**Warning! Disconnect the power plug before you prepare the product for storage.
Caution!** Do not wind the power cord or clip cables around the charger housing.

  • Keep the product in a dry and well-ventilated environment and away from children.
  • Wind the power cord loosely on the power cord storage and put the power plug in the storage holder for the power plug.
  • Wind the clips cables loosely on the clips cables storage and attach the clips to the storage holders for the clips.

Disposal

6.1 To discard the product

  • Make sure that you follow local regulations when you discard the product. Do not burn the product.

Troubleshooting

Problem Cause Action
The product does not start. The power plug is not connected to a power
source. Make sure that the power plug is fully connected to a power source.
The power cord is damaged or defective. Speak to an authorized service

center.
The product does not charge the battery.| There is a bad connection between the product and the battery.| Do a check of all cables and connections. Clean the battery terminals if it is necessary.
The clips cables are damaged or defective.| Speak to an authorized service center.
The product does not charge the battery, the error code “LO” shows in the display and a warning signal is heard.| The voltage in the battery is too low| Only charge 12 V batteries.
