JULA 422020 Outdoor Lighting with Motion Sensor
English Read the Operating Instructions carefully before use!
DESCRIPTION
- Gasket
- Rubber seal
- Plastic plate
- Crosshead screw
OPERATION
The lamp has an infrared sensor. The lamp lights up when:
- The sensor detects “thermal motion” within the sensor range.
- It is dark enough.
Installation
Make sure the mains power supply is switched off before starting installation. Carefully read and follow the instructions below. Save these instructions for future reference.
- Drill two horizontal holes (∅ 5 mm) in the wall with a centre distance of 5 cm.
- Insert plugs in the holes.
- Insert the hexagonal screws in the plastic plate’s outer hole facing outwards.
- Insert the power cord through the rubber seal. Push the power cord through the plastic plate from behind and fit the rubber seal in the hole.
- Attach the plastic plate to the wall holes using the screws.
- Connect the cord to the terminal block. Brown or black (live) to brown, blue (neutral) to blue and green-yellow (earth) to green-yellow.
- Clamp the terminal block between the black pins on the inside of the plastic plate.
- Suspend the lamp on the fixed screws and secure with the white cover nuts.
- Put a light bulb in the fitting. Make sure the wattage does not exceed the maximum wattage rating printed on the label.
Setting
The sensor has two adjustment screws. One of these screws controls the time
the lamp is on each time it is activated. The other controls how dark it
should be (so that the lamp does not come on during the day if someone is
within the sensor range). Time setting (clock). The lamp comes on at an
adjustable time interval when someone activates the light by coming within the
sensing range. The time interval is 10 seconds to 12 minutes. Reduce the time
by turning the adjustment screw anti-clockwise and increase the time by
turning it clockwise.
Light setting (sun and moon). This sets the brightness at which the sensor
will begin to function. Turn the adjustment screw clockwise for later (darker)
activation of the sensor and anti-clockwise for earlier (lighter) activation.
Sensor range
The sensor detects at a range of 120° that extends 12 metres from the sensor.
The sensor is most sensitive to movements entering the detection area from the
side. It can take longer for the sensor to react to movements from straight
ahead. The lighting may not function satisfactorily:
- Due to ventilation, e.g. hot air exhaust, passing cars, nearby trees and bushes, sudden changes in temperature or high winds, strong electromagnetic radiation and shade.
- If the lighting does not work, the lamp may be broken, a fuse may have blown or there may have been a power failure.
- If the temperature difference between the object within the range and the surroundings is too small (e.g. in the summer) the lighting reacts later. The range is, for example, 10 metres instead of 12 metres.
MAINTENANCE
Replacing the bulb
- Switch off the power.
- Open the lid.
- Turn the bulb anti-clockwise.
- Carefully fit a new light bulb.
- Secure the cover glass in place before powering up.
Contact a qualified professional to carry out the installation. Failure to follow these instructions could result in serious personal injury or damage to property.
