Intended use:
The keymaXX CP-1 is a digital piano, designed to play sounds on the keyboard
and make them audible through built-in speakers or headphones. Improper use of
the product is considered improper and can lead to personal injury or property
damage. No liability is assumed for damage resulting from improper use. It
must be ensured that the device is operated exclusively by trained and
competent users who are in full possession of their mental, physical and
sensory abilities. The use by other persons is only permitted under the
supervision or guidance of a person responsible for their safety.
Important safety instructions! Please read before the connection

CAUTION! (Electro Magnetic Interference)
The normal function of the product may be disturbed by Strong Electro Magnetic Interference. If so, simply reset the product to resume normal operation by following the owner‘s manual. In case the function could not resume, please use the product in other location. -
DANGER! (For babies and children)
- Dispose of or store any packaging material properly! Packaging material must be kept out of the reach of babies and children due to the danger of suffocation.
- Make sure that children never use the device unattended! In addition, make sure that children do not remove (small) parts from the device, as they could suffocate by swallowing parts!

DANGER! (Electric shock due to high voltages in the device)
- The housing must not be removed! There are no parts to be maintained in the device. Inside the unit there are components that are under high electrical voltage.
- Before each use, check the device for damage or the absence of components, protective devices or housing parts. If this is the case, do not use the device! Leave maintenance and repair work to a qualified service workshop or contact your dealer.

DANGER! (Electric shock due to short circuit)
- Modifications to the power cord or plug are prohibited. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced immediately with an original spare part from the manufacturer. Failure to do so may result in fire or death due to electric shock!

WARNING! (Damage to hearing)
The unit may generate volumes that may cause temporary or permanent hearing- loss. Over time, even seemingly uncritical levels can cause hearing damage. Reduce the volume immediately if ear noise or hearing loss occurs. If this is not possible, keep a greater distance or use adequate hearing protection. -
Hint! (Fire hazard due to overheating)
- The maximum permissible ambient temperature of this device is 40°C.
- Ensure that the unit is placed in a place with adequate ventilation, out of the reach of direct heat sources, naked flames and combustible materials and liquids.
- The ventilation slots of the device must not be taped or covered.

Hint! (Operating conditions)
- Due to its structural characteristics, the device is designed for indoor operation (IP20). Never expose the device to rain, moisture or liquids as this may cause damage.
- Vibrations, dust or solar radiation can also lead to damage, avoid them! Do not apply excessive force to the switches or controls.
- Do not let paper, metallic, or other objects into the instrument. If this happens, remove the electric plug from the outlet. Then have the instrument inspected by qualified service personnel.
- Disconnect all cables before moving the instrument.

Hint! (Power supply)
- It is essential that you check that the device voltage matches your local mains voltage. It is highly recommended that you fuse your mains socket with a residual current circuit breaker (FI).
- Please connect the designated AC adaptor to an AC outlet.
- If you do not use your device for a longer period of time, disconnect it from the power supply in order to minimize danger. The same applies to storm conditions such as thunderstorms, floods, etc.

Hint! (Commissioning)
- All connections of the device should be made before switching on. Use only high-quality cables for connections.

Hint! (Installation)
- Be sure to inspect the device for damage before using. Optimum use of the original packaging or suitable transport or storage packaging to protect the product when not in use optimally against influences such as dust or moisture, etc.

Hint! (Possible damage due to magnetic fields)
- Loudspeakers generate a static magnetic field. Please keep an appropriate distance from other equipment that may be affected or damaged by an external magnetic field.

Hint! (Interferences with other electrical devices)
Radios and televisions placed nearby may experience reception interference. Operate this unit at a suitable distance from radios and televisions.
If this equipment does cause harmful interference to radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:- Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna
- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
THE FCC REGULATION WARNING (for USA)
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class
B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules.
These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful
interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses,
and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in
accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio
communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not
occur in a particular installation.
Symbols on device and packaging:
- The lightning flash symbol warns the user about non-insulated current and the risk of electrocution
- The exclamation mark symbol warns the user about important maintenance and operating instructions in the manual

Cleaning
A regular cleaning of the device from impurities and dust increases the durability of the product. Always disconnect the device from the power supply before cleaning it! Never clean the appliance wet! Optical lenses should be cleaned with a dry microfiber cloth to optimize light output. Ventilation grilles and openings should always be cleaned of dust and dirt. Suitable compressed air sprays are recommended for this application.

Disposal of packaging:
Ensure that paper packaging, plastic material, etc. are recycled separately. Observe the labels and the corresponding regulations. -
Disposal of batteries:
Batteries do not belong in the garbage! Please dispose of batteries in accordance with official regulations at collection points or disposal stations. -
Disposal of your old device:
- Do not dispose of the device with household waste! This device is subject to the WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) in its currently valid version.

CONNECTIONS IN DETAIL
Connecting headphones
The instrument has 2 headphone jacks (6.35 mm stereo) so that two headphones
can be connected to the instrument and used simultaneously. This allows two
players to play together without disturbing others.
- Set the volume to minimum.
- Connect 1 or 2 headphones to the front.
When you connect headphones, the instrument’s speaker is disconnected and switched to the headphone outputs.
Connecting to external audio equipment
- Set the volume to the minimum.
- Use the [AUDIO OUT] jack (6.35 mm stereo jack) on the back of the unit to connect the CP-1 to a mixer, audio interface or external speakers.
When you plug a cable into the audio output, the internal speaker is switched off and output on the stereo output.
USB Host port
Use the [USB-MIDI] socket (type B) on the rear panel to connect a computer or
smart device and receive or send MIDI data.
Stereo audio input jack
There is a stereo [AUDIO IN] jack {6.35 mm stereo jack) on the back of the
instrument for connecting audio sources.
- Turn on the instrument and turn down the volume.
- Use an audio cable to connect the smart device or a CD player to the digital piano.
- Turn on the instrument.
Use with MIDI equipment
- MIDI In : Via the MIDI input, the CP-1 can be played by an external device such as a sequencer or groove box. The CP-1 then functions as a sound generator.
- MIDI OUT: Via the MIDI output, the CP-1 is able to play external sound generators such as rack expanders or desktop synthesizers, thus turning the CP-1 into a master keyboard.
OPERATION GUIDE
Selecting tone and rhythm
- Press the Tone/Rhythm button to enter Tone or Rhythm mode; the status of the option is shown in the display.
- In Tone mode, press Selection +/- to select the desired tone. Refer to the sound list in the appendix for the number of the sound you are looking for.
- In rhythm mode, press Selection +/- to select the desired rhythm. For the number of the rhythm you are looking for, see the list of styles in the appendix.
When you turn on the instrument, the first preset sound is always “Acoustic Grand Piano”.
Playing MP3 files and Bluetooth audio

MP3 mode
When the digital piano is turned on, it is in Bluetooth standby mode by default. Insert a USB flash drive to switch to read status, the status indicator will start flashing. Press the “Play/Stop” button to start or stop playback. Press the “Previous” button to play the previous song or press “Next” to play the next song. Press and hold the “Previous” key to decrease the MP3 volume. Press and hold the “Next” button to increase the MP3 volume. -
Bluetooth
Switch on the Bluetooth function in your smart device and search for a suitable Bluetooth device (MIDI--). Once connected, you can play music files and web content (e.g. Youtube or Spotify) through the speakers of the CP-1. You can use the “Previous” and “Next” buttons in Bluetooth mode in the same way as MP3 mode. Alternatively, you can change tracks and change the volume on your Smart device.

Extended functionality with external software
The CP-1 can be connected to a computer or smart device via USB. Music
software (DAW or piano learning program) installed on these devices enables
recording and playback of played notes. It is also possible to use the CP-1 to
play other software instruments on the computer.
Using the chord function
By pressing the Tone/Rhythm and Function/Trans buttons simultaneously, you can
control the behaviour of the chord.
Using the rhythm function

Start the rhythm:
- Press the “Start/Stop” button to start the automatic rhythm accompaniment.
- Press the “Intro/Ending” button, the intro starts playing, then the basic rhythm starts playing.
- If you press the “Start/Stop” button until the rhythm indicator flashes in the display, the automatic rhythm synchronisation function starts. As soon as you start playing on the left side of the keyboard, the automatic rhythm accompaniment starts.
- After the automatic rhythm synchronisation function has started, press the “Intro/Ending” button to start the intro and then start the basic rhythm performance.
- Press the “Intro/Ending” button while the rhythm is stopped and during the synchronised start, and the “Intro/Ending” light will come on. As soon as you play on the left side of the keyboard, the intro playback starts, and then the basic rhythm performance starts.

Add fill-ins and variations:
Auto rhythm has two variation modes: A accompaniment mode and B accompaniment mode. During automatic rhythm accompaniment, press the [A/ Insert 1] button, the LED of [A/ Insert 1] lights up and the instrument plays a passage with accompaniment and then switches to A accompaniment mode for playing. Press the [B/ Insert 2] button, the LED of [B/ Insert 2] lights up and the digital piano plays another passage with accompaniment and then switches to B accompaniment mode for playing. -
Stop the automatic rhythm:
Press the “Start/Stop” button to stop the automatic rhythm accompaniment during rhythm playback. Press the “Intro/Ending” button during rhythm playback to stop the automatic rhythm after playback is finished.

Activating the recording function and playback
- Record : Press the “Start/Stop” and “Intro/Ending” buttons simultaneously. As soon as the recording indicator lights up in the display, this indicates that the instrument is ready for recording. The metronome starts automatically at that moment, but can be stopped by pressing the metronome button again. The recording starts the moment you press a key on the keyboard or start the automatic accompaniment. To stop the recording, press the “Start/Stop” and “Intro/Ending” buttons again.
- Playback : Press the “Insert 1” and “Insert 2” keys simultaneously, the playback indicator in the display lights up and the recorded music is played back.

Playing the demo songs
200 demo songs are pre-programmed in the CP-1. By pressing the “Selection+” and “Selection-” keys simultaneously, the demo song is played continuously; the display shows the current title number. By pressing the “Selection+/-” keys once or repeatedly, you can select another demo song. -
Using the metronome
Press the metronome button and the metronome indicator lights up to start the metronome. Press the metronome button again to stop the metronome function and the metronome indicator goes off. -
Using the tempo button
Press the Tempo button and the display shows the current speed of the metronome in BPM values (beats per minute). By pressing the “Selection+/-” button, you can set the tempo to a higher or lower value. When you switch on the instrument, the preset default speed is restored. -
Settings memory
There are two memory buttons that can be used to store the CP-1’s setting parameters for quick recall while playing. After changing the current parameters to be stored, you can press the “Store 1” or “Store 2” button, the corresponding indicator will flash, and the current setting will be stored.
Using Function/Transposition
Various settings and parameters can be accessed via Function/Transposition.
Press and hold the “Function/Trans” key, this will take you to the function
menu. By pressing the “Selection +/-” keys, you reach the desired function. If
no further settings are made, the function menu will automatically close after
5 seconds.
Press the “Function/Trans” button to enter the setting mode as follows:
- auto accompaniment volume: Press Selection+/- to adjust the accompaniment volume.
- keyboard transpose: Press Selection+/- to set the transpose value. 3.
- adjusting the velocity curve: press Selection+/- to select one of the four modes. (off, heavy, medium, light)
- dual tone mode: press Selection+ to switch on dual tone mode and Selection- to switch off dual tone mode.
- Split mode: Press Selection+ to switch on the split mode and Selection- to switch off the split mode. 6.
- Percussion mode: Press Selection+ to switch percussion mode on and Selection- to switch percussion mode off. 7.
- Metronome/beat type: Press Selection+/- to set the metronome/beat type.
