Safety
The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by improper use or installation. If subsequent modifications are made to the luminaire, the person responsible for these modifications shall be considered the manufacturer.
Important:
An USB-C plug-in power supply unit (5 V / 3 A) is required to charge the
table lamp, which satisfies the safety requirements laid out in IEC 62368-1
and IEC 62680-1-3.
Startup procedure
The luminaire contains a rechargeable lithiumion battery.
The battery must be charged fully before initial use of the luminaire. Only
then will the luminaire be ready for the stated operating time.
A connecting cable for the connection between charger and luminaire is
provided.
The green LED located between the switch and the charging jack will light
continuously wile the charging process continues.
Charging can also be done when the luminaire is switched on. In this case,
protection class IP 54 is not achieved in the area of the USB charging socket.
The LED will switch off, once the battery has reached its full capacity. The
green LED (battery not connected or defective) will flash in case of a fault.
The 4-step dimmable luminaire is switched on at full intensity with a single
push of the button integrated into its base. Each additional push of the
button will reduce the luminous intensity by 25 %.
The operating time of the luminaire at full brightness will be around 12
hours.
The battery comes equipped with an integrated fuse. The service life will not
be reduced if the battery remains connected to the power supply unit beyond
the stated charging time.
To ensure that the luminaire is more stable outdoors, the enclosed round plate
can be screwed under the base.
Cleaning · Maintenance
Clean dirt and debris from the luminaire regularly with a clean, soft, lint-
free cloth that is kept damp throughout the cleaning.
If possible, please use water for this, adding a little commercial dishwashing
detergent.
For lacquered surfaces we recommend the use of BEGA Lacquer Care Set 71 179.
Cleaning agents containing solvents and high-pressure cleaners are unsuitable
for cleaning and maintenance.
Replacing the LED module
The LED module in this luminaire may only be replaced by the manufacturer, by a service technician commissioned by the manufacturer, or by a similarly qualified professional.
Replacing the lithium-ion battery
Unscrew the three hexagon socket screws (wrench size 2.5) in the base plate to
replace the battery. Pull out the base plate complete with the battery holder
from the luminaire base. Make sure not to damage the charging jack and switch
in the process. Disconnect the connecting cables from the terminals, and
remove the defective battery. Insert and connect the new battery. Please
ensure that the connecting cables are correctly assigned.
Connect the black wire to (-), and the red wire to (+) the terminal marked
“BAT”.
Do not dispose of the battery in household waste. Comply with national
regulations for the disposal of batteries.
