• Special notes on LCD monitors
  • The following are normal with the LCD monitor and do not indicate a problem.
  • Due to the nature of the fluorescent light, the screen may flicker during initial use. Turn off the power switch and then turn it on again to make sure the flicker disappears.
  • You may find slightly uneven brightness on the screen depending on the desktop pattern you use.
  • The LCD screen has 99.99% or more effective pixels. It may include blemishes of 0.01% or less such as a missing pixel or pixel lit all the time.
  • Due to the nature of the LCD screen, an afterimage of the previous screen may remain after switching the image, when the same image is displayed for hours.
  • In this case, the screen is recovered slowly by changing the image or turning off the power switch for a few hours.
• Cleaning your monitor
  • Please carefully follow these guidelines when cleaning the monitor:
  • Always unplug the monitor before cleaning.
  • Use a soft cloth to wipe the screen and cabinet front and sides.

Safe listening

• To protect your hearing, follow these instructions.

• These openings must not be blocked or covered. The openings should never be blocked by placing the product on a bed, sofa, rug, or other similar surface.
• This product should never be placed near or over a radiator or heat register, or in a built-in installation unless proper ventilation is provided.
• Never push objects of any kind into this product through cabinet slots as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-out parts that could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind onto or into the product.
• To avoid damage to internal components and to prevent battery leakage, do not place the product on a vibrating surface.
• Never use it under sports, exercising, or any vibrating environment which will probably cause unexpected short currents or damage internal devices.
• The adapter is only used for this monitor, it cannot be used for other purposes.

Using electrical power

• This product should be operated from the type of power indicated on the marking label.
• If you are not sure of the type of power available, consult your dealer or local power company.
• Do not allow anything to rest on the power cord. Do not locate this product where people will walk on the cord.
• If an extension cord is used with this product, make sure that the total ampere rating of the equipment plugged into the extension cord does not exceed the extension cord ampere rating.
• Also, make sure that the total rating of all products plugged into the wall outlet does not exceed the fuse rating.
• Do not overload a power outlet, strip, or receptacle by plugging in too many devices. The overall system load must not exceed 80% of the branch circuit rating. If power strips are used, the load should not exceed 80% of the power strip’s input rating.
• This product’s power cord is equipped with a three-wire grounded plug.
• The plug only fits in a grounded power outlet. Make sure the power outlet is properly grounded before inserting the power cord plug. Do not insert the plug into a non-grounded power outlet. Contact your electrician for details.

Tips and information for comfortable use

SCREEN POSITION ADJUSTMENT

• In oder to optimize the best viewing position, you can adjust the height/tilt of the monitor.

Height Adjustment

• After pressing the top of the monitor then you can adjust the height of the monitor.

Tilt

• Please see the illustration below for an example of the tilt range.
• Only at the highest point can 35 degrees of recline be offered for the angle of elevation.

Swivel

• With the built-in pedestal, you can swivel the monitor for the most comfortable viewing angle.

Monitor Pivot

• Before rotating the display, lift it to the top position and then push it back to the utmost degree.
• Rotate clockwise or counter-clockwise until the monitor stops at ±90

Connecting the AC Power cord

• Check first to make sure that the power cord you use is the correct type required for your area.
• The monitor has a universal power supply that allows operation in either 100/120 V AC or 220/240 V AC voltage areas. No user adjustment is required.
• Plug one end of the AC power cord into the Adapter, and plug the other end into an AC outlet.
• For units using 120 V AC:
• Use a UL-listed cord set, type SVT wire, and plug rated 10 A/125 V.
• For units using 220/240 V AC:
• Use a cord set consisting of an H05VV-F cord and plug rated 10 A/250 V. The cord set should have the appropriate safety approvals for the country in which the equipment will be installed.

Power saving
The monitor will be driven into “Power Saving” mode by the control signal from the display controller, as indicated by the amber-color power LED.

The power saving states will be kept until a control signal has been detected or the keyboard or mouse is activated. The recovery time from the Active OFF state back to the ON state is around 3 seconds.

Display Data Channel (DDC)

• To make installation easier, so long as your system supports the DDC protocol, the monitor can plug and play.
• The DDC is a communication protocol through which the monitor automatically informs the host system about its capabilities; for example, supported resolutions and corresponding timing.
• The monitor supports the DDC2B standard.

Installation

1. Turn off your computer and unplug your computer’s power cord.
2. Connect the signal cable to the VGA and /or HDMI1.4 (optional) and /or DP (optional) input socket of the monitor, and the VGA and /or HDMI1.4 (optional) and /or DP (optional) output socket of the graphics card on the computer. Then tighten the thumbscrews on the signal cable connector.
3. Connect the USB Cable(Optional)
4. Optional: Connect the audio input socket (AUDIO IN) of the LCD monitor and the line-out port on the computer with the audio cable.
5. Insert the monitor power cable into the power port at the back of the monitor.
6. Connect the power cord to the monitor, then to a properly grounded AC outlet.

AMD FreeSync(DP/HDMI):

• It can allow an AMD FreeSync-supported graphics source to dynamically adjust display refresh rate based on typical content frame rates for power efficient, virtually stutter, and low-latency display updates.

Using the Shortcut Menu

Note: The following content is for general reference only. Actual product specifications may vary.
The OSD (onscreen display) can be used to adjust the settings of your LCD monitor. Press the MENU key to open the OSD. You can use the OSD to adjust the picture quality, OSD position, and general settings. For advanced settings, please refer to the following page:

Main page

Hot key1 (default: Standard mode)
To choose scenario mode(sRGB,Reading,Darkroom,User, Standard, ECO, Graphics, Movie)

Hot key2 (default: Brightness)
Open the Brightness control and select your preferred brightness setting. When you are done, press the joystick to quit the current page and store it.

Selecting the input
Open the Input control and select VGA IN, HDMI1.4, DP, or Auto Source. When you are done, press the joystick to exit the current page and store it.

Main menu

1. Press the MENU key to open the OSD.
2. Toggle the joystick to the up or down to select Picture from the OSD. The toggle to the right navigates to the element you wish to adjust and press the joystick to enter it.
3. Toggle the joystick to the left or right to adjust the sliding scales.
   • Information Hot Key : Show Monitor Information and Reset the control function.
   • Modes Hot Key : To change Modes Hot Key menu.
   • Exit Hot Key X-: To exit the current page and store.

Picture

1. Press the MENU key to open the OSD.
2. Toggle the joystick to the up or down to select Picture from the OSD. Then toggle to the right to navigate to the element you wish to adjust and press the joystick to enter it.
3. Toggle to the left or right to adjust the sliding scales.
4. The Picture menu can be used to adjust the Brightness, Contrast, Black Boost, blue light, ACM, Super Sharpness, Auto Config, H. Position, V. Position, Focus, and Clock.
5. Brightness: Adjust the brightness from 0 to 100.
   • Note: Adjust the balance between light and dark shades.
6. Contrast: Adjust the contrast from 0 to 100.
   • Note: Sets the degree of difference between light and dark areas.
7. Black Boost: Adjust the black level from 0 to 10. Enhances shadows by increasing the brightness without changing lighter shades.
8. Low Blue Light: The display uses the low blue light solution. Default setting (Low Blue Light=Standard, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Level 4).
9. ACM: Turn ACM on or off.
   • Note: Set to “On”, will be based on the current screen to dynamic contrast adjustment.
10. Super Sharpness: Turn the Super Sharpness On or Off. Super Sharpness technology can simulate high-resolution images by boosting the pixel density of the source to make images sharper and clearer..

Color

1. Press the MENU key to open the OSD.
2. Toggle the joystick to the up or down to select Color from the OSD. Then toggle to the right to navigate to the element you wish to adjust and press the joystick to enter it.
3. Toggle to the left or right to adjust the sliding scales.
4. Gamma mode allows you to adjust the luminance tone. The default value is 2.2 (standard value for Windows).
5. Color temperature: The default is warm. You can choose Cool, Normal, Warm, Bluelight, or User.
6. Modes: To choose scenario mode.
7. sRGB: Default is off. You can turn sRGB on or off to better color match with peripheral devices, such as printers and digital cameras.
8. Grayscale Mode: To choose Grayscale mode.
9. 6-axis Hue: Adjust the red, green, blue, yellow, magenta and cyan hue.
10. 6-axis Saturate: Adjust the red, green, blue, yellow, magenta, and cyan saturation.

Audio

1. Press the MENU key to open the OSD.
2. Toggle the joystick to the up or down to select Audio from the OSD. Then toggle to the right to navigate to the element you wish to adjust and press the joystick to enter it.
3. Toggle to the left or right to adjust the sliding scales.
4. Volume: Adjust the volume
5. Mute: To choose mute on/off.

Performance

1. Press the MENU key to open the OSD.
2. Toggle the joystick to the up or down to select Gaming from the OSD. Then toggle to the right to navigate to the element you wish to adjust and press the joystick to enter it.
3. Toggle to the left or right to control functions.
4. OverDrive: Select Off, Normal, or Extreme.
5. AMD FreeSync: To choose AMD FreeSync on/off.
6. VRB: To choose VRB on/off.
7. Refresh rate num: Display the panel’s current refresh rate on the screen.
   • Note: If AMD FreeSync is set to “On” you can see the V Frequency to changes in the OSD.

OSD

1. Press the MENU key to open the OSD.
2. Toggle the joystick to the up or down to select OSD from the OSD. Then toggle to the right to navigate to the element you wish to adjust and press the joystick to enter it.
3. Toggle to the left or right to adjust the sliding scales.
4. Language: Set the OSD menu language.
5. OSD timeout: Adjust the delay before turning off the OSD menu.
6. Transparency: Select the transparency when using gaming mode. The transparency can be 0% (OFF), 20%, 40%, 60%, or 80%.
7. OSD Lock: To choose OSD lock on/off.

Note:

OSD Locked:

• Set the OSD Lock to “On” by the OSD option and press “Enter” to execute the

All Key lock functions.

• The “OSD Locked” message will be displayed in the middle of the screen.
• LED lights will be changed from Low Blue Light to orange light.
• Press any Key screen to prompt the “OSD Locked” message.

OSD Unlocked:

• In normal display conditions press the “Navi Key” in the middle of more than 3 seconds to trigger “OSD Unlock”.
• The “OSD Unlock” message will be displayed in the middle of the screen.
• LED lights will be restored to Low Blue Light.

System

1. Press the MENU key to open the OSD.

2. Toggle the joystick to the up or down to select System from the OSD. Then toggle to the right to navigate to the element you wish to adjust and press the joystick to enter it.

3. Toggle to the left or right to control functions.

4. Input: Select the source from VGA IN, HDMI1.4, DP.

5. Auto Source: The default is “On”, which can support the auto search for the signal sources in order.
   Note: Surround application must set Auto Source as “Off”.

6. Wide mode: You can select which screen aspect you are using. The options are Aspect and Full.

7. Hot Key Assignment: Select the function of shortcut key 1(Modes, Volume, Brightness, Gamma, Contrast, Low Blue Light, OverDrive) and shortcut keys 2 (Modes, Volume, Brightness, Gamma, Contrast, Low Blue Light, OverDrive).

8. DDC/CI: Allows the monitor settings to be set through the software on the PC.

9. Note: DDC/CI, short for Display Data Channel/Command Interface, allows monitor controls to be sent via software.

10. HDMI Black Level: Select to set HDMI1.4 black level.

11. Quick start mode: Select Off or On. Turn on to speed up the boot speed.

Save Setting to…(User mode only)

1. Press the MENU key to open the OSD.
2. Toggle the joystick to the up or down to select “Save Setting to…” from the OSD. Then toggle to the right to navigate to the element you wish to adjust and press the joystick to enter it.
3. Save Setting to Game mode: There are three user-defined profiles available. When you have decided what settings suit you, save them and the system will be able to recall the settings in the future when you turn on gaming mode.

Troubleshooting

Before sending your LCD monitor for servicing, please check the troubleshooting list below to see if you can self-diagnose the problem.
VGA IN/HDMI1.4/DP Mode (Optional)

to maximum or reset to their default setting.
| Off| Check the power switch. Check if the AC power cord is properly connected to the monitor.
| Amber| Check if the video signal cable is properly connected at the back of the monitor. Check if the computer system is switched on and in power saving/standby mode. **** If the OSD Lock is On, the LED status is set to Amber.

Note: Acer monitor is purposed for video and visual display of information obtained from electronic devices.
