Installation Method

Remove contents from packaging.
Place light head upside down. Follow the directions to push the light from the panel head.
Locate the ON/OFF power switch and the Mode button by removing the panel head.
Switch button to ON to activate battery & controller. Press the MODE button to select desired brightness settings.
Choose between Surface mount using supplied screws or Spike mount for installation. Use provided accessories.
Remove protective membrane from solar panel to activate the light.

Important Notes

Place solar panel where it can receive a minimum of 6 hours of direct sunlight.
On overcast days, the solar panel will still charge but less efficiently, affecting battery capacity.
Avoid installing lights under street lights or porch lights to prevent sensor issues.

Troubleshooting

Phenomenon: Light won’t turn on
- Cause: Switch hasn’t been turned on
- Inspection Method: Determine switch position
- Solution: Turn the switch on
Phenomenon: Light only stays on for a short amount of time
- Cause: Battery has run flat
- Inspection Method: Period of rainy or cloudy weather, insufficient sunlight
- Solution: Charge the light in direct sunlight for 1-2 days
Phenomenon: Low Battery
- Cause: Bad installation site for the solar panel, dust/leaves covering the panel, long overcast weather
- Solution: Charge the battery in direct sunlight for 1-2 days, clean the solar panel
Phenomenon: Battery Failure
- Cause: Battery has matured
- Solution: Contact SLD Customer Service for new batteries

How do I replace old batteries?

Contact SLD Customer Service for new batteries.

Remove contents from packaging.
Place light head upside down. If you look closely you will see directions on which way to push the light from the panel head.
Once the panel head is off you will be able to locate the “ON/OFF” power switch, and the “Mode” button.
Switch button to “ON” to activate battery & controller. By pressing the “MODE” button, select your desired brightness (25%,50%,75% or 100%) – See lumens for each in FEATURES.
Decide on your installation process, either Surface mount using supplied screws or Spike mount. Locate and use the following accessories:
- (A) Surface Mount – Attach the two poles by connecting the ends together (FIGURE 1). Connect the surface mount base on the bottom of the post & using the supplied fixings, secure to a solid base (FIGURE 2).
- (B) Spike Mount – The spike can be found tucked in. the cardboard packaging. Remove spike & re-install surface mount base. Press spike into the underside and install in your chosen location. (FIGURE 3).
Remove protective membrane from solar panel & your light is now ready for use.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Please ensure you place your solar panel in a location where it can achieve a minimum of 6HRS DIRECT SUNLIGHT.
Be aware that on overcast/cloudy days, the solar panel will still charge. However, not as efficiently as a sunny day, so the battery may not reach full capacity. Therefore, your light may turn off earlier than specified.
It’s best not to install these lights underneath a street light, porch light etc. because this may stop the automatic day-night sensor triggering and result in your lights not turning on.
