Safety Notes

  • Use the product for its intended purpose only.
  • Do not operate the product outside the power limits given in the specifications.
  • Protect the product from dirt, moisture, and overheating, and only use it in an adry environment.
  • Do not bend or crush the cable.
  • Do not drop the product and do not expose it to any major shocks.
  • Always pull directly on the plug when disconnecting the cable, never on the cable itself.
  • Keep this product, as all electrical products, out of the reach of children!
  • Dispose of packaging material immediately according to locally applicable regulations.
  • Do not modify the product in any way. Doing so voids the warranty.
  • When using this product, observe the applicable local traffic laws and regulations.
  • Take care that components such as airbags, safety areas, controls, instruments, etc., and visibility are not blocked or restricted.

Note

  • For some vehicle types, the ignition has to be switched on to supply power to the 12 Vicar sockets. Formore information, please refer to your vehicle operating instructions.
  • Disconnect all cable and onboard connections after use.

Warning

  • Only use the power converter with suitable car electrical systems that produce 12 VDC, never with 24 VDC.

Startup and operation

  • Ensure that the power consumption of the device to be connected does not exceed the maximum continuous power rating of the power converter.
  • Ensure that the power converter is switched off.
  • Insert the cigarette lighter plug into the corresponding socket of your vehicle. Ensure that the plug is securely in place and that the cable is not pinched or stretched.
  • Switch on the power converter.
  • Connect your electrical device to the socket or the USB port.

Warning

  • Contact resistance may cause voltage loss. This can negatively affect your device and/or cause the contacts to spark or heat up. You must therefore always ensure that the plug and socket contacts are smooth and clean and that the plug is securely in place.

  • The power converter is not suitable for the powering of all electronic devices! These include, for example, fluorescent or energy-saving lamps.
    In case of doubt, please check with the manufacturer of the device whether an operation on modified sine wave voltage is possible.

  • If you connect a device with an electric motor, the startup power consumption may be higher than the rated consumption. This may result in the voltage transformer being overloaded.

  • Only one electrical device may be connected to the 230-V output of the power converter. The use of distributors or extension cables is not permitted.

  • Remove the cigarette lighter plug from the socket of your vehicle when you are not currently using the device or when you wish to start the vehicle.

Protective Features and Troubleshooting

Warning
Should any of the following happen, do not continue to use the power converter under any circumstances and contact your dealer or our service department immediately:

  • The device fuse (20 A) is triggered immediately after it is replaced.
  • The housing, socket, cable or cigarette lighter plug is damaged.
  • The power converter is defective.
  • If smoke, odours or unusual noises are coming from the power converter.
