FRONT MUD GUARDS INSTALL
Tips before the installation
-
Our mudguards should be installed with the logo facing the rear of the car.
-
The factory push-type fasteners can be difficult to remove without breaking them. Don’t worry too much as we provide replacements.
-
A. Turn your vehicle’s front wheels as much as possible to allow access to the factory fender liner screws and push clips shown on the image above.
-
B. Unscrew the 3 screws with a Phillips screwdriver.
-
C. Using a push type fastener removal tool or a flat head screwdriver, remove both plastic clips.
-
D. Grab one of the fender vent meshes. They are identified with a letter corresponding to the side they must be installed. “L” is for left(driver side) and “R” is for right(passenger side).
-
E. Gently pull on the fender liner to allow room to install the fender vent mesh.
-
A. Align both holes with the fender tab holes and squeeze the taller edge of the mesh into the fender inner lip.
The mesh has a taller curved edge on one side. This edge must be facing the rear of the car and oriented towards the fender side. See image for orientation. -
C. Install the 2 provided 8mm push-type plastic fasteners(D).
-
D. Fully tighten the upper screw that was removed earlier (shown on the image above).
-
-
A. Grab the front mud flap (the FX3D logo should be facing the rear of the car).
-
B. Place one of the provided washers(E) through both factory screws and insert the screws through the mudguard slotted holes. The head of the screws should be resting on the opposite side of the FX3D logo.
-
C. Screw both screws into the fender liner to secure the mudguard in place. Don’t fully tighten to allow for later adjustment.
-
D. Move the mudguard from side to side to the desired position.
-
E. Once you’re satisfied, tighten the 2 screws to secure the mudguard in place. Don’t over-tighten.
IMPORTANT
-
A. Clean the fender inner lip AND the mudguard with a degreaser agent (ex: rubbing alcohol) using a clean microfiber.
-
B. Using a heat gun or air-dryer, warm the fender up to ensure proper adhesion of the tape.
-
C. Place one of the provided strips of 3M VHB double-sided tape on the fender inner lip; vertically aligned to the upper section of the mud guard.
-
D. Remove the tape’s backing. Heat up both surfaces.
-
E. Apply a good amount of pressure on the mud flap..
3M VHB DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE
needs to sit at least 24h to achieve perfect adhesion. -
F. Repeat steps 1 to 4 on the other side of the vehicle.
-
A. Jack your car up so you can remove the rear wheel and gain access to the bumper’s inner lip. If you have a small enough screwdriver, this step is not required.

-
C. Using a heat gun or air-dryer, warm the bumper up to ensure proper adhesion of the tape.
-
D. Place one of the provided strips of 3M VHB double-sided tape at the lower extremity of the bumper’s inner lip. Apply a good amount of pressure on the tape.
Don’t remove the backing yet. -
