Product Usage Instructions

Front Rock Guards Installation:
Tips before the installation:

  • Ensure the logo on the mudguards faces the rear of the car.
  • Turn the front wheels for better access to the fender liner.

Steps:

  1. Using a fastener removal tool, remove 3 factory fender liner clips.
  2. Insert rubber screw grommets into the 3 holes.
  3. Insert screws through slotted holes on the guard and secure with spacers.
  4. Adjust the position and tighten the screws securely.

Rear Rock Guards Installation:
Tips before the installation:

  • Use the same mounting points as OEM equipment for rear guards.
  • Jack up the car to access the bumper inner lip for installation.

Steps:

  1. Mark drilling spots on the bumper’s inner lip as instructed.
  2. Pry open u-nuts for installation, align correctly, and drill bumper lip.
  3. Screw the rock guard into U-nut but do not tighten fully for adjustment.
  4. Install all provided nuts and screws for a sturdier setup.

PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION

What’s in the package?

  3. C. #8 x 3/4” (19mm) Phillips flat head screw (x12)
  4. D. U-nut #8 (x6)
  5. E. Rubber screw grommet (x6)
  6. F. 3/16” (4.5mm) thick plastic spacer (x2)
  7. G. Strip of 3M VHB double sided tape (x2)

Required tools

  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Push type fasteners removal tool or flat head screwdriver
  • Electric drill and 1/16” (1.6mm) drill bit (or smaller equivalent)
  • Car Jack
  • Wheel nuts removing socket and wrench

FRONT ROCK GUARDS INSTALL – 1/2

Tips before the installation

Our mudguards should be installed with the logo facing the rear of the car.

  1. Turn your vehicle’s front wheels as much as possible to allow access to the fender liner.
  2. Using a push-type fasteners removal tool or a flat head screwdriver, remove the 3 factory fender liner clips shown on the image above.
  • Grab 3 of the provided rubber screw grommets(E) that came in the front rock guards’ package.
  • Using a Phillips screwdriver, insert a grommet in the 3 holes.

Push firmly while screwing to ensure a secure install.

FRONT ROCK GUARDS INSTALL – 2/2

  1. Grab the front rock guard (FX3 D logo should be facing the rear of the car).
  2. One at a time, Insert the provided screws(C) through the 3 slotted holes. The head of the screws should be resting on the opposite side of the FX3D logo.
  3. Place one of the provided spacer(F) through the middle screw; between the guard and the fender liner. The larger face of the spacer should be resting against the guard.
  4. Align and screw the 3 screws into the previously installed rubber grommets(E).

Don’t tighten all the way to allow positioning of the rock guards.

  1. Adjust the position of the guard to your liking. When satisfied, you can tighten all screws completely.
  2. Repeat steps 1 to 4 on the other side of the vehicule.

REAR ROCK GUARDS INSTALLED – 1/2

Tips before the installation

  • FX3D rear rock guards are designed to use the same mounting points as the OEM equipment.
  • We supply #8 screws in order to provide a secure installation while not leaving a noticeable hole on the bumper inner lip if you ever decide to remove our rock guards.C
  1. Jack you car up so you can remove the rear wheel and gain access to the bumper inner lip.
  2. Measuring from the lower edge of the bumper, mark the first spot to be drilled at 1.25” or 32mm and at 0.25” or 8mm from the inside edge. Do not measure from the bottom of the diffuser.

TIP: Double-check if the hole of the u-nut is properly aligned with your mark before drilling into the bumper.

  1. Grab one of the provided u-nuts(D) and pry it open to facilitate the installation and avoid scratching the paint.
  2. Slide the u-nut carefully on the bumper making sure that the flat face is facing towards the front and that the hole is correctly aligned with the mark.
  3. Drill the bumper lip using a 1/16” (1.6mm) or smaller drill bit.
  4. Grab the rear mud flap (FX3D logo should be facing the rear of the car).
  5. Place one of the supplied #8 screws(C) through the lower hole of the rock guard and screw it into the U-nut. Don’t tighten all the way to allow for later adjustment.

REAR ROCK GUARDS INSTALL – 2/2

ATTENTION
We recommend installing the rear mudguards using all the provided nuts and screws for a sturdier installation. Nevertheless, you can use the provided 3M VHB double-sided tape if you prefer not to drill the 3rd and upper hole. In that case, apply the tape on the bumper’s inner lip in between the middle and top hole.

  1. Rotate and align the rock guard so that the middle and top slotted holes are aligned with the bumper lip.
  2. Mark the 2 spots to be drilled at 0.25” or 8mm from the inside edge.
    Repeat step 2 by installing a u-nut(D), drilling the bumper and screwing another #8 screw(C) into both remaining holes of the rock guard. Don’t tighten all the way to allow for adjustment.

IMPORTANT: Clean the bumper lip AND the mudguard with a degreaser agent (ex: rubbing alcohol) using a clean microfiber before applying the tape 3M VHB DOUBLE SIDED TAPE needs to sit at least 24h in order to acheive perfect adhesion.

  1. Adjust the position of the guard to your liking.
  2. Once you are satisfied with the positioning, you can fully tighten the 3 screws. Don’t over-tighten.
  3. Repeat steps 1 to 4 on the other side of the vehicle.

FAQ

Q: Can I remove the rock guards without leaving noticeable holes?
A: Yes, using the provided #8 screws allows for a secure installation without visible holes on the bumper’s inner lip.

Q: What should I do if I need to adjust the position of the rock guards?
A: Loosen the screws slightly to adjust the position to your liking, then tighten them securely once satisfied.
