FRONT ROCK GUARDS INSTALL – 1/2
Tips before the installation
– Our rock guards should be installed with the logo facing the rear of the
car.
– Take your time while removing the oem plastic fasteners to avoid damaging
your fender liner.
A. Turn your vehicle’s front wheels as much as possible to allow access to the
2 factory fender liner fasteners and screw shown on the image above.
B. Using a fastener removal tool or flat head screwdriver, gently pull out the
2 upper clips and unscrew the lower Phillips screw.
C. Replace the 2 factory plastic fasteners with the provided 8mm grommet
fasteners(E).
If you prefer avoiding the removal of the oem plastic fasteners, which can be difficult without the proper tool, you can skip this step and screw directly into them. Poke a small hole prior to doing so.
A. Grab the front rock guard. FX3D logo should be facing the rear of the car.
B. Place the provided washers(C) through 2 of the provided screws(D) and
through the oem Phillips screw you removed previously.
C. Insert the provided screws(D) through the 2 upper rock guard’s slotted
holes and the factory Phillips screw into the bottom hole. The head of the
screws should be resting on the opposite side of the FX3D logo.
D. Place one of the washers(C) on the upper screw so it rests in between the
guard and the fender liner.
A. Align the rock guard and screw the 3 screws into the fender liner.
Don’t tighten completely so you can adjust the position of the rock guard to
your liking.
A. Move the rock guard from side to side until you are satisfied with its
position.
B. Once you’re done, you can fully tighten the 3 screws.
Don’t over tighten.
C. Repeat steps 1 to 4 on the other side of the vehicule.
REAR ROCK GUARDS INSTALL – 1/3
A. Using a car jack, raise the rear of your car to gain more room to access
the rear wheel arch liner screws.
B. Remove the 2 screws shown on the image above. This is where the supplied
FX3D stubby screwdriver(I) comes in handy.
C. Grab the rear rock guard. FX3D logo should be facing the rear of the car.
D. Insert the provided washers(C) through the 2 factory screws you have just
removed.
A. Grab the provided “L” shaped rear bracket(H). From the back side of the
guard (side without the FX3D logo), gently slide the bracket through the
bottom slotted hole as shown on the picture above.
B. Insert the 2 factory screws through the upper slotted holes of the guard.
Leave the top square hole empty for now.
The head of the screws should be resting on the opposite side of the FX3D
logo. Make sure you followed step 1-D before doing this.
C. Insert the provided beveled spacers(G) on the 2 OEM screws to serve as a
spacer between the guard and the wheel arch liner. The larger diameter of the
spacer should be resting against the guard.
REAR ROCK GUARDS INSTALL
A. Align the rock guard and screw the 2 factory screws into their respective
positions. Don’t fully tighten to allow for adjustment.
B. Move the rock guard from side to side until you are satisfied with its
position.
C. Once you are done, you can fully tighten the 2 screws.
Don’t over tighten.
A. Remove the Phillips screw located under the bumper. The “L” shaped bracket
should roughly align with the screw.
B. Insert the screw into the slotted hole of the bracket and screw it back
into the bumper. Don’t tighten completely.
A. Apply some pressure on the bracket so that the guard sits flush with the
bumper.
B. While keeping pressure on the bracket with one hand, screw the bumper screw
completely.
Don’t over tighten.
OPTIONAL STEP
If you have adjusted the guards to be near their maximum outter position, you
might want to add an extra attachement point. Follow these steps to do so.
A. Grab 1 of the provided #8 3/4” Phillips screws (F) and place it through the
top square hole of the guard.
B. Insert one of the provided beveled spacers(G) on the screw to serve as a
spacer between the guard and the wheel arch liner. The larger diameter of the
spacer should be resting against the guard.
C. Screw it directly in the wheel arch liner. Don’t over tighten.
D. Repeat steps 1 to 6 on the other side of the vehicule.
