FRONT MUD GUARDS INSTALL

Tips before the installation

Our mud guards should be installed with the logo facing the rear of the car.

  • A. Turn your vehicle’s front wheels as much as possible to allow access to the fender liner.

  • B. Using a push type fasteners removal tool or a flat head screwdriver, remove the 3 factory fender liner clips shown on the image above.

  • A. Grab 2 of the provided rubber screw grommets(F) that came in the front mud guards’ package.

  • C. Using a Phillips screw driver, insert a grommet in the 2 upper holes. Push firmly while screwing to ensure a secure install.

  • A. Grab the front mud flap (FX3D logo should be facing the rear of the car).

  • B. Insert the provided screws(C) through the 2 upper mud guard slotted holes. The head of the screws should be resting on the opposite side of the FX3D logo.

  • C. Align and screw the 2 screws into the previously installed rubber grommets. Don’t tighten all the way to allow positionning of the mud flaps.

  • D. Insert one of the push type fasteners(G) into the lower slotted hole and through the fender liner. Don’t press on it yet.

  • E. Adjust the position of the mud flaps to your liking. When satisfied, you can tighten both screws completely and press on the plastic fastener to lock it in place.

  • F. Repeat steps 1 to 3 on the other side of the vehicle.

REAR MUD GUARDS INSTALL

Tips before the installation

  • FX3D rear mud guards are designed to use the same mounting points as the OEM equipment.

  • We supply #10 screws in order to provide a secure installation while not leaving a noticeable hole on the bumper inner lip if you ever decide to remove our mud guards.

  • A. Jack you car up so you can remove the rear wheel and gain access to the bumper inner lip.

  • B. Measuring from the lower edge of the bumper, mark the first spot to be drilled at 1.25” or 32mm and at 0.25” or 8mm from the inside edge. Do not measure from the bottom of the diffuser.

TIP

  • Double check if the hole of the u-nut is properly aligned with your mark before drilling into the bumper.

  • A. Grab one of the provided u-nuts(E) and slightly pry it open to facilitate the installation and avoid scratching the paint.

  • B. slide the u-nut on the bumper making sure that the flat face is facing towards the front and that the hole is correctly aligned with the mark.

  • C. Carefully drill the bumper lip using a 1/16” (1.6mm) or equivalent drill bit.

  • D. Grab the rear mud flap (FX3D logo should be facing the rear of the car).

  • E. Place one of the supplied #10 screws(D) through the lower hole of the mud guard and screw it into the u-nut. Don’t tighten all the way to allow for later adjustment.

ATTENTION

  • We recommend installing the rear mud guards using all the provided u-nuts and screws for a sturdier installation.
  • Nevertheless, you can use the provided 3M VHB double sided tape if you prefer not to drill the 3rd and upper hole.
  • In that case, apply the tape on the bumper inner lip in between the middle and top mud guard hole.

IMPORTANT

  • Clean the bumper lip AND the mud guard with a degreaser agent (ex: rubbing alchol) using a clean microfiber before applying the tape

  • 3M VHB DOUBLE SIDED TAPE needs to sit at least 24h in order to acheive perfect adhesion.

  • A. Rotate and align the mud guard so that the middle and top slotted holes are centered with the bumper lip.

  • B. Mark the 2 spots to be drilled at 0.25” or 8mm from the inside edge.

  • B. Repeat step 2 by installing a u-nut(E), drilling the bumper and screwing another #10 screw(D) into both remaining holes of the mud guard.

  • Don’t tighten all the way to allow for adjustment.

  • A. Move the mud guard from side to side to the desired position.

  • B. Once you are satisfied with the positionning, you can fully tighten the 3 screws. Don’t over tighten.

  • C. Repeat steps 1 to 4 on the other side of the vehicle.
