PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION
What’s in the package?
A. Front rock guard (x2)
B. Rear rock guard (x2)
C. #8 x 3/4” (19mm) Phillips flat head screw (x4)
D. 1/32” (1.5mm) thick plastic spacer (x2)
E. 3/32” (3mm) thick plastic spacer (x4)
F. U-nut #8 (x4)
G. Plastic grommet fastener (x4)
H. #12 x 13/16” (20mm) truss head screw (x4)
I. 3/16” (5mm) thick plastic spacer (x4)
J. 8mm plastic push type fastener (x2)
Required tools
- Phillips screwdriver or Electric drill
- Utility knife
- Car Jack
- Wheel nuts removing socket and wrench
FRONT ROCK GUARDS INSTALL – 1/2
Tips before the installation
– Our rock guards should be installed with the logo facing the rear of the
car.
– Before installing the provided u-nuts, slightly pry them open with a flat
head screwdriver. Doing so will help to prevent scratching the paint when
sliding them on.
A. Turn your vehicle’s front wheels as much as possible to allow access to the
fender liner.
B. Remove the 2 factory fender liner clips and the 10mm hex screw shown on the
image above. Gently pull on the fender liner to gain access to the fender
tabs.
A. Grab 2 of the provided u-nuts(F) that came in the front rock guards
package.
C. Slightly pry open each u-nut to facilitate the installation and avoid
scratching the paint.
D. Slide the u-nuts on the two fender tabs making sure that the flat face is
facing towards the front of the vehicule and that the hole is correctly
aligned.
A. Grab the front mud flap (FX3D logo should be facing the rear of the car).
B. Insert the provided screws(C) through the 2 upper mud guard slotted holes.
The head of the screws should be resting on the opposite side of the FX3D
logo.
C. Insert the factory 10mm hex screw into the bottom slotted hole.
D. Place one of the thinner 1.5mm spacers(D) on the upper screw so it rests
between the guard and the fender liner.
E. Place one of the thicker 3mm spacers(E) on the 2 other screws like the
previous step. Make sure that the face of the washer that has the larger
diameter is in contact with the guard.
A. Align and screw the 3 screws into the fender liner. Don’t tighten all the
way to allow positionning of the rock guard to your liking.
B. When satisfied with the position, you can tighten all screws completely.
Don’t over tighten.
C. Repeat steps 1 to 4 on the other side of the vehicule.
REAR ROCK GUARDS INSTALL – 1/3
A. Jack you car up so you can remove the rear wheel and gain access to the
bumper inner lip and wheel well lining.
B. Remove the plastic clip shown on the image above.
B. Using a utility knife, cut a hole through the liner making sure it’s
aligned with the square hole.
TIP
You can poke a hole from behind to ensure a perfectly aligned cut.
A. Insert a plastic grommet(G) in both holes.
Our mud guards are designed to fit with or without the TRD rear bumper
diffuser. Use the corresponding holes to match your car’s trim for a better
fitment
A. Grab the rear mud flap (FX3D logo should be facing the rear of the car).
B. Insert the #12 screws(H) through the rock guards slotted holes. Refer to
the diagram shown below step 3.
The head of the screws should be resting on the opposite side of the FX3D
logo.
C. lnsert a plastic spacers(I) into both screws as shown on the image above.
D. Align and screw in the rock guards into the plastic grommets. Don’t tighten
all the way to allow you to position the guards to your liking.
A. When satisfied with the position of the flap, tighten all screws completely.
Don’t over tighten.
B. Using a utility knife, cut a hole in the rear wheel well lining through the
3rd attachement point of the rear mud guard.
C. Insert one of the plastic push type fastener through the mud guard and the
lining. Push on the fastener to secure it in place.
D. Repeat steps 1 to 5 on the other side of the vehicule.
