HORMANN Photocell LM-LB
Description
The photocell detects objects that are located on the visual axis between the transmitter (TX) and the receiver (RX) of the photocell.

Fitting, connection and operation
WARNING: Danger of injury due to improper fitting
Fitting and connection of the product must be carried out by qualified
specialised personnel in accordance with the workplace safety regulations and
safety regulations for electrical systems.
- Switch off the all-pole mains isolator switch of the end device to which the photocell is connected.
- Secure the all-pole mains isolator switch against being switched on again without authorisation.
Fitting and connection
- Fitting height at least 20 cm.
- The fitting locations must be robust, impact-protected and jolt-free.
- The transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) must be on a straight line opposite each other.
- There must be a distance of at least 50 cm between the transmitter (TX) and the receiver (RX).
- Lay the cable to the fitting location of the receiver (RX) in advance.
- Attach the receiver (RX) and connect it electrically.
- Attach the transmitter (TX).
- Align the receiver (RX) in the direction of the transmitter (TX).
Operation

To test the photocell, repeatedly interrupt the sensor beam between the transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX). For this purpose, use a test body according to EN 12453. When the light beam is interrupted or no longer interrupted, the switching sound of the relay installed in the receiver must be heard.
Transmitter (TX)

The battery-operated transmitter (TX) can be swit-ched on and off.

Actuate the POWER ON switch for this purpose.

The battery charge of the transmitter (TX) is monitored via an alarm function. When the operating voltage of the battery of the transmitter (TX) drops below 2.3 V ± 0.1 V, the receiver (RX) generates an alarm sound. The alarm function can be switched on and off on the receiver (RX).

Actuate the BEEP OFF switch for this purpose.

The transmitter (TX) is equipped with a connection option for additional safety equipment. The connection is called EDGE. If no additional safety equipment is connected, the EDGE connection must be bridged with a 8.2 kiloohm resistance (see Fig. 1).
ATTENTION Danger of functional defects due to faulty fitting!
Infrared beams of the transmitter (TX) can be reflected from the floors, the walls and objects, leading to malfunction.- Use the transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) only if the cover is fitted.
- Protect the photocell receiver from direct sun-light.
- If 2 photocells are installed in a row, they must be positioned as shown.
Storage and disposal
- Store the packaged product in a dry place, tempe-rature range 0…+25°С and a relative humidity of max. 80%.
- Do not expose the product to precipitation and direct sunlight.
- The storage period is two years from the date of manufacturing.
- Dismantling work and professional disposal must only be performed by qualified specialised personnel.
