PRODUCT INFORMATION

Thank you for making the investment in the only solution for adding an OEM+ lighting solution to your grill inserts. This product not only creates a stylish factory look, but also adds an incredible amount of light for safely driving down the road.

Tools required for installation

  • 10mm socket
  • Socket ratchet
  • Snips/dykes
  • 5/16 Drill bit
  • Dremel for precision trimming

INSTALLATION

  • Step 1:
If you optioned to buy the MFC OEM+ Grill Lights with the secondary set of grill inserts, you will be trimming those, instead of the one currently installed on your Cherokee. Consider them the sacrificial ones, in case you decide to sell your vehicle down the road, you can reinstall the untouched ones that are currently on your vehicle. See pie for the outline of where you will trim with the snips/dykes. We recommend using a large pair of dykes first for roughing the opening, then going back with presision snips to ensure a clean edge for proper fitment of the LED light for proper fitment. If using your factory grill inserts, locate the outer grill pieces, and remove them from the hood with a 10mm socket.

  • Step 2:
You will now place the cover over the grill to mark the four holes that need to be drilled. This will allow you to affix the cover to the grill with the included black oxide coated stainless hardware. Use the 5/16″ drill bit on the marked locations. See the round markers in the pie to the right for location where the holes get drilled. The lower holes will fit right through the openings already in the grill.

  • Step 3:
Now that your holes are drilled, affix the cover with the included hardware, and also include the angled brackets on the backside to ensure the brackets are mounted along with the two bottom bolts. The brackets have some slop in them for fine tuning the placement of the light perfectly in the center of the hole.

  • Step 4:
Place your newly assembled grill inserts into the outer location for reinstallation. Before closing the hood, some slight trimming is needed to assist with any clearance issues. Take note of the trim piece and the outlined portion that will be trimmed with the Dremel. Only a tiny bit needs to be removed. If you accounter any additional clearance issues, just address with trimming. The shroud can be removed by prying up the plastic tab rivets. This allows easy modifying and reinstallation for a perfectly clean look.
When trimming in the outlined area, the trimming will be cosmetic and look as OEM as it did before if you take your time. If there are other plastic pieces behind this area, those will have to be trimmed as well. Not all Jeeps will have the plastic pieces behind the shroud piece that gets trimmed.

  • Step 5:
When running the wires, we recommend watching our videos regarding either our PDC installation or Hybrid Light Bar wiring. Both of these videos will give insight into wiring these lights up to our PDC or how the harness would be used with a switch and relay, which is included in your package.
To run the wires nice and clean, see the outline to the right as to how we recommend placement of the wire. Please note, there is enough slack included to accomplish this install very easily. Solid lines represent viewable wire, and dotted lines represent hidden out-of-view wire.

  • Step 6:
To wire your lights to the battery terminals, please make sure you first disconnect the negative battery connection. Wrap the terminal with a cloth and move to the side. Now mount the positive circular terminal ring to the positive battery terminal. Reinstall the negative terminal ring to the battery, followed by the negative circular terminal ring on the harness. Once tightly affixed to the battery terminals, test your lights to ensure everything is wired up properly.
To run the switch to the interior of the cabin, you will run the wiring through the factory grommet that is behind the brake pedal, which is covered in our 42″ Hybrid Light Bar video, along with the perfect placement options for the switch.
