Switch functions of the receiver

1 = relay output 1,
2 = relay output 2,
3 = relay output 3,
4 = relay output 4
The HER 4 BiSecur receiver features four relay outputs, which can be activated independently of each other. he following functions can be set via the 8 × DIL switch for each relay output.
7 .1 DIL Switch Functions
0 .5 second impulse When a transmission impulse is received, the relay is activated for 0.5 seconds and then deactivated.
On / Off switch
The relay is activated with the first transmission impulse and deactivated with the next.
3-minute light
The relay is activated for a period of 3 minutes after the first transmission impulse. The 3 minutes start again if another impulse is transmitted during this time. The relay is only deactivated if no further impulse is sent within the 3 minutes.
The reaction to a further radio signal can be changed via the PRG button. Upon delivery, the 3-minute light is set to extendable, this setting can be changed to reducible (see chapter 8). This means that if a further impulse is sent within those 3 minutes, the phase is ended prematurely and the relay is deactivated. The set function only refers to relay output 1 . Relay outputs 2 – 4 are always set to extendable.
3-second impulse This function is intended for the use of the relay receivers in conjunction with electric openers.
When a transmission impulse is received, the relay is activated for 3 seconds and then deactivated.
The impulse time can be changed via the PRG button (see chapter 8). Upon delivery the time is set to 3 seconds.
The set time only refers to relay output 1 . The time for relay outputs 2 – 4 is always set to 3 seconds .
Resetting settings
▶ Set the DIL switches (A/B) to OFF .
The functions are reset to their status upon delivery.
7 .2 Function of the P button .
The P button is used to select the radio channel/relay on which a radio code is to be taught in.
7 .3 Function of the PRG button .
The PRG button is used to change the duration of the impulse and the reaction of the 3-minute light function to a further radio signal.

Changing the impulse duration / 3-minute light

  1. Set the DIL switches according to the function.

  2. Press and hold the PRG button.
The red LED flashes slowly, indicating the impulse time of 5 seconds.

  3. Release the PRG button.

  4. Briefly press the PRG button once.
The red LED flashes slowly twice, indicating the impulse time of 10 seconds.

  5. Briefly press the PRG button once.
The red LED flashes slowly 3 times, indicating the impulse time of 15 seconds.

  6. Briefly press the PRG button once.
The red LED flashes slowly 4 times, indicating the impulse time of 30 seconds.

  7. Briefly press the PRG button once.
The red LED is illuminated continuously indicating the set function of reducible 3-minute light.
    To save the change:
▶ Press and hold the PRG button until the red LED flashes quickly
The receiver automatically returns to the operation mode.
To abort the change without saving it:
▶ Press the PRG button frequently until the red LED goes out.
The receiver automatically returns to the operation mode.

Timeout
If no button is pressed within 10 seconds, the receiver automatically returns to the operation mode.

Teaching in a radio code

**CAUTION
Danger of injuries due to unintended door travel Unintended door travel may occur while teaching in the radio system.
▶ Make sure no persons or objects are in the door’s area of travel when teaching in the radio code.
A maximum of 400 radio codes can be taught in the receiver. They can be distributed over the existing channels.
If the same radio code is taught in on two different channels, it will be stored in both channels. In learn mode, the channels of the HER 4 BiSecur receiver can be switched by pushing the P button, as long as no radio code has been detected. To activate / switch a channel:
▶ Press the P button once to activate channel 1.
▶ Press the P button twice to activate channel 2.
▶ Press the P button 3 times to activate channel 3.
▶ Press the P button 4 times to activate channel 4.
To abort the learn mode:
▶ Press the P button 5 times or wait for the timeout.
Timeout
If no valid radio code is detected within 25 seconds, the receiver automatically returns to the operation mode.
9 .1 Teaching in a radio code**HORMANN HER 4 BiSecur Receiver - Teaching
in a radio cod

  1. Press the P button to activate the desired channel.
    – The blue LED will flash slowly for channel 1.
    – The blue LED will flash twice for channel 2.
    – The blue LED will flash three times for channel 3.
    – The blue LED will flash four times for channel 4.

  2. Put the hand transmitter whose radio code is to be inherited into the Inheriting / Transmitting mode. If a valid radio code is detected, the LED flashes quickly in blue and then goes out.
The receiver is in the operation mode .

Operation

In operation mode, the receiver signals the detection of a valid radio code by illuminating the blue LED. In addition, the green LED of the respective relay is illuminated.
NOTE:
If the radio code for the taught-in hand transmitter was copied from another hand transmitter, the hand transmitter button must be pressed a second time during initial start-up.

A valid radio code channel 1 is detected| The blue LED is illuminated briefly once
---|---
A valid radio code channel 2 is detected| The blue LED is illuminated briefly twice
A valid radio code channel 3 is detected| The blue LED is illuminated briefly three times
A valid radio code channel 4 is detected| The blue LED is illuminated briefly four times

Switch function feedback

If a command for automatic feedback  is triggered by an
HS 5 BiSecur hand transmitter or the BiSecur app, the receiver immediately reports the current status of the relay.

  • – See the operating instructions for the HS 5 Bicker hand transmitter, automatic feedback of the door position.
    HS 5 Bicker hand transmitter
If a radio code is taught in on two or more different channels, the status of the relay is primarily evaluated with the on / off switch function for the HS 5 BiSecur hand transmitter.
    Possible feedback:

    1. If the on / off switch function has not been set.
      – At least one relay is energized = LED: green
      – All relays are de-energized = LED: red

    2. If the on / off switch function has been set on one
      relay output.
      – The switching relay is energized. = LED: green
      – The switching relay is de-energized. = LED: red

    3. If the on / off switch function has been set on two or more relay outputs.
      – All of the switching relays are energized. = LED: green
      – At least one switching relay is deenergized. = LED: red

NOTE:
The non-switching relays are not evaluated for feedback purposes.
Bicker app
For feedback from the Bicker app, please see the operating instructions for Bicker Home (www.bisecur-home.com)).
11 .1 No feedback
There is a communication error if the HS 5 Bicker hand transmitter or Bicker app does not receive any feedback from the HER 4 Bicker receiver within a maximum of 5 seconds after the command.
– The LED on the hand transmitter quickly flashes 4 × in orange.
– The Bicker app displays an appropriate  message.
See the operating instructions for Bicker Home  (www.bisecur- home.com).
