Product Overview

Assembly

  1. Prepare tools from the accessory box including open-end wrench, 6mm Allen wrench, and 5mm Allen wrench.SEGWAY-18-Inch-Ninebot-Bike-fig-6

  2. Install front and rear wheels ensuring proper nut cover placement and kickstand installation.

  3. Assemble the handlebar by adjusting height and perpendicular alignment to the vehicle body.SEGWAY-18-Inch-Ninebot-Bike-fig-7

  4. Install pedals securely by tightening left pedal counterclockwise and right pedal clockwise.

  5. Adjust brake lever, bell, and saddle according to personal preference.

  6. a. Adjust brake lever (optional)Align with the indicator marking and tighten screw.
    Note: The brakes are properly adjusted at the factory. When needed, please refer to the appendix to adjust correctly. Adjustment by a professional bicycle mechanic is recommended.

  7. b. Adjust bell
    Tighten the screw with 5mm Allen wrench.

  8. c. Adjust saddle
    Adjust saddle to proper height and position, then tighten the screw with 5mm Allen wrench (Torque 15 N•m). Minimum insertion mark should not be visible.SEGWAY-18-Inch-Ninebot-Bike-fig-8

This product is designed for kids with height between 45.3–57.1 inch (115-145 cm) and inside leg length no shorter than 19.7 inch (50 cm). See the picture below to learn how to measure.

Riding Safety

Before First Ride:

  1. Please read this manual carefully and follow the instructions to properly assemble the bike. Improper assembly can lead to rider injury or vehicle damage. Ninebot Bike must be assembled and adjusted by adults only.
  2. This product contains small parts like nuts & bolts, as well as choking hazards like plastic bags. Please keep away from children!
  3. This product should only be used for recreational purposes. Riding on public roads, streets, sidewalks, and crowded places is prohibited.
  4. Off-road riding is prohibited because it’s dangerous and unpredictable.

Before Every Ride

  1. Tire pressure should be 240- 310 kPa, brake cable should have the right tension, screws, nuts, bolts and other fasteners must be checked by an adult. Make sure there’s no loose part.
  2. Do not hang decorations or heavy objects on handlebars.
  3. Only ride on a flat surface. Avoid bumpy roads, wet surfaces and puddles, potholes, sewers, stairs, snow, fire, flower beds, cracks, construction sites, debris and other obstacles. Watch out for passing vehicles.
  4. Ride at a low speed. Increased speed means higher risk.
  5. Wear shoes that will grip the pedals. Never ride barefoot or in sandals. Wear proper outfit. Loose clothing can get caught in wheels.

When Riding

  1. Always wear a helmet when riding. Use an approved bicycle helmet that meets the local safety standards. Protective gears like knee pads and elbow pads are highly recommended.
  2. To avoid accidents, children must ride under the supervision of an adult.
  3. Do not ride in bad weather. Children should not ride at dawn, at dusk or at night, when visibility is low.
  4. DO NOT brake abruptly when riding, otherwise there is a risk of rollover.
  5. DO NOT put hands or feet into spnining wheels. Keep away from the moving chain, sharp teeth of chainrings, turning pedals and cranks.

Maintenance

All components are adjusted for the best performance before shipping. Regular maintenance is recommended to minimize wear and tear:

  1. Frequently check vehicle parts for damage, fractures, rust, etc., and replace or repair immediately.
  2. Clean vehicle surface frequently with a wung-out towel.
  3. Before every ride, ensure that there are no loose parts, and that wheels and crankset are working properly.
  4. Check brake tension, tires, tire pressure and handlebars regularly. Lubricate the chains regularly to extend service life. Make sure saddle is facing forward and is at proper height.
  5. If the screws, nuts and bolts are loose, tighten with the tools provided in package.
  6. Check for defects or damage in: wheel hub, wheel tubes, wheel bearing, brakes, brake cable, tires, chains, pedals, handlebar grips and reflectors.
  7. When the wheel rim indicator is visible, the wheel hub needs to be replaced.
  8. Each frame has an ID number. If there’s quality issue, you can track vehicle information with this ID.
    Components must be replaced in bicycle repair shop and brake be adjusted by a professional mechanic.

Appendix 1: Brake Adjustment

  • a. Adjusting front brake
    Loosen bolt, nut and nut A. Tighten or loosen the brake cable to increase or decrease brake power respectively. Find the proper position and then tighten bolt, nut and nut A.

  • b. Adjusting the caliper
    If there’s no gap between caliper and brake disc, loosen the nuts on both sides to find proper brake tension. Hold the brake lever and tighten the nuts. Note: DO NOT unscrew the nuts.

  • c. Adjusting coaster brake
    Rotate the pedals backwards to brake. The more pressure you apply, the more braking force

Appendix 2: Recommended Tightening Torque

Always tighten fasteners to the correct torque. Bolts that are too loose can move and fatigue. Bolts that are too tight can stretch and deform.SEGWAY-18
