Product Usage Instructions
- Wiring Guide
- When wiring the Guardian/Guardian Wave, follow the instructions below:
- Ensure that the input voltage matches the requirements of your intersection.
- Use 120VAC for 120VAC intersections and 48VDC for 48VDC intersections.
- Connect the power supply to the pedestrian signal head SPI.
- Use the blue wire for the +12VDC terminal, the white wire for the Walk terminal, and the orange wire for the Don’t Walk terminal.
- Connect the blue wire to the Walk terminal and the white wire to the Neutral terminal.
- Connect the -GND terminal to Terminal 3.
- Connect Terminal 2 (S2 W) to the Walk terminal.
- Connect Terminal 1 (S1 DW) to the Don’t Walk terminal.
- Ensure that the SPI is not set on the bottom of the Pedestrian Signal Head.
- The terminals of the SPI must be connected to the same terminals on the Base Station.
- Field Wires
- The Guardian/Guardian Wave utilizes the existing field wires from the cabinet to pedestrian push buttons to place calls.
- The field wires are not polarity-dependent and are only required for intersections.
- Note: For new intersection installations, PedSafety recommends using IMSA 14-gauge loop detector wire in the absence of city or other local specifications.
- Warranty Note
- The warranty for the Guardian/Guardian Wave is void if the Guardian is installed upside down.
