FAQ
What should I do if I have a 48VDC intersection?
A different SPI is required for 48VDC intersections compared to 120VAC intersections.
How do I connect the SPI in the Pedestrian Signal Head?
Connect the blue wire to Walk, white wire to Neutral, and orange wire to Don't Walk. Ensure that the SPI is not set on the bottom and that its terminals are connected to the corresponding terminals on the Base Station.
What happens if the Guardian is installed upside down?
The warranty for the Guardian/Guardian Wave is void if the unit is installed upside down.
What type of wire is recommended for new intersection installations?
PedSafety recommends IMSA 14-gauge wire (loop detector wire) for new intersection installations, in the absence of city or other local specifications.
Where can I find complete documentation for installation?
Complete documentation can be found at the PedSafety Product Installation Guides website, specifically in the PedConnex Utility Manual on pages 10-11.
