Pedsafety 83705 nxtCycle Wave Wiring Configuration
Product Information
The nxtCycle Wave is a traffic controller pushbutton designed for easy installation and operation. It features a latching configuration that allows users to control the LED indicator based on the walk indication. The push button produces a Dee-Dah tone and a contact closure when pressed.

Product Usage Instructions
Latching Configuration
- Remove the button cup from the back of the bezel by removing the 2 ea. Pelco screws.
- Attach the chase nipple to the back of the button cup.
- Route the two field wires from the traffic controller through the chase nipple.
- Attach the field wires to the terminal strip. The common or – wire should be attached to the middle terminal, while the positive wire + should be attached to the L terminal on the right.
Note: The positive wire should be rated for 24 VAC.
LED Operation in Latching Mode
In latching mode, the LED on the pushbutton will stay illuminated until the WALK indication is given. This provides visual feedback to pedestrians that it is safe to cross.
LED Operation in Non-Latching Mode
In non-latching mode, the LED on the pushbutton will flash briefly to indicate that the button was pressed. However, it will not stay illuminated until the WALK indication is given.
Note: To use the latching mode, an interface card is required in the traffic cabinet. Please visit our website for more details on the latching interfaces.
nxtCycle Wave Wiring Configuration
Non-Latching Configuration:
- Remove the button cup from the back of the bezel by removing the 2 ea. Pelco screws
- Attach the chase nipple to the back of the button cup and route the two field wires from the traffic controller through the chase nipple and attach to the terminal strip.
- Common or – wire attaches to the middle terminal.
- Positive wire + attaches to the NL terminal on the right: rated for 12-36 VDC or 12-24 VAC
- Attach the button cup to the Bezel secure the button to the pole using the 2 ea. ¼” – 20 x 1” FHP
Latching Configuration
- Remove the button cup from the back of the bezel by removing the 2 ea. Pelco screws.
- Attach the chase nipple to the back of the button cup and route the two field wires from the traffic controller through the chase nipple and attach to the terminal strip.
- Common or – wire attaches to the middle terminal.
- Positive wire + attaches to the L terminal on the right: rated for 24 VAC.

The nxtCyle Wave has two modes affecting the operation of the LED on the pushbutton, latching and non-latching. In both modes, the pushbutton will produce a Dee-Dah tone and a contact closure. When in a non-latching mode, the LED will flash briefly to indicate the button was pressed. In latching mode, the LED will stay illuminated until the WALK indication is given.
