TPP 86050 TubeSpin Bioreactor with Septum
The TubeSpin® bioreactor with septum combines the properties of the standard
TubeSpin® bioreactor #87050 with the requirements for laboratory automation.
It enables the multiple access of needles and liquid handling disposable tips
in the field of laboratory automation for the exchange of sterile medium,
solutions or withdrawal of cell-based products as well as high-throughput
screening, cultivation, and optimization processes of prokaryotic (aerobic
bacteria) and eukaryotic (yeasts, algae, HEK, CHO, Sf-9) suspension cells.
The TubeSpin® bioreactor with silicone septum is available with a filter screw
cap with openings (picture 1, #1) above a PTFE filter membrane, and Barcode
128.
The TubeSpin® Bioreactor with Septum is intended for single use only.
Note:
Follow the national regulations for handling biological material and chemical
substances, and use the appropriate protective clothing.
Take note of the regulations of aseptic working during the work process.
Instructions
- Check the packaging material and the product for intactness. Use only faultless material.
- Check the expiry date (EXP) on the label and packaging. Only use products with valid EXP.
- Open the package in a sterile environment and remove a complete system for use.
- The silicone septum with a cross slit is accessible for needles and tips with a diameter of <2.1 mm, fill according to normal laboratory routine.
- Multiple access through the septum with needles and tips is possible keeping the compliance of the aseptic work. No maximum values or numbers were determined for multiple access.
- Close the filter screw cap with ventilation holes. Continuous gas exchange takes place through the integrated hydrophobic membrane of 0.22 µm. If the PTFE filter membrane gets wet, the gas exchange is reduced for a short time.
- Laboratory automation: Refer to the operating instructions of the manufacturer. Observe the optimum filling quantity (see technical data).
- Barcode 128 on each tube for efficient automated tracking
- Cultivate: Shake cells in appropriate incubation shakers. Refer to the cultivation conditions of the cells (temperature, CO2 and humidity control, shaking frequency)
- Shakers: Follow the safety instructions and operating instructions of the shaker manufacturer.
- Centrifuging: The use of appropriate rotors and/or centrifuge adapters is recommended. Please follow the safety instructions of the centrifuge manufacturer.
- The mechanical load capacity of the centrifuge tubes is influenced by
- Shape and material
- Accuracy of fit in the centrifuge adapter
- Temperature, centrifugation time, g- number
- Chemical and physical properties of the centrifuged material
- Rotor type: fixed-angle or swing-out rotor
- Test the multitude of influencing factors under routine conditions beforehand.
- Storage before use at room temperature, protected from UV light
Remarks and Recommendations
- The graduation serves as a guide for filling quantity and is no absolute value.
- Alcohol 90 % with mechanical stress (rubbing) might dissolve or blur the white color of the print.
- For freezing, TPP recommends transferring samples to the TPP cryo tubes. If TubeSpin® bioreactor storage in the minus temperature range is desired, TPP recommends testing the product beforehand according to your conditions.
