TPP 91015 Centrifuge Tube

Instruction for Use

The TPP centrifuge tubes are suitable for preparing, mixing, centrifuging and storing suspensions (cells, bacteria, precipitates, etc.) as well as solid and liquid reagents and samples. The centrifuge tube is intended for single use only.

Note: Follow national regulations when handling biological material and chemical substances, use appropriate protective clothing Take note of the regulations of aseptic working during the work process.

Instructions:

  • Check the packaging material and the product for intactness. Use only faultless material.
  • Check the expiry date (EXP) on label and packaging. Only use products with valid EXP.
  • Open the package in a sterile environment and remove a complete system for use
  • Remove the cap and fill according to your laboratory routine. Please refer to the maximal filling quantity (see technical data).
  • Close the screw cap firm close for gas and liquid tight seal without damaging the sealing lip in the cap. Make sure that the contents cannot escape.
  • Centrifuging: The use of appropriate rotors and/or centrifuge adapters is recommended. Please follow the safety instructions of the centrifuge manufacturer.
  • The mechanical load capacity of the centrifuge tubes is influenced by
    • Shape and material
    • Accuracy of fit in the centrifuge adapter
    • Temperature, centrifugation time, g-number
    • Chemical and physical properties of the centrifuged material
    • Rotor type: fixed-angle or swing-out roto
  • Test the multitude of influencing factors under routine conditions beforehand.
  • Before use, store at room temperature and protect from UV light.

Advice and Recommendations:

  • entrifuging at (too) high speed can deform the tube.
  • The graduation serves as a reference for filling quantity and is not an absolute value.
  • Alcohol 90 % with mechanical stress (rubbing) might dissolve or blur the white color of the print.

Storage in Minus Temperatures:

  • The product should only be used for its intended use. TPP does not assume any product warranty in case of damage when used otherwise.
  • For storage in temperatures below °C transfer the samples into TPP cryo tubes. When storing the polypropylene (PP) centrifuge tubes in the minus temperature range, TPP recommends that the product be tested beforehand.
  • Polystyrene (PS) tubes are not suitable for storage in minus temperatures.

Important:

  • The material of the tubes and caps is not intended for temperatures minus °C. For storage below °C transfer the samples into TPP cryotubes.
  • Temperatures below 0 °C result in reduced elasticity for polypropylene. Do not stress frozen tubes mechanically such as dropping or hitting.
  • During storage in minus temperatures, ensure that the contents freeze evenly and from bottom to top. -> If the contents in the tube freeze first at the top, expansion cracks may occur at the bottom. Styrofoam racks have a strong insulating effect, which makes it difficult for the content to freeze in the tubes evenly.
  • TPP assumes no liability for damage caused by, during or due to the use of centrifuge tubes in freezing processes.
