Product Usage Instructions

1. Raise the vehicle up on a hoist or rack to working height. If a hoist or rack is not available, support the vehicle with jack stands.
2. Allow the vehicle to cool completely before touching any factory engine components.
3. Remove the bolts (x2) and disconnect the driver side tailpipe from the exhaust at the flange connection.
4. Remove the bolt and mount securing the driver side tailpipe, then remove it from the vehicle. Retain the bolt and mount for later use.
5. Cut the tailpipes just behind the factory muffler.
6. Disassemble the passenger side tailpipe wire hangers (x2) from isolators. Remove the bolt and mount near the outlet, then remove the assembly from the vehicle. Retain the bolt and mount for later use.
7. Loosen the factory clamp from the catalytic converter connection to disconnect the inlet pipe. Disassemble the wire hanger from the isolator, then remove the muffler assembly completely from the vehicle.
8. Release the tab and remove the factory clamp from the pipe inlet. Retain the factory clamp for later use.
9. Remove the nuts from the stock and Flowmaster clamps, apply an anti-seize compound to the bolts, and re-install the nuts.
10. Place the clamp (removed in step 8) onto the inlet pipe (1) and connect it to the catalytic converter. Mount the wire hanger into the factory isolator and tighten the clamp just enough to allow for adjustment.
11. If your vehicle requires an extension pipe, follow the specifications below and complete this step. Otherwise, proceed to the next step.
    • Wheel Base: 148
    • Body Style: Crew Cab
    • Bed Length: 5.8′
    • Inlet Assembly: Inlet Pipe only
12. Place the clamp (8) onto the extension pipe (2) inlet, then connect the extension pipe to the inlet pipe.
13. Place the clamp (8) onto the muffler (3) inlet. Place (x2) clamps (9) onto muffler outlets. Connect the muffler to the inlet or extension pipe, then tighten the front clamp just enough to allow for adjustment.

DESCRIPTION

OVERVIEW

1. Take a moment to read and understand these instructions before installing your Flowmaster performance system.

NOTE: Please inventory all parts now before continuing and if necessary, report any missing items to our tech line. This will avoid potentially stranding your vehicle until any missing replacement parts arrive.

REMOVE FACTORY EXHAUST SYSTEM:

2. Raise the vehicle up on a hoist or rack to working height. If you don’t have access to a hoist or rack, support the vehicle with jack stands.

To ease the preparation and installation of your new kit:

• Apply penetrating lubricant to mounts, bolts and clamps before you remove them.
• Use stands as necessary to support parts as you detach them from your vehicle and again as you install new parts.

3. Remove bolts (x2) and disconnect the driver-side tailpipe from the exhaust at the flange connection.

4. Remove the bolt and mount securing driver side tailpipe then remove it from the Retain bolt and mount for later use.

5. Cut tailpipes just behind factory muffler.

6. Disassemble passenger side tailpipe wire hangers (x2) from the Removed bolt and mount them near the outlet then remove the assembly from the vehicle. Retain bolt and mount for later use.

7. Loosen factory clamp from catalytic converter connection to disconnect inlet pipe, disassemble wire hanger from isolator then remove muffler assembly completely from vehicle.

8. Release the tab and remove the factory clamp from the pipe Retain the factory clamp for later use.

INSTALL FLOWMASTER EXHAUST SYSTEM

9. Remove nuts from stock and Flowmaster clamps, apply anti-seize compound to bolts, and re-install nuts.

NOTE: The image in this step is intended for illustrative purposes only and may or may not accurately reflect the components included in your kit.

10. Place clamp (removed step 8) onto inlet pipe (1) then connect it to catalytic Mount wire hanger into factory isolator and tighten clamp just enough to allow for adjustment.

NOTE: Complete this step only if your vehicle requires an extension pipe. Reference the specifications below to verify.

11. Place clamp (8) onto extension pipe (2) inlet then connect extension pipe to inlet pipe.
12. Place clamp (8) onto muffler (3) Place (x2) clamps (9) onto muffler outlets. Connect muffler to the inlet or extension pipe then tighten the front clamp just enough to allow for adjustment.
13. Route the right front tailpipe (5) and left front tailpipe (4) over the axle and connect them to muffler Mount wire hangers into isolators then tighten clamps (x2) enough to allow for adjustment.
14. Place clamp (9) and mount (removed step 6) onto the right rear tailpipe (7) then connect it to the right front tailpipe. Bolt mount onto the frame then tighten the clamp enough to allow for adjustment.
15. Place clamp (9) and mount (removed step 4) onto the left rear tailpipe (6) then connect it to the left front tailpipe. Bolt mount onto the frame then tighten clamp enough to allow for adjustment.
16. Adjust exhaust components for fit; maintain 1⁄2″ clearance and compensate for suspension, travel and vibration then tighten all Finally, fit (x3) hanger keepers (10) onto each sideways hanger.

NOTE: If your exhaust system still needs alignment, adjust isolator mounts in steps 14 and 15.

17. Recommended: Secure slip-fit connections with a 1-inch tack weld then spray high-temp paint over each weld to prevent rust and premature corrosion.
