FLOWMASTER 26821M Performance Exhaust System

Product Information

The product is a Flowmaster performance exhaust system designed for the 2020-22 Jeep Gladiator JT with a 3.6L engine. It includes an inlet pipe (26821M), a muffler assembly (70006-562), and a hardware package (PK1052) that consists of a stainless band clamp (MC300BS).

Product Usage Instructions

1. Before installing the Flowmaster performance system, read and understand the instructions provided.
2. Check all the parts included in the package and report any missing items to the tech line.
3. To remove the stock exhaust system:
   • Raise the vehicle up on a hoist or rack to a working height.
   • Support the exhaust system with stands.
   • Cut the exhaust where indicated.
   • Remove the wire hangers from the isolators and remove the muffler section from the vehicle.
   • Loosen the ball clamp from the resonator inlet.
   • Remove the remaining hanger mount from the vehicle frame.
   • With help, remove the resonator section from the vehicle.
   • Retain the clamp and mount for later use.
4. To install the Flowmaster exhaust system:
   • Remove nuts from both the stock and Flowmaster clamps.
   • Apply anti-seize compound to bolts and re-install nuts.
   • Place the factory ball clamp onto the inlet pipe and connect it to the catalytic converter. Ensure proper orientation and tighten the clamp.
   • Place the hanger mount and clamp onto the muffler, then connect it to the inlet pipe. Insert wires into hangers.
   • Bolt the mount to the vehicle frame and tighten the clamp.
   • Adjust the exhaust components for fit, maintaining a 1/2-inch clearance and compensating for suspension travel and vibration.
   • Tighten all clamps.
   • Recommended: Secure slip-fit connections with a 1-inch tack weld and spray high-temp paint over each weld to prevent rust and premature corrosion.
5. Congratulations! The installation of your FLOWMASTER performance exhaust system is now complete.

OVERVIEW

1. Take a moment to read and understand these instructions before installing your Flowmaster performance system.

   • NOTE: Please inventory all parts now before continuing and if necessary, report any missing items to our tech line. This will avoid potentially stranding your vehicle until any missing replacement parts arrive. REMOVE STOCK EXHAUST SYSTEM:

2. Raise vehicle up on a hoist or rack to working height. If you don’t have access to a hoist or rack, support vehicle with jack stands.

   • WARNING: Avoid serious burns! Allow your vehicle time to cool completely before touching any factory engine components.
     To ease preparation and installation of your new kit:

   • Apply penetrating lubricant to mounts, bolts and clamps before you remove them.

   • Use stands as necessary to support parts as you detach them from your vehicle and again as you install new parts.

3. Support exhaust system with stands then cut exhaust where indicated. Then remove wire hangers from isolators and remove muffler section from vehicle.

4. Loosen ball clamp from resonator inlet. Remove remaining hanger mount from vehicle frame then with help, remove resonator section from vehicle. Retain clamp and mount for later use.
   INSTALL FLOWMASTER EXHAUST SYSTEM:

5. Remove nuts from stock and Flowmaster clamps, apply anti-seize compound to bolts and re-install nuts.
   NOTE: The image in this step is intended for illustrative purposes only and may or may not accurately reflect components included in your kit.

6. Place factory ball clamp (removed step 1) onto inlet pipe (1) then connect it to catalytic converter. Orient pipe exactly as shown and tighten clamp.

7. Place hanger mount (removed step 1) and clamp (3) onto muffler (2) then connect it to inlet pipe, inserting wires into hangers. Securing assembly by bolting mount to vehicle frame and tighten clamp.

8. Adjust exhaust components for fit; maintaining 1/2″ clearance and compensating for suspension, travel and vibration, then tighten all clamps.

9. Recommended: Secure slip-fit connections with a 1-inch tack weld then spray high-temp paint over each weld to prevent rust and premature corrosion. Congratulations, the installation of your FLOWMASTER performance exhaust system is now complete!
