DESCRIPTION:
A Retractor is a gingival retraction thread manufactured with cotton fibers
and is not permeated by chemical substances. It is knit, which increases its
flexibility and capacity to absorb hemostatic substances. Its packaging is
developed to facilitate the professional dentist’s performance during its
handling.
INDICATION:
The Retractor is recommended for gingival retraction in various procedures,
in which it is necessary to carry out dental impressions (molds). Its use
facilitates the access and visibility of the tissues which are being operated
in, apart from helping prevent damage to gingival tissue.
COMPOSITION:
Knitted cotton cord.
DIRECTIONS OF USE:
- Determine the desired thickness of Retractor thread in accordance with the width and depth of the gingival groove;
- Cut the Retractor thread to the desired length in order to go around equipment;
- Follow gums with a light air jet to increase efficiency and ease of insertion for the thread;
- Go around the tooth with the thread and with the help of an appropriate instrument;
- Insert into the gingival groove. Start with the interproximal space and always press the thread against the tooth during insertion;
- Leave the thread in the place where applied between 3 and 5 minutes, verifying the aspect of the gums’ retraction;
- In accordance with the technique used, do or do not remove the thread before the impression.
- It is not recommended to use a spatula with a sharp edge.
Hemostatic solutions, such as Hemopare, may be used in conjunction with the thread, depending on necessity.
WARNING AND PRECAUTIONS:
Restricted use, for professionals who specialize in dentistry, in accordance with local legislation. Do not use the product after it has passed its expiration date. Keep out of reach of children. Use the product in accordance with the instructions for use. Excessively long times of placement can cause permanent gingival recession. If hemostatic solution is used, follow the instructions for use from the solution’s manufacturer. After the procedure, verify if there was a lesion in the gingival groove and make sure there are no retractor thread fragments in the gingival cervix.
CONTRAINDICATIONS AND SIDE EFFECTS:
It is not recommended for people with known sensitivity to cotton.
STORAGE AND TRANSPORT:
Always store the product close in its original package, at room temperature.
Protect from direct sunlight. Temperature: below 30 °C. Humidity: below 75 UR.
DISPOSAL:
After use, discard the product in accordance with local legislation, assuring
its complete disfigure- ment in order to prevent its reuse and damage to the
environment.
