maquira BM4 Power Block Oxygen Blocker Gel
PRESENTATION
3 Syringes with 3 g each and 3 tips.
DESCRIPTION
- a) Prevention of inhibition by oxygen during the polymerization: The direct contact of oxygen with composite restoration surfaces produces a polymerization inhibition surface layer of approximately 50 um thick. When protecting the composite resin or resin cement surface with Power Block, the layer inhibited by the oxygen is prevented and the composite polymeri- zation is enhanced.
- b) Lubrication of gingival retraction cords: In the molding with gingival retraction cords, apply a small quantity of Power Block with the application tip and then insert the retraction cord with the proper instrumentation. This maneuver helps the retraction cord to slide inside the gingival sulcus and helps in the removal of the cord, mitigating the exfoliation of the sulcular epithelium.
INDICATION
Power Block is a flavored glycerin gel, lubricant, and impermeable to oxygen, that avoids the contact of composite resins and resin cements with the oxygen (to avoid the polymerization with the oxygen) and lubricates retraction cords.
COMPOSITION
Carbopol, methylparaben, ropylpara- ben, propylene glycol, açaí flavoring, neutralizers, and purified water.
MODE OF USE
Prevention of inhibition by oxygen in composite resins and resin cements:
- Indirect restoration cementation: after placing the restoration filled with resin cement, and the removal of excessive resin cement with disposable brushes or applicators, apply Power Block onto the restoration margins. Next, perform the light curing of the resin cement with the Power Block, according to the light curing time indicated by the manufacturer, onto all the accessible cementation faces. Power Block is totally water-soluble and can be eliminated with air/water spray. The margins can be finished and polished with a technique at discretion of the professional. Remark: when using self-cured cements, maintain Power Block over the margins over the entire cement polymerization time. For low viscosity cements or composites, make sure to avoid mixing or displacement of the material.
- Composite resin restorations: after applying the last layer of composite resin, before the final light curing, apply a coating of Power Block onto the entire restoration. Next, perform the light curing of the resin cement with the Power Block, according to the light curing time indicated by the manufac- turer. Then, the gel can be removed with air/water spray and the restora- tion can be finished and polished.
