RYNOSKIN RS-FTH-001 Towing Trailer Hitch Receiver

Product Information

This product is a trailer hitch receiver designed for the 2021-2023 Ford Bronco. It allows you to tow trailers and other vehicles behind your vehicle. The installation time may vary depending on the individual, but it typically takes around 90-180 minutes. This trailer hitch receiver does not require any cutting or drilling during installation. It comes with a parts list that includes a receiver towing hitch, a harness bracket, hex bolts, flat washers, and nylon lock nuts. To ensure the longevity of the product, avoid using any polish or wax that contains abrasives as it may damage the finish. Instead, use mild soap to clean the hitch receiver.

For proper installation, you will need a wrench/socket set. It is important not to over torque the bolts and nuts during tightening. Follow the tighten operating load standard provided below:

  • 6mm bolts & nuts: 7 to 8.5 foot-pound
  • 8mm bolts & nuts: 18 to 20 foot-pound
  • 10mm bolts & nuts: 35 to 40 foot-pound
  • 12mm bolts & nuts: 60 to 70 foot-pound

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Locate the mounting location on the rear cross member of your Ford Bronco (refer to Fig 1 in the manual).
  2. Slide the hitch receiver over the cross member (refer to Fig2).
  3. Attach the harness bracket to the driver/left outer hex bolt (refer to Fig 2).
  4. Insert the hex bolts from the front-facing side of the hitch and cross member (refer to Fig 3).
  5. Attach the harness bracket to the driver/left outer hex bolt (refer to Fig 4).
  6. Ensure that the receiver hitch and harness bracket are securely installed (refer to Fig 5).

Remember to follow the specified torque values for tightening the bolts and nuts. Use a wrench/socket set to tighten them accordingly.

TOOLS REQUIRED

  • WRENCH/SOCKET SET

DO NOT OVER TORQUE. PLEASE FOLLOW THE TIGHTEN OPERATING LOAD STANDARD BELOW:

  • 6mm BOLTS & NUTS: FROM 7 TO 8.5 FOOT POUND.
  • 8mm BOLTS & NUTS: FROM 18 TO 20 FOOT POUND.
  • 10mm BOLTS & NUTS: FROM 35 TO 40 FOOT POUND.
  • 12mm BOLTS & NUTS: FROM 60 TO 70 FOOT POUND.

TO PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT, DO NOT USE ANY TYPE OF POLISH OR WAX THAT MAY CONTAIN ABRASIVES THAT COULD DAMAGE THE FINISH. MILD SOAP MAY BE USED TO CLEAN THE PRODUCTS.

PROCEDURE

REMOVE CONTENTS FROM BOX. VERIFY ALL PARTS ARE PRESENT. READ INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE STARTING INSTALLATION.RYNOSKIN-RS-FTH-001-Towing-Trailer-

  1. Locate the mounting holes in the frame cross member behind the rear bumper, (Figure 1).
  2. Carefully unwrap the Receiver Hitch. Line up the holes in the Hitch with the cross member.
  3. Attach the Hitch to the cross member with the included (4) 12mm x 110mm Hex Bolts, (8) 12mm Flat Washers and (4) 12mm Nylon Lock Nuts, (Figures 2 & 3). NOTE: Insert the Hex Bolts from the front of the cross member through the back. Leave hardware loose at this time.
  4. Select the 4-Pin Wire Harness Bracket, (Figure 2). Remove the Flat Washer and Lock Nut from the driver/left outer end of the Receiver Hitch. Slide the Harness Bracket over the end of the Hex Bolt, (Figures 2 & 4). Reuse the Flat Washer and Lock Nut to secure the Bracket to the Hitch.
  5. Center and adjust the Receiver Hitch and fully tighten all hardware.
  6. Attach the trailer harness to the Trailer Connection Tab, if installed, (Figure 5).
  7. Do periodic inspections of the installation to make sure that all hardware is secure and tight.
