Product Information

This product is a Model 1971 fixture. It comes with installation instructions and the following components:

  • Backplate
  • Fixture wires (Black or Smooth)
  • Fixture wires (White or Ribbed)
  • Fixture wires (Bare Copper for Ground)
  • House wires (Black for Hot)
  • House wires (White for Neutral)
  • House wires (Green or Bare Copper for Ground)

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Before starting the installation process, ensure that the power is shut off at the fuse or circuit breaker.
  2. Remove the old fixture, including the crossbar, by following the instructions provided in the manual.
  3. Carefully unpack the new fixture and lay out all the parts.
  4. Mount the backplate according to Fig. 1 in the manual.
  5. Connect the fixture wires as follows:
    • Black or Smooth fixture wire to the Black (Hot) house wire.
    • White or Ribbed fixture wire to the White (Neutral) house wire.
    • Bare Copper fixture wire for Ground to the Green or Bare Copper house wire.
  6. Ensure that the wattage of the fixture does not exceed the maximum wattage rating mentioned in the manual.
  7. Complete the installation by returning power to the junction box.
  8. Test the fixture to ensure proper functionality.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

For Model 1971

WARNING! SHUT POWER OFF AT FUSE OR CIRCUIT BREAKER.

MOUNTING THE BACKPLATE

(Fig.1)

  1. Shut off the power at the circuit breaker and remove old fixture, including the crossbar.
  2. Carefully unpack your new fixture and lay out all the parts on a clear area. Take care not to lose any small parts necessary for installation.
  3. Attach the crossbar to the junction box using two Junction Box Screws. The side of the Crossbar marked “GND” must face out.

  5. At the point, connect the electrical wires as follows, Connect the black wire from the fixture to the black house (hot) wire. Connect the white wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) house wire. Make sure all wire nuts are secured. You may wrap the connections with electrical tape. If your outlet has a ground wire (green or bare copper)connect fixture’s ground wire to it. Otherwise connect fixture’s ground wire directly to the crossbar using the green screw provided.

MOUNTING FIXTURE AND SHADE

  1. After the wires are connected tuck them carefully inside the junction box as you place the Backplate over the nipple. Secure the Backplate against the wall using Hex Nut or Knurled Cap.
  2. Install glass shade by referring to figures 1MINKA-LAVERY-1971-100-W-6-1-2-Inch-1-Light-Medium-Wall-Sconce-FIG- \(1\)
  3. Install light bulbs in accordance with fixtures specifications, DO NOT EXCEED MAXIMUM WATTAGE RATING! (NE PAS DEPASSER LA PUISSANCE NOMINALE MAXIMALE!

Your installation is now complete. Return power to the junction box and test the fixture.
