Product Usage Instructions

First Use

  • Before using the LifeStraw Go Bottle for the first time, make sure to clean it thoroughly.
  • Remove the membrane microfilter from the bottle.
  • Rinse the bottle, cap, and handle with water (no soap).
  • Reassemble the bottle by attaching the membrane microfilter to the cap.
  • Fill the bottle with water and drink through the mouthpiece.
  • Repeat this process a few times to flush out any initial carbon dust from the filter.

Daily Use

  • Ensure that the handle, cap, and mouthpiece are kept away from contaminated water.
  • Fill the bottle with water from a safe source.
  • Drink through the mouthpiece directly or use it to pour filtered water into another container.

Tips

  • Test your LifeStraw Go Bottle before going on a trip to ensure it is functioning properly.
  • When traveling by airplane or experiencing changes in elevation, slowly twist open the full cap and handle to release pressure and avoid leaks.
  • If you notice a slow flow rate, blow air through the mouthpiece to remove potential air bubbles and debris stuck in the membrane.
  • Check the umbrella valve near the mouthpiece for excess dust or debris and clean if necessary.
  • Replace the membrane microfilter when you are unable to sip water through the straw.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Remove the membrane microfilter from the bottle before cleaning.
  • The bottle, cap, and handle are dishwasher safe. Use water (no soap) when rinsing filters.
  • If there is debris or buildup in the mouthpiece, unscrew it from the cap and wash with soap.
  • Ensure that the inside of the cap is dry before reassembling the handle and storing after use.
