maQuira-IONGLASS-R-Glass-Ionomer-for-Restoration-fig-1

PRESENTATION

1 Bottle longlass R powder with 10 g, 1 bottle longlass R liquid with 8 mL, 1 measure spoon and 1 spatulation block.

DESCRIPTION

longlass R is a highly resistant, aesthetic, self-curing glass Ionomer with adequate viscosity indicated for restorative work. It has excellent biocompatibility and a low risk of post-operative sensitivity. It has an optimal marginal sealing in the cavity and inhibits gap formation.

INDICATION OF USE

1ONGLASS R is indicated for ART (Atraumatic Restorative Treatment) technique, in all classes of restorations, provisional restorations in permanent teeth (classes I, II, Ill and IV), base of definitive restoration, non-carious lesions and provisional cementation of prosthetic pieces.

COMPOSITION

  • Powder: Glass Powder.
  • Liquid: Polyacrylic acid.

MODE OF USE

  1. The operative field must be kept free of contamination. Use effective absolute isolation or relative isolation.

  2. Remove decayed tissue, prepare the cavity, clean and dry thoroughly without retentions. In very deep cavities it is recommended to use a calcium hydroxide based liner.

  3. Ensure that there are no residues of other products that could have a negative effect on the properties of the material.

  4. Gently shake the powder before use to homogenize the product. For accurate liquid dosing, expel air before dispensing the product and turn the bottle upside down.

  5. Prepare the material in the following proportion: 1 shallow measure of the powder dosing spoon to 1 drop of liquid. Using the mixing pad or a glass plate, place the powder and liquid side by side. Slowly add the powder to the liquid with the aid of the plastic spatula for glass ionomer lonomix (Maquira) until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Take care that the mixing time does not exceed 1 minute.

  6. Apply the material into the cavity while still shiny, using a Precision pistol (Maquira) or a suitable instrument, taking care not to incorporate air bubbles.

  7. During the setting phase, avoid contact with saliva and water, because the material is vulnerable.

  8. Excess material can be removed with an explorer probe during the plastic phase of the product.

  9. The ideal working time is a maximum of 3 minutes. The setting time is a maximum of 6 minutes. After this time, excesses can be removed with suitable instruments.
Note: The temperature range for the given times is 18 °C to 32 °C. Temperatures above decrease the working time and temperatures below increase the set times.

  10. Cover the restoration with a surface protection agent for protection against moisture.

  11. For improved finishing and polishing, wait 24 hours after insertion of the material.

  12. After use rinse used materials with cold water before material residue solidifies.
