FORTIN 80461 2017 Mazda 5 Remote Starters Regular Key and Alarm Systems
Product Information
The product is a vehicle bypass firmware for Mazda 5 vehicles manufactured between 2011 and 2017. It is designed to be used in conjunction with the OEM alarm system and allows for remote start and lock/unlock functions.
Firmware Version
The minimum required firmware version for this product is 71.[44]. To
update the firmware and add options, you will need to use the FLASH LINK
UPDATER or FLASH LINK MOBILE tool, which are sold separately.
Program Bypass Option
If the vehicle is not equipped with a functional hood pin, you can program
the bypass option using the unit’s A11 option. Set A11 to OFF if the vehicle
can be remote started with the hood open.
Remote Start Functions
- Unlock before remote-start & Lock after remote-start
- Program remote starter option: Mode 5
Security Sticker
A security sticker is included with the product to warn that it must be
installed by a qualified technician. Incorrect connections can cause permanent
damage to the vehicle.
Wiring Connections
The product requires various wiring connections for its installation. These
include connections to the parking light harness, ignition harness,
transponder connector, and other components. Please refer to the user manual
for detailed wiring diagrams and instructions.
Product Usage Instructions
- Ensure that your vehicle is a Mazda 5 model manufactured between 2011 and 2017.
- If your vehicle is not equipped with a functional hood pin, use the FLASH LINK UPDATER or FLASH LINK MOBILE tool to add the firmware version and options.
- If your vehicle is equipped with the OEM alarm system, program the bypass option using the unit’s A11 setting. Set A11 to OFF if your vehicle can be remote started with the hood open.
- For remote start functions, follow these steps:
- Before remote-start, the vehicle will be unlocked.
- After remote-start, the vehicle will be locked.
- Program the remote starter option using Mode 5.
- Ensure that the product is installed by a qualified technician to avoid any damage to the vehicle.
- Refer to the user manual for detailed wiring instructions and diagrams to connect the product to the parking light harness, ignition harness, transponder connector, and other components.
- Make sure to cut the loop for automatic transmission mode if applicable.
- Follow the wiring connections specified in the user manual for proper installation.

HOOD STATUS : THE HOOD PIN SWITCH (INCLUDED) MUST BE INSTALLED IF THE VEHICLE CAN BE REMOTE STARTED WITH THE HOOD OPEN, SET FUNCTION A11 TO OFF.
Notice: the installation of safety elements are mandatory. The hood pin
and the sticker are essential security elements and must be installed.
THIS MODULE MUST BE INSTALLED BY A QUALIFIED TECHNICIAN. A WRONG CONNECTION
CAN CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE.

Some vehicles must be UNLOCKED to disarm the OEM alarm before remote start. Enable option D2 using the FlashLink Manager. When this option is enabled the module will automatically UNLOCK before remote start and LOCK after the vehicle has remote started.
