Product Information

The IDLC-25 series is a 25W Constant Current Mode LED Driver. It is designed to provide a constant current output to power LED lighting fixtures. The driver operates within a voltage range of 90-295VAC and a frequency range of 47-63Hz. It has a high power factor, with PF>0.95 at 115VAC, PF>0.92 at 230VAC, and PF>0.9 at 277VAC at full load.

The IDLC-25 series offers three different models:

  • IDLC-25-350: Rated current of 350mA and rated power of 24.5W. The constant current region is 49-70V, and the output open circuit voltage is maximum 100V.
  • IDLC-25-500: Rated current of 500mA and rated power of 25W. The constant current region is 35-50V, and the output open circuit voltage is maximum 75V.
  • IDLC-25-700: Rated current of 700mA and rated power of 25.2W. The constant current region is 25.2-36V, and the output open circuit voltage is maximum 63V.

The IDLC-25 series also includes an IDLC-25-1050 model with a rated current of 1050mA, rated power of 25.2W, constant current region of 16.8-24V, and maximum output open circuit voltage of 36V. The driver has a setup time of 500ms/230VAC or 1200ms/115VAC. It provides an auxiliary DC output of nominal 12V at 50mA (for A-Type only). The total harmonic distortion is less than 20% at load conditions of 70%/115VAC, 230VAC or 75%/277VAC. The efficiency of the driver is approximately 82%.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Ensure that the input voltage is within the range of 90-295VAC and the frequency is within the range of 47-63Hz.
  2. Connect the LED lighting fixture to the driver’s output terminals, matching the required constant current and voltage specifications.
  3. If applicable, connect any auxiliary devices that require a nominal 12V DC output to the A-Type auxiliary output terminals.
  4. Check the total load connected to the circuit breaker. The IDLC-25 driver can support a maximum of 32 units (circuit breaker of type B) or 32 units (circuit breaker of type C) at 230VAC.
  5. Ensure proper grounding of the driver and all connected devices to prevent leakage current.
  6. To start the driver, apply power by connecting it to a suitable power source. The driver has a cold start inrush current of 0.4A/115VAC, 0.16A/230VAC, and 0.13A/277VAC.

Description

IDLC-25 series is a 25W LED AC/DC driver featuring the constant current mode output with flicker free design.IDLC-25 operates from 90~295VAC and offers models with different rated current ranging between 350mA and 1050mA. Thanks to the efficiency up to 82%, with the fanless design, the entire series is able to operate for -20 C~+90°C case temperature under free air convection. IDLC-25 is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, so as to provide the optimal design flexibility for lighting system.

NOTE|

  1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at 230VAC input, rated current and 25°C of ambient temperature.
  2. Please refer to “DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE”.
  3. De-rating may be needed under low input voltages. Please refer to “STATIC CHARACTERISTIC” sections for details.
  4. Length of set up time is measured at cold first start. Turning ON/OFF the driver may lead to increase of the set up time.
  5. Aux. 12v will be damaged with short circuit; It will not be available when output voltage is not in constant current region or output no load condition.
  6. The driver is considered as a component that will be operated in combination with final equipment. Since EMC performance will be affected by the complete installation, the final equipment manufacturers must re-qualify MC Directive on the complete installation again.
  7. The ambient temperature derating of 3.5°C/1000m with fanless models and of 5°C/1000m with fan models for operating altitude higher than 2000m(6500ft).
  8. To fulfill requirements of the latest Er regulation for lighting fixtures, this LED power supply can only be used behind a switch without permanently connected to the mains.

DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE

  • This series works in constant current mode to directly drive the LEDs.

In the constant current region, the highest voltage at the output of the driver depends on the configuration of the end systems. Should there be any compatibility issues, please contact MEAN WELL.

DIMMING OPERATION

2 in 1 dimming function

  • Output constant current level can be adjusted by applying one of the two methodologies between DIM+ and DIM-: 0 ~ 10VDC, or 10V PWM signal.
  • Direct connecting to LEDs is suggested. It is not suitable to be used with additional drivers.

Note:

  1. Min. dimming level is about 8% and the output current is not defined when 0%< Iout<8%.
  2. The output current could drop down to 0% when dimming input is about 0Vdc or 10V PWM signal with 0% duty cycle.
