Important safety instructions! Please read before connection!

DANGER! (Electric shock due to high voltages in the device)
The housing must not be removed! There are no parts to be maintained in the device.
Inside the unit there are components which are under high electrical voltage.
Before each use, check the device for damage or the absence of components, protective devices or housing parts. If this is the case, do not use the device!
Leave maintenance and repair work to a qualified service workshop or contact your dealer.

DANGER! (Electric shock due to short circuit)
Modifications to the power cord or plug are prohibited. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced immediately with an original spare part from the manufacturer. Failure to do so may result in fire or death due to electric shock!

DANGER! (For babies and children)
Dispose of or store any packaging material properly! Packaging material must be kept out of the reach of babies and children due to the danger of suffocation.
Make sure that children never use the device unattended! In addition, make sure that children do not remove (small) parts from the device, as they could suffocate by swallowing parts!

Hint! (Fire hazard due to overheating)
The maximum permissible ambient temperature of this device is 40°C.
Ensure that the unit is placed in a place with adequate ventilation, out of the reach of direct heat sources, naked flames and combustible materials and liquids.
The ventilation slots of the device must not be taped or covered.

Hint! (Operating conditions)
Due to its structural characteristics, the device is designed for indoor operation (IP20).
Never expose the device to rain, moisture or liquids as this may cause damage.
Vibrations, dust or solar radiation can also lead to damage, avoid them!

Hint! (Condensation)
To avoid condensation in the unit, the unit should adapt to the ambient temperature
before commissioning.

Hint! (Power supply)
This microphone contains an integrated USB audio interface, as well as the necessary microphone amplification. This makes it completely “self-powered” and no cumbersome handling of power supplies etc. necessary.
Can also be used immediately in mobile operation.

Hint! (Unwanted odours)
A new product can sometimes lead to unwanted odours. This reaction is normal and disappears after a few minutes.

The lightning flash symbol warns the user about non-insulated current and the risk of electrocution.
The exclamation mark symbol warns the user about important maintenance and operating instructions in the manual.

Scope of delivery:

Intended use:

The FAME Audio USB Vocal Kit has a USB port and can therefore be connected to your Mac or PC. It is a high-quality microphone with an integrated audio interface, so no additional interface is required. Due to its technical and sound characteristics, the  microphone is ideal for film dubbing, voice-over, multimedia applications and home studio music productions. The driver architecture is already integrated in Windows and OSX operating systems and no further installation is required.
The device may only be operated for this purpose and in accordance with the operating instructions. Other purposes as well as operation under other operating conditions are expressly not intended and can lead to damage to property or personal injury! No  liability is assumed for damage resulting from improper use.
It must be ensured that the device is operated exclusively by trained and competent users who are in full possession of their mental, physical and sensory abilities. The use of other persons is expressly only permitted at the request of a person responsible for their  safety, who instructs or supervises the use.

Installation:

Always check the device for damage before use. Use the original packaging or suitable transport or storage packaging to protect the product optimally from influences such as dust or moisture, etc. when not in use.

Note!
The following points should be observed to avoid serious problems or damage.

• To prevent damage to the sensitive microphone capsule, never remove the microphone grille.
• Never pull or plug-in the cable during operation.
• Dropping the microphone can cause serious damage to both the interior and the housing.
• The microphone should be stored safely after each use / placed in the transport packaging.
• Please use only slightly damp cloths for cleaning.
• Only clean the microphone when it is not connected / in use.
• Liquids of any kind should be kept away from the product. The penetration of liquid can cause serious damage to the technology.
• Observe the specified sound pressure level/noise level spacing to prevent damage to the diaphragm caused by extreme levels.
• Avoid feedback by keeping the microphone away from activated speakers that are simultaneously monitoring the signal. If necessary, switch off the speakers completely.

Hint!
Feedback can cause enormous damage to loudspeaker membranes.

Directional Characteristics:

Microphones have one or more directional characteristics in order to achieve better sound recording results, depending on the application. Sound arriving at the capsule from certain angles can be erased, damped or not influenced at all. How strong or weak  these effects are depends on the microphone. The main polar patterns are omnidirectional and figure-eight, while the cardioid, wide cardioid, supercardioid and hypercardioid characteristics are mixed.
Example application 1: Omnidirectional
Since the omnidirectional characteristic has no suppression due to the design of the microphone, sound from all directions can be picked up almost uniformly.
Example application 2: Cardioid
Sound hitting the rear is suppressed or damped by the cardioid characteristic. The focus here is on the direct signal.

The included USB condenser microphone features a cardioid characteristic that effectively cancels or attenuates sound from the rear (at 180° or below). This microphone is therefore ideal for voice, vocal, voice-over and instrument pickups.

Troubleshooting:

The following overview serves as an aid for quick troubleshooting. If you should be uncertain, contact the manufacturer, the dealer or the corresponding specialist personnel. Never open the the device on your own!

Check the plug connection
Microphone with DAW activation or direct monitoring activation
Microphone may need to be calibrated. Please read the software manual of the DAW  in question.
Delayed sound| Change the buffer size in the DAW settings. The lower the number, the lower the  latency. (Note: with a low buffer size, the computer needs a higher performance.  Depending on the computer, this can lead to higher performance losses).

Cleaning:

A regular cleaning of the device from impurities and dust increases the durability of the product.
Always disconnect the device from the power supply before cleaning it! Never clean the appliance wet! Optical lenses should be cleaned with a dry microfiber cloth to optimize light output.
Ventilation grilles and openings should always be cleaned of dust and dirt. Suitable compressed air sprays are recommended for this application.

Environmental Protection:

Disposal of packaging:
Ensure that paper packaging, plastic materials, etc. are separately recycled. Observe the corresponding disposal instructions on the packaging.
Disposal of batteries:
Batteries should not be thrown away! Please dispose of batteries in accordance with official regulations.
Disposal of your old device:
Do not dispose of the device with household waste! This device is subject to the WEEE Directive (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) in its currently valid version.

The device is to be disposed of by an approved disposal company or your local waste disposal service. The regulations applicable in your country must be observed!
