OVERVIEW

OPERATION
Ensure vehicle has CarPlay
- Plug an iPhone (running iOS 10 or newer) into the car USB ports with genuine factory lightning cable. If there is a notification pop up on iPhone like below, that your car has built-in Apple CarPlay.
- If a CarPlay icon appears on the vehicle’s audio unit, the vehicle has built-in Apple CarPlay.
- If not, contact your vehicle manufacturer dealer for further assistance.
Powering the CarPlay adapter
Using one of the supplier USB cables, connect the USB-C connector to the
CarPlay adapter then connect the other end to your vehicle’s dedicated wired
CarPlay port.
Note The adapter should be plugged into the USB port that is for wired Apple CarPlay connecting if there are multi-USB ports in your car.
Connecting to the CarPlay Adapter
- Turn on your iPhone’s Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, then connect to the Bluetooth device named “AUTO-XXXX”
- Tap “Pair-Allow-Use CarPlay” on the iPhone popup notification.
- Your phone will wireless connect to the CarPlay adapter in a few minutes and the CarPlay interface will display on your vehicle’s audio unit.
Note: Before pairing to a new iPhone, disconnect the currently connected phone from any other Bluetooth/Wi-Fi device.
Updating the Firmware
Note: Firmware updating is NOT recommended if every functioning well.
- If your iPhone is currently connected to the CarPlay adapter, enter ‘192.168.1.101’ on your Phone’s browser.
- If an update is available, tap ‘Update’.
- If your iPhone failed to connect to the CarPlay adapter, search for and join the adapter’s Wi-Fi network ‘AUTO-XXXX’ and the enter the password ‘88888888’.
- Enter 192.168.1.101 on your Phone’s browser, if an update is available, tap ‘Update’.
- The blue and red LED indicators will flash alternative while updating. Wait for more 30s after the white indicator is solid, then disconnect and reconnect the adapter from USB port to finish the whole update.
Submitting an Error Report
On the same page as the firmware update, fill in your vehicle’s make, model
years and issue details, then tap “Submit” to report the issue.
