Product Information

The 240W Constant Voltage + Constant Current LED Driver belongs to the HBG-240 series. It is designed for DA Type only and comes with a circular metal housing with a class design. The LED driver has a built-in active PFC function and is rated IP67/IP65 for indoor or outdoor installations. It offers various function options such as output adjustable via potentiometer, 3-in-1 dimming, and DALI  control technology. The LED driver has a typical lifetime of more than 50,000 hours and comes with a 5-year warranty. It complies with IS 15885(Part 2/Sec13) standards.

The LED driver is suitable for applications like LED bay lighting, LED stage lighting, and LED spotlighting.

Product Usage Instructions

To use the HBG-240 series LED driver, follow these instructions:

  1. Ensure that the input voltage range is within 90VAC to 305VAC or 127VDC to 431VDC.
  2. Connect the LED driver to the LED lighting fixture using appropriate wiring.
  3. If required, adjust the output current using the built-in potentiometer. For A/AB-Type, the current can be adjusted between 6A to 10A. For DA-Type, the current can be adjusted between 4A to 6.7A.
  4. If dimming functionality is desired, use the 3-in-1 dimming function. It supports 1~10Vdc, 10V PWM signal, and resistance-based dimming methods.
  5. If DALI control is preferred, configure the LED driver accordingly.
  6. Ensure that the LED driver is installed in a suitable location, considering its IP67/IP65 rating for indoor or outdoor installations.
  7. Make sure the LED driver is powered by a circuit breaker of type B (maximum 2 units) or type C (maximum 3 units) when using a 16A circuit breaker.

Description

HBG-240 series is a 240W AC/DC LED driver featuring a circular shape design. It operates from 90~305VAC and offers dual modes constant voltage and constant current output models with different rated voltages between 24V and 60V. Thanks to the high efficiency of up to 93.5%, with the fanless design, the entire series can operate for -40℃ ~ +75℃ case temperature under free air convection. The design of metal housing and IP67/IP65 ingress protection level allows this series to fit both indoor and outdoor applications. HBG-240 is equipped with various function options, such as dimming methodologies, to provide optimal design flexibility for LED lighting systems.

3. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz of bandwidth by using a 12″ twisted pair-wire terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf parallel capacitor.

9. To fulfil the requirements of the latest ErP regulation for lighting fixtures, this LED driver can only be used behind a switch without being permanently connected to the mains.

10. This series meets the typical life expectancy of >50,000 hours of operation when Tcase, particularly tc point (or TMP, per DLC), is about 70℃ or less.

DRIVING METHODS OF LED MODULE

This series can work in either Constant Current mode (a direct driveway) or Constant Voltage mode (usually through an additional DC/DC driver) to drive the LEDs.

In the constant current region, the highest voltage at the output of the driver depends on the configuration of the end systems. Should there be any compatibility issues, please contact MEAN WELL.

  • All screws including the suspension screw should be paired with a spring washer and locked tight.
  • The entire luminaire, including the driver, should be limited to 15 kg or less.
