the dishwasher.
▶ Clean the appliance at least once every 3 months to maintain optimum

▶ Store the coffee maker in a dry place where it is not very hot.
DECALCIFICATION
▶ You must descale the appliance periodically, otherwise the taste of the
coffee will be bad and the lime deposited inside the coffee maker can cause
permanent and irreparable damage to the machine.
▶ If you notice an increase in noise during boiling, the coffee maker takes
longer to prepare the coffee or the appliance turns off before the water tank
empties, it may be due to the need for descaling.
▶ The frequency depends on the hardness of the water and the frequency with
which you prepare coffee.
▶ In general, you must decalcify with the following frequency:
• With soft water, a minimum of once every three months.
• With hard water, a minimum of once a month.
▶ If you do not know what the hardness of your water is, check this with your
local water company
▶ We recommend that you use a specific liquid softener for coffee machines and
that you carefully read the instructions on its packaging or in the user
manual before using it.
▶ Mix the appropriate amount of softener with cold water in a measuring jug.
Note: do not use powder softener.
▶ Fill the water tank to the maximum level with the prepared solution.
▶ Start the coffee maker and allow the water tank to drain completely as if
you were brewing coffee, but without a paper filter or ground coffee in the
filter holder.
▶ Repeat steps 1 to 3 to perform another disqualification cycle.
▶ Note: do not fill the water tank with the descaling solution already used
because it will not have the same effects.
▶ Let the coffee maker run two more cycles with cold water to remove all
residues of the descaling solution.
Important:
a) Do not interrupt the descaling process.
b) The guarantee does not cover the malfunction of the appliance caused by
lime particles if the self-cleaning process has not been carried out
correctly.
PROBLEM RESOLUTION
Below we give you the solution to some of the most common problems.
In the event that you cannot solve your problem with the proposed solutions,
contact the nearest authorized establishment to examine, repair or make the
necessary adjustments to the device:
▶ If the coffee machine does not work: make sure that the voltage indicated on
the appliance matches the voltage of the local supply network. Make sure the
appliance is connected and switched on.
▶ If water drips from the coffee machine: check whether the maximum level of
the water tank has been exceeded.
▶If the coffee maker makes a lot of noise and emits steam during brewing: make
sure that the water tank does not contain hot water. The coffee machine needs
descaling (see the (Descaling) section.
▶ If the ground coffee falls into the carafe: check if the filter holder has
overflowed due to too much ground coffee in the filter or if the carafe is
correctly placed under the filter holder. Another reason may be that the jug
is removed for more than 30 seconds while the coffee machine is operating,
avoid it. Check if the filter is broken or if you are using the wrong size
paper filter.
▶ If the preparation of the coffee takes longer than usual: the coffee machine
needs descaling (see “Descaling” section).
▶ If the coffee machine turns off before the water tank is completely emptied:
the coffee machine needs descaling (see “Descaling” section).
▶ If the coffee is not strong enough: check that you have used enough coffee.
You should use one heaping tablespoon of ground coffee for each cup. Check
that the coffee you are using is not mild in flavor.
▶ If the coffee is too strong: check that you have used too much coffee. You
should use one heaping tablespoon of ground coffee for each cup
▶ If the coffee does not taste good: check if the coffee pot has been left on
the heating plate for too long, especially if it only contains a small amount
of coffee.
▶ If the coffee is not hot enough: check if you have made too little coffee.
The coffee will be hot for longer if more is prepared. Be sure to place the
carafe correctly on the heating plate
▶ It is difficult to place or remove the jug from the coffee maker: Make sure
that the lid of the jug and the filter basket are in the correct position.
Tilt the carafe slightly when placing or removing it from the coffee maker. Be
careful not to spill the hot coffee, it could burn you.
▶ If there is less coffee in the carafe than you expected: check if you have
correctly placed the carafe on the heating plate, in such a way that the anti-
drip valve prevents the coffee from spilling out of the filter. Or if the
coffee machine needs descaling (see “Descaling” section).
