GIS Data Analytics Lead I

Summary/Objective EDM International, Inc. is seeking a GIS Data Analytics Lead to support the GIS Manager by performing geospatial analysis and modeling centered around electric utility infrastructure, with an emphasis on wildfire and asset risk modeling. This position has an opportunity to further branch out into other disciplines such as LiDAR, data science, machine learning/AI, geostatistics, and GIS web app development. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Creating and deploying GIS-based models and dashboards in support of the Wildfire Mitigation,

Utility Services, and Environmental Services teams

·

Creating data pipelines and process flows

·

Automation of geoprocessing workflows via software or scripting

·

Development of QA/QC and data validation protocols

·

Database design/schema development and data management

·

Reviewing or applying AI and machine learning concepts to modeling outputs and solutions

·

Providing ad-hoc SME support to Geospatial Solutions and GIS Operations sub- sectors

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

·

B.S./M.S. in Geography, Data Science, Computer Science, Environmental Science or related field.

·

5+ years of experience in GIS-related positions

·

GISP or GISP-eligible

·

Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, Modelbuilder, and Spatial Analyst

·

Proficiency in R, FME and dashboards, such as Operations Dashboard, Power BI, or Tableau

·

Proficiency in both vector and raster analysis

·

Proficiency in Python, particularly in the Esri environment

·

Geodatabase design, data model design and management

·

Proficiency in GIS web services, and creating apps within ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Portal

·

Knowledge base in fundamentals and resources pertaining to machine learning and AI

·

Knowledge base in wildfire science

·

Knowledge base in electric utility operations and asset management

·

Foundational knowledge of statistics, data analytics, and data science

·

Knowledge of PostgreSQL and/or SQL Server, including query views and ad-hoc queries

·

Experience with APIs, including Esri Python, Esri JavaScript, and Esri REST
