TECHNICAL DATA
Measuring range : 5 – 25 Nm
Socket : 1/4″
DESCRIPTION
The measurement range is 5–25 Nm with an accuracy of ±4%. Excellent tool for the repair and maintenance of motorcycles and other vehicles as the bolts can be set with high precision.
USE
-
Release the adjuster mechanism by undoing the locking screws. FIG. 1
-
Turn the handle clockwise to increase, or anticlockwise to reduce the set torque.
-
The product has two scales. The set torque consists of the sum of the settings on both scales. For example to set 56 Nm, turn the handle until the edge of the adjuster ring is at the line for 50 and the line for 0 is in lie with the vertical line. FIG. 2
-
The set torque is then 50 Nm. Turn the adjuster ring until the line for 6 is in line with the vertical line. FIG. 3
-
Tighten the locking screws when the required torque has been set.
-
When tightening fasteners, hold the handle and tighten in the required direction until it clicks and you feel a jolt. **FIG. 4
**
MAINTENANCE
- Clean product with a soft cloth. Do not use detergent that can affect the lubricant in the product.
- Store the product in its case, set to the lowest torque to relieve the spring.
- The internal spring in the product must be tensioned to retain precision. To tension the spring, lock the product head in a vice or with an attached fastener and move the handle clockwise until it clicks. If this is not done there is a risk that the torque setting will not work properly, which can give an incorrect value.
- The torque wrench should be calibrated once a year or after reaching 5000 cycles.
The calibration should be carried out by an authorized service center.
