Product Information
The PFS (House Side Shield) is a versatile option designed to address spill light issues. It is compatible with all optical distributions and is intended for field installation. The shield measures 2″ high and 6″ long, and it is available in black. It features 4 horizontal sections and 4 vertical sections that can be cut if adjustments are needed. Each section measures 0.5″ high x 1.25″ long. The PFS is designed to eliminate spill light from one side of a single square. If multiple squares are used, each square will require a PFS kit to fully shield the light square and provide adequate stability for the shield. Each PFS kit includes 4 shields and 4 screws. One kit is recommended per light square.

Product Usage Instructions
Tools Required

  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • Utility snips (optional)
  1. Before installing, calculate the shield dimensions needed, adjusting the height or width by cutting along the grooved sections (optional). Refer to FIG 1 for measurements.
  2. Remove the four screws which secure the light square and trim ring to the fixture.
  3. Remove the trim ring and place the PFS shield over the light square where required. Refer to FIG 2 for reference.
  4. If multiple shields are needed on the same light square, ensure the tabs overlap correctly for a secure fit. Refer to FIG 3 for guidance.
  5. Fasten the light square and shield(s) in place with the screws provided. See FIG 4 for an illustration.

  • Risk of Fire- Refer to the product label for specific minimum supply conductor requirements.
  • Risk of Burn- Disconnect power and allow the fixture to cool before handling or servicing.
  • Risk of Personal Injury- The fixture may become damaged and/or unstable if not installed properly.
  • Failure to comply with these instructions may result in death, serious bodily injury, and property damage.

NOTICE: The green ground wire was provided in the proper location. Do not relocate.
ATTENTION Receiving Department: Note the actual fixture description of any shortage or noticeable damage on the delivery receipt. File a claim for common carrier (LTL) directly with the carrier. Claims for concealed damage must be filed within 15 days of delivery. All damaged material, complete with original packing must be retained.

Safety: This fixture must be wired in accordance with the National Electrical Code and applicable local codes and ordinances. Proper grounding is required to ensure personal safety. Carefully observe the grounding procedure under the installation section.
APPLICATIONS: This lighting fixture is designed for outdoor lighting services, and should not be used in areas of limited ventilation or inside high ambient temperature enclosures. It must be stored in a dry location prior to installation. Do not expose the lighting fixture to rain, dust or other environmental conditions prior to installation and insertion of photo control or shorting cap (if so equipped). The best results will be obtained if installed and maintained according to the following recommendations.

Overview

Each section measures 0.5” high x 1.25” long. Horizontal angles of occlusion, measured perpendicular to
the shield from the farthest LED is as follows (FIG 1):

  • No adjustment: 25°
  • Remove one horizontal section: 20°
  • Remove two horizontal sections: 14°
  • Remove three horizontal sections: 8°
