BEGA 50931.4 Ceiling Luminaire or Downlight for Indoor Use
Product Information
The product is a luminaire that requires installation and operation in
accordance with national safety regulations. It is recommended to have a
qualified electrician carry out the installation and commissioning. The
manufacturer does not accept liability for damage caused by improper use or
installation. The luminaire is equipped with electronic components that are
protected against overvoltage according to DIN EN 61547. However, for
additional protection against transients, it is recommended to use separate
overvoltage protection components.
The product features a LED module with a connected wattage of 3.9 W and a
luminaire connected wattage of 5 W. The rated temperature is 25°C, and the
ambient temperature should not exceed 50°C. The LED module has a module
designation of LED-1029/930 with a color temperature of 3000 K. The color
rendering index (CRI) is greater than 90, and the module luminous flux is 525
lm. The luminaire luminous flux is 346 lm, and the luminaire luminous
efficiency is 69.2 lm/W.
Product Usage Instructions

Safety: Follow national safety regulations during installation and operation. Only allow a qualified electrician to carry out the installation and commissioning. The manufacturer is not liable for damage caused by improper use or installation.

Overvoltage Protection: The luminaire is equipped with built-in overvoltage protection against transients. For additional protection, it is recommended to use separate overvoltage protection components available on the manufacturer’s website.

Installation:
- Handle the LED module with care during installation to avoid touching the light output opening directly.
- Ensure precise positioning of the luminaire housing in relation to the mounting plate. The vertical bar inside the luminaire housing should align with the mounting hole on the long bar of the mounting plate.
- Press the luminaire housing firmly against the mounting plate and turn it clockwise until it stops.
- Attach the enclosed trim ring with the reflector by turning it
clockwise into the luminaire housing.

Replacing the LED Module:
- Disconnect the electrical installation before replacing the LED module.
- Open the luminaire according to the provided instructions.
- Refer to the installation instructions for the LED module and follow them carefully.
- Close the luminaire after replacing the LED module.

Safety
The installation and operation of this luminaire are subject to national
safety regulations. Installation and commissioning may only be carried out by
a qualified electrician.
The manufacturer accepts no liability for damage caused by improper use or
installation. If subsequent modifications are made to the luminaire, the
person responsible for these modifications shall be considered the
manufacturer.
Overvoltage protection
- The electronic components installed in the luminaire are protected against overvoltage in accordance with DIN EN 61547.
- To achieve an additional protection against e. g. transients, etc. we recommend separate overvoltage protection components.

Installation
- LED are high-quality electronic components! Please avoid touching the light output opening of the LED directly during installation or relamping.
- Remove mounting plate from the luminaire housing.
- Unplug the earth conductor connection (plug contact).
Please note:
- If the luminaire is to be mounted onto a metallic, electroconductive surface, it is mandatory to make sure that the mounting surface is connected conductive to the earth conductor of the luminaire!
- Lead the power connecting cable through the mounting plate.
- Fix the mounting plate with enclosed or any other suitable fixing material onto the mounting surface.
- Establish the earth conductor connection on the earthing screw (1) of the mounting plate. Establish the earth conductor connection to the luminaire housing (plug contact).
- Push silicone hoses over connecting wires and make the electrical connection at the terminal marked (L) and (N).
IMPORTANT:
- To ensure a secure connection, the luminaire housing must be positioned precisely in relation to the mounting plate.
- Make sure that the vertical bar inside the luminaire housing is positioned precisely in the area of the mounting hole on the long bar of the mounting plate.
- Press the luminaire housing firmly against the mounting plate and turn it clockwise firmly against the stop.
- Screw the enclosed trim ring with the attached reflector into the luminaire housing by turning it clockwise.
Cleaning Maintenance
Clean the luminaire regularly with solvent-free cleansers from dirt.
Replacing the LED module
- The designation of the LED module is noted on a label in the luminaire.
- The light color and light output of BEGA replacement modules correspond to those of the modules originally fitted. The module can be replaced by qualified persons using standard tools.
- Disconnect the electrical installation.
- Open the luminaire.
- Please follow the installation instructions for the LED module.
- Close the luminaire.
