Product Information

This product is a floodlight with symmetrical light distribution. It is designed for recessed mounting in compacted surfaces, paths, and places. It is specifically designed as a drive-over luminaire for vehicles with pneumatic tires. However, it should not be used for installation in road lanes where it may be exposed to horizontal strain due to braking, acceleration, and change of direction.

The installation and operation of this luminaire must comply with national safety regulations. Only qualified electricians should perform the installation and commissioning. The manufacturer does not accept liability for damage caused by improper use or installation. If any modifications are made to the luminaire, the person responsible for these modifications will be considered the manufacturer.

The luminaire can only be operated with an operating device that meets the requirements according to EN 61347-2-13. The maximum idle voltage of 60 V DC must conform to SELV or SELV equivalent.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Prior to installation, ensure that a proper foundation capable of accepting a maximum pressure load of 2,000 kg (~20 kN) is provided by the customer. The pressure load is transferred to the foundation by the luminaire housing.
  2. The foundation must be carried out on a firm subgrade to ensure stability.
  3. The luminaire housing must be firmly concreted in to achieve firm stability.
  4. Ensure that the operating device used with the luminaire meets the requirements according to EN 61347-2-13 and has a maximum idle voltage of 60 V DC conforming to SELV or SELV equivalent.

Notice prior to installation:

  • To accept the maximum pressure load of 2,000 kg (~20 kN) a proper foundation must be provided by the customer.
  • The pressure load is transferred to the foundation by this luminaire housing provided at the site.
  • The foundation must be carried out on firm subgrade.
  • In order to obtain a firm stableness, the luminaire housing must be firmly concreted.

Installation

  • A 24 V safety direct voltage source with a smoothed residual ripple of max. 10 % is required for the electrical connection of the luminaire – see accessories.
  • If other safety direct voltage sources are used, an upstream fuse (max. 6 A) must be provided by the customer.
  • Connect the black line with the negative and the red line with the positive terminal of the mains supply unit.
  • Position luminaire housing on the foundation (as described above) and fix it with enclosed or any other suitable fixing material.
  • To protect the luminaire connecting the cable from damage push the enclosed cable conduits over the cable.
  • Push the long corrugated tube (ø 20 mm) over the connecting cable up to the water stop.
  • Push the short corrugated tube (ø 25 mm) over the water stop up to the housing.
  • The electrical connection at the luminaire connecting cable must be carried out on-site according to the protection class and safety class.
  • We recommend using a distribution box 70 730 or 71 053.
  • After finishing the groundwork remove the protection foil from the luminaire cover.
  • Tighten the screws in the trim ring evenly crosswise.
  • Torque = 3Nm.

Please note:

  • Do not remove the desiccant bag from the luminaire housing.
  • It is needed to remove residual moisture.

Cleaning · Maintenance

  • After installation, the luminaire should first be cleaned. Building dust, residues from contact adhesives, paint splashes, and rust film must be completely removed. Never use high-pressure cleaners and cleaning implements made of normal steel, steel brushes, or steel wool because they cause extraneous rust to form.
  • When using stainless steel cleaners, please read the directions carefully.
  • Cleaning agents containing hydrochloric acid and chlorides should never be used.
  • We recommend cleaning the luminaires regularly

Replacing the LED module

  • The designation of the LED module is noted on a label in the luminaire.
  • The light color and light output of BEGA replacement modules correspond to those of the modules originally fitted. The module can be replaced by qualified persons using standard tools.
  • Disconnect the electrical installation.
  • Clean dirt and deposits from key openings of the screw head. Do not use a high-pressure cleaner. Open the luminaire and clean it. Use only solvent-free cleansers. Dismantle the
  • LED-board unit and disconnect the connecting cable at the terminal of the LED board unit.
  • Make the electrical connection of the new LED board unit.
  • Fix the LED board unit in the luminaire housing.
  • Check all screws and threads thoroughly and grease. Check the gasket and replace, it if necessary. The luminaire housing must be completely clean and absolutely dry. Close the luminaire. Torque = 3 Nm. Chemicals that have a corroding effect must not affect the luminaire housing.
