Product Usage Instructions

• The installation and operation of this luminaire should only be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with national safety regulations. Failure to do so may result in damage or injury for which the manufacturer accepts no liability.
• Before installation, ensure that the power supply unit is suitable for the operation of one LED luminaire.
• If you need additional protection against overvoltage or transients, we recommend using separate overvoltage protection components. You can find them on our website at www.bega.com.

When installing the luminaire, follow these steps:

1. Make sure the power supply unit is turned off.
2. Connect the lamp module to the luminaire.
3. Ensure that the connected wattage of the lamp module is 13.5 W.
4. Connect the luminaire to the power supply unit.
5. Ensure that the connected wattage of the luminaire is 16.5 W.
6. Place the luminaire in the desired location, considering the rated temperature of 25°C and the ambient temperature of 40°C.

They are ideal for places where a soft and uniform lighting distribution is required. For installation into ceilings with a shallow depth in interior areas.

Installation

• Luminaire housing must not be installed in heat-insulating material.
• LED are high-quality electronic components!
• Please avoid touching the light output opening of the LED directly during installation or relamping.
• A separate power supply unit is required to operate the luminaire.
• For connection to external LED power supply unit – accessory 13 201 or 13 204– the luminaire is equipped with two 2-pin connectors.
• Observe the instructions for use for LED power supply units.

Please note: The black marked connector is not used to connect to the power supply unit 13 201 on/off.

The recessed opening is covered by the frame of the luminaire housing. Fixing of the luminaire in the structure is achieved by using two adjustable wedgeshaped claws.

Installation into concrete ceilings: For this purpose installation housing 13 026 is available.

Installation into inserted ceilings:

• A recessed opening of ø 161 mm is necessary to accept the luminaire housing.
• Recessed depth min. 45 mm.
• The lateral distance between recessed luminaire and other building parts must be atleast 50 mm.
• The claws catch the ceiling facing from the back side. Minimum thickness of the ceiling facing is 3 mm. If the ceiling facing has a thickness of less than 10 mm or in case of an installation into plasterboard ceilings, the facing thickness in the region of the claws must be increased from the back side.

Open luminaire:

• Remove glass from luminaire housing by turning it counter-clockwise.
• Connect plug part of the luminaire with power supply unit.
• Push external LED power supply unit and luminaire housing into the ceiling cut-out.
• Luminaire housing and external LED power supply unit must not be installed in heat-insulating material.
• Tighten evenly screws of claw fasteners.
• Screw glass with gasket into luminaire housing.
• Make sure that gasket is positioned correctly.

Cleaning · Maintenance

Clean luminaire regularly with solvent-free cleansers from dirt.

Replacing the LED module

• The designation of the LED module is noted on a label in the luminaire.
• The light colour and light output of BEGA replacement modules correspond to those of the modules originally fitted.
• The module can be replaced by qualified persons using standard tools.
• Disconnect the system and open the luminaire.
• Please follow the installation instructions for the LED module.
• Inspect and, if necessary, replace the luminaire gaskets.
• Defective glass must be replaced.
• Close the luminaire
