Product Usage Instructions

  1. Before starting installation, ensure that the power has been switched off.
  2. Secure the construction plate to the ceiling joists using the provided nails shown in Figure 1.
  3. Adjust the location of the metal plate by sliding it along its rails until the desired location is achieved.
  4. Tighten the screw on the side of the construction plate until the plate can no longer slide, as shown in Figure 2.
  5. If the light fixture being installed has a cutout greater than 3, remove the appropriate ring(s).
  6. If the light fixture has a cutout of 3, no rings need to be removed. If the cutout is 4, remove the appropriate ring(s), as shown in Figure 3 and Figure 4.

CAUTIONS

  • To ensure personal safety, proper grounding of the electrical fixture is required.
  • The fixture must be wired in accordance with the National Electric Code and applicable local codes or ordinances.

MOUNTING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Ensure power has been switched off before starting installation.
  2. Secure the construction plate to the ceiling joists using the provided nails shown in figure 1.Maxxima-MRL-S38PLATE-10-Slim-Downlight-Metal-Rough-In-Plate-fig 1
  3. Adjust the location of the metal plate by sliding it along its rails until the desired location is achieved. Then tighten the screw on the side of the construction plate until the plate can no longer slide shown in figure 2.
  4. If the light fixture being installed has a cutout greater than 3” then the appropriate ring(s) will have to be removed.
  5. If the light fixture has a cutout of 3” then no rings will have to be removed. If the light fixture has a cutout of 4” then the innermost ring will have to be removed. If the light fixture has a cutout of 6” then the two innermost rings will have to be removed. If the light fixture has a cutout of 8” then all of the rings must be removed.
  6. After the correct size is selected, install the ceiling material of choice (not suplied) and ensure the cutout matches the metal plate shown in figure 3.
  7. Install the desired downlight (not supplied) ensuring the clips are resting on the metal plate and that the power supply module is resting on the top of the metal plate.
  8. Restore power to the light fixture.
