SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Read the User Instructions carefully before use.

Save these instructions for future reference.

Risk of fire and explosion
  • Paint and solvents can be highly inflammable.
    • Only use in a well-ventilated paint spraying booth.
    • Avoid ignition sources, including lighted cigarettes, naked flames, electrical sparks, etc. Do not use solvents that contain hydrogenated hydrocarbons (1, 1, 1-trichloroethane, ethylene chloride, etc.) that can react chemically with elements of aluminium or zinc and cause an explosion. Use fluids and solvents that are compatible with aluminium and zinc.
  • Paint spraying equipment and the objects to be spraypainted must always be earthed, to reduce the risk of sparking due to static electricity.
Risks if the equipment is used incorrectly
  • Never point a spray gun towards yourself, other people or animals.
  • Never exceed the maximum permitted working pressure for the equipment.
  • Always depressurize the paint and air before cleaning, dismantling and/or service. We recommend that you install a shutoff valve on the compressed air line, close to the spray gun.

Risks during customization and spraying
  • Toxic fumes are produced when spraying specific materials, which can be harmful.
    • Ensure good ventilation during use.
    • Always wear safety glasses, gloves, respiratory protection, etc., to prevent the risk of personal injury caused by inhalation of toxic fumes or solvents/paint in contact with the skin or eyes.
  • The noise level specified in the technical data was measured 1.0 m behind the spray gun’s tip, 1.6 m above the floor.
    • Wear ear protection, if required.

Other risks
  • Never modify the product in any way.
  • Never enter the work area for active robots, machines, conveyors or the like.
  • Never spray foods or chemicals with the spray gun.

IMPORTANT: The product must only be used by persons who have had proper training. Check that the product has not been damaged during transportation. Only use clean, dry air.

  • Connect the air hose to the air coupling.
  • The paint container or paint hose must be connected firmly to the paint connection.
  • Rinse the spray gun’s paint ducts using an appropriate solvent.
  • Pour paint into the paint container, test spray and adjust the outgoing paint flow and pattern width.

OPERATION

Appropriate air pressure is 2–3 bar.

  • The recommended paint viscosity varies depending on the paint’s characteristics and surrounding conditions when spraying (18 ± 2 s recommended).
  • Use the lowest possible outgoing flow. It gives better surface results with customization.
  • The distance between the spray gun and the work piece should be as small as possible (150–200 mm).
  • Always hold the spray gun perpendicular to the work piece surface.
  • Move the spray gun in straight lines horizontally.
  • If you move the spray gun in turns, the paint coat will be

MAINTENANCE

WARNING:

  • Turn off the air and fluid flow to the spray gun and relieve the pressure by pressing the trigger before disassembly, cleaning and/or service.
  • The spray gun contains sharp parts – risk of cut injuries.
  • The product must only be dismantled by persons who have had proper training.
  1. Pour remaining paint into another container and clean the paint ducts and air cap. Spray a small amount of solvent to clean the paint ducts. Inadequate cleaning can cause incorrect patterns and/or particles in the paint. Thoroughly clean the spray gun immediately after using two-component paint.
  2. Clean the other parts with solvent and the included brush and a cloth.
  3. Clean the paint ducts fully before dismantling the spray gun.
  4. Remove the paint needle before removing the paint nozzle, or hold the needle retracted, otherwise the seat may be damaged.
  5. Insert the paint needle and screw on the paint needle seal by hand. Tighten carefully with a spanner. Adjust the seal while you press in the trigger and check how the paint needle moves. Do not over tighten, as the paint needle moves slower, which will result in leakage from the nozzle tip.
  6. If this is the case, loosen anti-clockwise until the needle moves freely without paint leakage.
  7. Turn the pattern knob anti-clockwise to the fully open position and screw in the pattern guide in the body.

IMPORTANT: Only use spare parts and accessories recommended by the manufacturer.

  • Never immerse the spray gun in solvent or other fluid.
  • Be careful never to damage the holes in air cap, paint nozzle or paint nozzle.

TROUBLESHOOTING

Spray patterns Problem Action

Uneven
|

  •  Air leaks in between the paint nozzle and the connection.
  •  Air leaks in between the air setting ring and body or the connection.
  •  Air leaks in by the needle lock nut.
  •  Air leaks in between the paint hose and the container.

|

  •  Dismantle and clean the parts and refit. Replace the parts if they are damaged.
  •  Dismantle and clean the parts and refit. Replace the parts if they are damaged.
  •  Tighten the needle lock nut.
  •  Dismantle and clean the parts and refit.

Half moon format

|

  •  Clogged hole in the air cap.

|

  •  Clean the nozzle with a nylon brush (not a metal brush).

Thicker at one end

|

  •  Blockage between the paint nozzle and air cap.
  •  Blockage at the paint nozzle’s outlet.

|

  •  Dismantle and clean the parts and refit. Replace the parts if they are damaged.

Thinner in the middle

|

  •  Too low viscosity.
  •  Excessive paint flow.

|

  •  Add undiluted paint too increase the viscosity.
  •  Turn the spray valve for less paint flow (gives smaller spray pattern).

Thicker in the middle

|

  •  Too high paint viscosity.
  •  Excessive paint flow.

|

  •  Add solvent to reduce the viscosity.
  •  Turn the spray valve for more paint flow.
