POSITIONING
The product should be placed on a smooth, horizontal surface that can
withstand the weight of the product when it is filled with water.
The higher the delivery height, the lower the flow. The inlet hose must be
sufficiently stiff to prevent it from being clenched by the underpressure. The
length, diameter and design of the inlet and outlet hose have a significant
effect on the performance of the product.
The head height is always greater than the suction height. The delivery height
should therefore be allocated to increase the head.
The minimum suction height (product placed near the surface of the water) also
makes it easier to fill the pump with water before starting.
-
Place the product as near to the source of the water as possible and use the shortest possible suction hoses.
-
Place the inlet hose with a filter fully under the surface of the source of the water.
NOTE:
The inlet filter should be completely below the surface of the water.
Do not use the product without the inlet filter. Put the inlet filter in a bucket or on stones to reduce sucking in sand and clay. NOTE:
The inlet hose and its connections must be airtight. Otherwise, air will be sucked into the inlet hose and make it impossible to fill the pump with water. Air leaks can be sealed with thread sealing tape. -
Fasten the inlet hose so that it cannot move when the product is started. Keep the inlet hose as short as possible for best performance.
-
Lead the outlet hose to the required outlet point. Several outlet hoses can be connected if necessary. Fasten the outlet hose so that it cannot move when the product is started. Keep the outlet hose as short as possible for best performance.
INSTALLATION
NOTE:
Hoses sold separately.
FITTING THE INLET HOSE
Use a separate hose together with the hose connections supplied with the
product.
The inlet hose must be reinforced or otherwise sufficiently stiff to prevent
it being clenched by the underpressure.
The inlet hose should be as short as possible.
- Place the product as near to the source of the water as possible.
- Fasten the hose (A) on the hosesleeve (B) with a hose clip (C). Firmly tighten the hose clip to prevent sucking in air. Check that the seal (D) is in good condition.
- Fit the supplied inlet filter in the other end of the inlet hose and tighten with a hose clip. The filter protects the pump from blockage and damage caused by impurities and debris.
- Tighten bush nut (E) on the pump inlet connection (F).
INSTALLATION OF OUTLET HOSE
Use a separate hose together with the hose connections supplied with the
product.
The outlet hose should be as short as possible and have the largest possible
diameter to reduce the flow resistance and thereby maximise the flow.
- Firmly tighten the hose clip so that hose is not pressed off by the overpressure in the hose.
USE
Filling the Pump with water
The pump must be filled with water before starting the product.
- Remove the water filler plug from the pump housing and fill with water.
- Replace the plug and tighten.
NOTE:
Never allow the pump to run dry, this will damage the pump seal. If the pump should run dry, switch off the engine immediately and allow the pump to cool before filling it with water.
IMPORTANT: Always check before use that the pump housing is full of
water. Never attempt to run the pump if it is not full of water.
The warranty will be invalidated if the pump is run without water.
REFUELLING
WARNING! Fire risk – risk of serious personal injury.
Fuel must be filled in a well ventilated area, preferably outdoors, and
away from naked flames and other sources of heat.
Do not fill fuel if the engine is hot – allow the engine to completely cool
before filling fuel.
Do not smoke.
NOTE:
Recommended fuel is E10 petrol. Do not use ESS. The warranty will be invalidated if fuel stabiliser is not added to the fuel. Do not use fuel stored in a metal container, or contaminated container. Such fuel can contain particles that can have a negative effect on engine performance and/or damage the engine.
- Clean the area around the fuel cap.
- Unscrew and remove the tank cap.
- Fill the fuel tank to about 25 mm below the tank cap opening. Follow the recommendations of the fuel stabiliser manufacturer.
- Replace the fuel cap.
- Wipe up any spilled fuel immediately and allow surfaces to dry before starting the product.
WARNING! Never start the product if there is a smell of fuel – risk of fire or explosion!
FILLING UP WITH OIL
NOTE:
The engine is supplied without oil. Before using for the first time the crankcase must therefore be filled with oil, and the oil level should checked and if necessary topped up for subsequent use. Otherwise the warranty will be invalidated.
- Switch off the engine and place the product on a level surface.
- Close the fuel cock.
- Clean the top of the dipstick and the area around it. Unscrew the dipstick anticlockwise and wipe with a clean, lintless cloth.
- Put the dipstick in the hole without screwing it in and then take it out and check the oil level. The oil level should lie between the max and min markings as shown above.
- If the oil level is at or below the min marking, fill with SAE l0W-30 engine oil to the max level.
- Replace the oil dipstick and tighten clockwise.
NOTE: Do not use the product if the oil level in the engine is too low. Switch off the engine when the oil level is too low.
STARTING THE ENGINE
-
Close the choke to start if the engine is cold. The choke should be open to start an already hot engine.
-
Open the fuel valve.
-
Move the throttle 1/3 of the way from low speed (tortoise symbol).
-
Set the engine switch to ON.
-
Grip the starter cord handle and pull slowly a few times to fill the carburettor with fuel.
-
Now pull the starter cord until it catches. Fully release the cord and then quickly pull. Repeat until the engine starts.
NOTE:
Do not let the starter cord grip snap back against the engine when the cord goes in. Hold onto the cord when it goes in so that it does not knock the engine. -
If the engine is started cold (closed choke), allow it to run for a few seconds and then slowly move the choke to open position.
NOTE: If the choke is moved too quickly the engine can stop.
IMPORTANT: Run the engine warm with no load for five minutes after starting. -
Set the throttle as required.
-
Put the engine switch in position OFF to switch off the engine.
NOTE: Do not let the starter cord grip snap back against the engine when the cord goes in. Hold onto the cord when it goes in so that it does not knock the engine.
ADJUSTING THE ENGINE SPEED
Adjust the throttle.
After starting the engine, move the throttle to high speed and check the pump
flow.
The pump flow is controlled by the engine speed – high speed produces high
flow, and low speed produces low flow.
WARNING! Carbon monoxide is a toxic gas. Inhalation can cause loss of
consciousness and result in death. Avoid exposure to carbon monoxide.
MAINTENANCE
Do not break manufacturer seals and never modify the product in any way. Only
an authorized service center or other qualified personnel can work on parts
that affect the engine speed and speed limits.
The product must only be serviced by qualified personnel using identical spare
