Product Information
The product is Item#5137-699, a circular strap fixture that comes with a chain (#HCH2072-695), ground screw, mounting screw, and fixture wires (black or smooth, white or ribbed, and bare copper for ground). The product is new as of July 18, 2022. The fixture is to be installed in place of an old fixture with the mounting hardware removed. The product manual includes Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 for installation purposes, with Fig. 1 showing the preparation steps and Fig. 2 showing the fixture wires and house wires.
Product Usage Instructions
Before starting the installation process, shut off power at the fuse box or circuit breaker box to prevent electrical shock.
- Remove the old fixture and its mounting hardware.
- Unpack the new fixture and lay out all the parts.
- Use proper chain pliers to open and close the chain included with this fixture. Do not use other tools that may twist or stress the chain links.
- Refer to Fig. 1 for preparation steps, which include shutting off power, removing the old fixture, and mounting the new fixture.
- Refer to Fig. 2 for fixture wire and house wire connections. Connect black or smooth fixture wires to black (hot) house wires, white or ribbed fixture wires to white (neutral) house wires, and bare copper fixture wires to green (ground) house wires.
- Once installation is complete, turn on the power at the junction box and test the fixture.
Note that the illustration in Fig. 1 is for installation purposes only and may or may not be identical to the fixture purchased.

PREPARATION

Shut off power at the fuse box or circuit breaker box and remove the old fixture including the mounting hardware.

Carefully unpack your new fixture and lay out all the parts in a clean area. Take care not to misplace any small parts necessary for installation.
ASSEMBLING AND HANGING THE FIXTURE (Fig.1)

Secure rod (F) onto all thread (G) on the fixture body. Carefully pass wires through rod (F) as you assemble.

Open one end of the chain (L) and attach it to the fixture loop (M2), then close the chain.

By measuring, determine the correct number of links needed for the desired hanging height. Using the chain pliers, disconnect and discard the excess chain (L).

Carefully lace fixture wires through the chain (L).

Open the other end of the chain (L) and attach it to the loop (M1). Then close the chain (L).

Carefully feed fixture wires through the loop (M1) and canopy (D) and pull tight.

Thread screws (A) into pre-drilled holes in the circular strap
(B). Spaced the same distance apart as the holes in the canopy (D). The length of screws (A) may be adjusted if necessary -
Attach circular strap (B) to the junction box (not included) using mounting screws (C) (Size: #8-32N*L0.5”). The side of the circular strap marked “GND” must face out.
CONNECTING THE WIRES (Fig. 2)

Connect the electrical wires as shown in fig 2, making sure that all wire connectors are secured. If your junction box has a ground wire (green or bare copper), connect the fixture’s ground wire to it. Otherwise, connect the fixture’s ground wire directly to the circular strap (B) using the green screw provided.

Tuck wire connectors neatly into the junction box.. COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION (Fig. 1)

Slide screws (A) through the canopy (D) and secure with knobs (E).

Install (4) four medium base bulbs (J) up to 100 watts each or CFL or LED equivalent (not included) in accordance with the fixture specification—DO NOT
EXCEED THE MAXIMUM WATTAGE RATING! (NE PAS DEPASSER LA PUISSANCE NOMINALE MAXIMALE!) -
Place the glass shade (K) inside the cup (H) and secure with screws (I). Do not over-tighten.
Your installation is now complete. Return power to the junction box and test
the fixture.

purposes only. It may or may not be identical to the fixture purchased.
Notice: It is important to use proper chain pliers (not included) To OPEN and CLOSE the chain included with this fixture. Do not open them with other tools that may twist or stress the chain links. It is important to use proper chain pliers like the ones shown in the diagram.
